- Akutsu Hachiman Shrine is a historic shrine located in Takahata Town, Yamagata Prefecture, and has been known as the center of local faith since ancient times. This shrine was built during the Kamakura period, and the current main hall was rebuilt during the Edo period.
The vast grounds are lined with beautiful cedar trees, and as you walk along the approach, you will be enveloped in a comfortable tranquility. In addition, many cultural properties are preserved within the precincts, including important cultural properties designated by the prefecture.
