    Hey Toby! Just discovered your videos somehow; I think a video of yours showed up on my main page recommendations. I binged about 5-6 of them, and the information has been quite helpful already! I've been a longtime console FN player - I started on PS4, and now split my time between my PS5 and Xbox Series S. I was never good at building, so when Zero Builds was introduced and made permanent, I really settled into it as my mode of choice. It's funny because while I knew some of the principles your videos outline, implementing them is an entirely different story. Just a few of your videos have already got me thinking a little bit differently about how to play and I was able to get some victory royales I don't think I normally would have won! I'm already sharing some of that info with my work friend I play Duos with as well. Hoping this really is the beginning of some improvement in my FN gaming! and my buddy's

    I’m sure you’ve noticed me complaining in the discord after I’ve had a bad set of games, but I do find this video helpful. I’m at a point in Fortnite where I can beat 99% of players pretty consistently, however, I notice that gap between me and the top 1% of the top 1% of players (like Zarraxus). I’m trying to figure out how to get better, and one thing I’m trying to work on is staying alive in fights. What I mean is, making correct split second decisions in a fight. Whether it be disengaging and repositioning, using the utility in my inventory, using cover, and maybe even standing my ground. Once I can master that, I feel that I can better close the gap between me and the top players.

  • @CrazyGamerJC-YT
    @CrazyGamerJC-YT Місяць тому +2

    First off I love seeing you quote Jocko. As a military guy, that dude is a leader's leader. I'd have followed his orders to storm the gates of Hades if he asked me to without a second thought.
    And nearly everything you've gone over I've implemented in my own game training, which has helped me improve well beyond where I was when I first found your community.
    I think where I have struggled and I think there are others that have had this issue is two fold
    1) having a deficiency you simply feel you can't overcome. Like it doesn't compute how to fix it and I'm currently dealing with two issues that fall into that category.
    2) I think the biggest mental block for me is seeing players that were my skill level maybe 6 months ago and now I feel they are two levels above me. It gets worse when I know for instance I train shotgun flicks between 90 minutes and 5 hours each week depending on how much spare time I have, but when we get into a creative they are blasting me into next week. You hit that wall where mentally you are saying "How? Like I'm putting in more time than they are, how?", and that for me at least is a very depressing place to be. You just want to put everything down and walk away, but your pride refuses to let you so you stay in this abusive relationship with your own subconscious.
    I think you are dead right on being willing to get destroyed in creatives. I'm very rarely in a creative match where I'm winning on the leaderboard and that part doesn't bother me like it used to. If I'm in the Shinobi FFA and you pop in the lobby, the challenge of fighting you becomes every once of fun for me and I could careless about the kill count in the end and I wish more players adopted that attitude

    • @TobyWanShinobi
      @TobyWanShinobi  Місяць тому +1

      I wish I had an answer for that JC. The truth is, everyone progresses at different rates for different reasons. All I'd say is if you are aim training that often and aren't seeing much improved results, maybe you aren't being "challenged" enough. Are you using aim labs? Or just in game creative aim trainers? In game creative is just not challenging enough to progress, imo...

    • @CrazyGamerJC-YT
      @CrazyGamerJC-YT Місяць тому

      @TobyWanShinobi I'm doing a set of different in game creative. Shot gun flix on Clix Aim Trainer, pump swaping on Aim Duel v Bot (ramps) in Raiders, The shot gun 360 you go over in your shot gun map. Full circuit takes about 30-45 minutes each time I run it. I've considered Aim labs but I've been told it's designed for PC players not console

    • @TobyWanShinobi
      @TobyWanShinobi  Місяць тому

      @@CrazyGamerJC-YT I believe Aimlabs is now available in beta on console... I could be mistaken though. I know people in the discord have been talking about getting it on Xbox (long overdue, imo)

    Nice one! I don’t get upset when I get killed, I get upset at my mistakes that got me killed (admittedly I get too hard on myself though; after all it’s just a game and supposed to be fun). I can’t NOT try to improve when I’m aware of where I have work to do to be better; this goes anytime in my personal life. When I warm up for gameplay, I focus mainly on weapons or scenarios that I have the most challenge with; for me it’s tracking and aim with an enemy’s movement in CQC, so I will go into aim trainer in a dynamic setting (with a rooftop-like surface) with just a single shot weapon like a mammoth pistol or hand canon and focus on getting more hits than misses. Anyway thanks for a great video (as usual!)

    I really do have issues with lag. I was playing ranked yesterday and my ping kept shooting up to 250 every time I was fighting somebody. I got the first 4 eliminations even though I was running in place. I died after that though. My aim is decent, I would say 7/10. Some days my aim is insane and some days its awful. I can not edit worth a crap though, but my building is finally starting to get better.

    "Raiden" all your tips and trick I take to heart but I found it hard to beat a duos when they jump the better person. I play creative alot just to practice my aim just about everything and I do play 2v2 which I play against a player that 20 times better than me and he give me all the smoke. And the challenge is I have to win 3 games so if I start winning games against him I see my improvement cause if we 1v1 40 games I would only win 1. And I take the punishment because I know where I lack at and I try to improve but most player are fast on movement fast on thinking of the next player in game sense and I just gotta be not as fast but as smart. So keep bring me tips so I can become better to improve in my areas that I'm lacking

    Any recommendations for flicking aim trainers for console players? For Fortnite specifically, though, if anyone has anything that is better for other games too I'd love that (raiden 😊).

    I'd also recommend watching Core-A Gaming video analyses. Sure, they're mostly talking about fighting games, but I found their content really helpful outside of the genre.

    I thought you just had to pick up the Flowberry Fizz and Thunder Burst and you became Zaraxxus instantly. I did wonder why I can't get out of Platinum 😆

    I explained to my wife. The exact thing today like the example you used of “the two violence.” The possibility of you making this video and it be exactly what I do to get better or correct myself. Like watching my clips over and over. Or willing to learn knowing only way for me to get better is to admit what I’m nit the best at and improve. I guess it’s the Marine in me.
