Oh my. Now I want to get a HON! LOL. AND jump back into my cousin again 😉. I agree with you about buying something on a whim and it becoming a treasure! So MANY things in life are like that. I also love the chatty videos more than the planner reviews though I understand the reason for them plus your reviews WORK! I'd never bought an EC before watching one of your videos or a Bella Grace or those Mary Engelbreit calendars. I think I bought something else too but I can't remember now, I'm feeling OLD today, it's SNOWING 😝 outside and bitter cold (well what I think is bitter cold - 20 degrees) all my little aches and pains that I can ignore when it's nice out are bothering me. You should be proud of yourself, you've accomplished a lot with this channel and all your hard work! As always, THANK YOU for that!
Aw, Cie:) These kind words truly warmed my heart today and made me SMILE! Thank you:) I love knowing how much you enjoy the personal chatty videos. hopefully I can fit more of these in 2024;) Jump back in that Cousin and play around. That is why it is so great to have one on hand...it can keep you from buying another planner...just having it there to test out and play around in:) And I am sending a virtual warm cozy blanket and Hot tea your way! XXX
I love that they are making the Weeks in English now too:) And thank you for your feedback on these types of videos. I love to make videos like this;) How do you use your Weeks? Will it be your main planner for 2024?
I LOVE your more personal, chatty videos. I’ve used Hobonichi planners in the past. I have tried pretty much all of them. I can’t get past the quotes and the red printing in them. Currently I am really enjoying the Sterling Ink B6 Common Planner - but the printing is a little too light for me. The 2024 planners are supposed to be slightly darker and I am glad about that. I also use a B6 Wonderland 222 planner for my health and wellness planning/tracking and I am loving that planner so much. Great video Amanda!!! Always so thorough.
Hey Bernadette:) Thanks for watching and taking time to chat:) I love hearing your thoughts. I do hear ya on the quotes and red print in the Hobonichi. That isn't appealing to me either;) I think the common planner looks amazing...I have seen how light the print is- my eyes would for sure need it a bit darker;) I loved hearing all your thoughts on this topic:) Have a wonderful weekend friend!
I love your more personal videos. I think it's healthy to mix in content you really enjoy creating: it'll help avoid burning out on the amount of work you do.
You are so personable and fun, Amanda - more of these chatty videos please! I usually watch your reviews, so this was a nice change. Glad you were able to enjoy something different.
I got my first hobonichi after seeing your unboxing with Tara. I'll use the weeks as my main weekly, its exactly the layout I love. I'm still deciding between the cousin or the A6 for my daily. I think I could probably fit everything in the a6, since I can right small, and i'd love the portability. But a5 size is not that big, and I feel even if I wouldnt fill up the page, the extra room would make the day more manageble. So hard to choose.
I used a Weeks and a Cousin this year for the first time and I absolutely enjoyed using them! Deciding if I want a Hon or a classic Cousin for 2024. Decisions decisions!
I always appreciate your more chatty and personal planning videos ☺ I want to try one of these because I'm so curious but I think the ghosting would bother me in the end. lol
Hey Vickie- Yeah...like I said the ghosting even bothers me too much to use it as my planner. The weekly just gets too busy with the ghosting and the grid. I don't mind it when memory keeping though;)
I wanted to try the Hobonichi for the first time ever to use for my goals and tracking in the weekly layout and then a daily journal as im being more intentional of writing things out on paper instead of electronics... I can't get over the months being all together... Idk why 🤷🏽♀️ its probably my type A, OCD & ADHD personality that does it BUT i found a PERFECT alternative... Wonderland222 - pretty much a hobonichi exception being that each month sits with its weeklies and then it has 365 pages in the back to use as dailies, but without the date printed! Its called the All in One. I'm even thinking about getting two so i can use one as a commonplace. Unfortunately, i can't afford to buy a single thing, at all, because my fiance just lost his job and other life things that have gotten in the way of my love for all things planners and journals.. but I won't and can't complain because I can find other things and try to make it work. I just know if i dont love something - i sont stay consistent... Oh the dilemmas of being a planner and journaler... 😂 #sorrytoolongofaRant #imdone Love your videos!
This was not too long! I loved reading your thoughts and your dilemma. I understand 100% all of what you shared...and wonderland 222 is a great one! Ive only reviewed it on IG, but I think for all the reasons you stated some will like it better than hobonichi! I truly am sending good vibes and a hug xxx.
I wanted to mix it up in 2024 but honestly the cousin is the only planner I’ve done a whole year in so hon it is for 2024! 😂 I also don’t have the same options shipping is insane to Ireland!
Well you know it works for you:) The Hon is so nice and feels like a level up! I think you will love it:) So sorry about the insane shipping fees to Ireland! But on another note- Ireland looks beautiful and Ive always wanted to visit! Thanks for watching and taking time to chat;)

Jibun … prounced more like geeboon, I absolutely loved to use. However, I wanted my weekly and dailies in one book. I miss the Gantt/Habit chart/tracker pages they had. However, when they came out with the days, I tried it for a year. However, carrying around so many books to University, plus my EDC weeks was just annoying. So I went to the cousin, and have not looked back.
@@AmandasFavorites when using it at University, the best video I watched on how to use the Cousin was Rachel in Theory, and her ideas on how to layout the page. I used this to make such a large page easier to use
Hobonichi has either too big or too small planners and no happy medium (B6 or Standard TN size for instance). Also, being a Japanese company, they are not willing to change itdespite of customers'requests. I know that it's being forever that people ask yem for exchange for the daily pages to just grid pages. They did do the "free" planner, but there are no 365 pages, just half of it. That's why small companies as Sterling ink step in, having such a big demands, and started to make the planners that hobonichi and other companies are not willing to make, and take over the hobonichi company. They have made the B6 common planner that is similar to hobonichi cousin , and with 365 grid pages instead of dailies, and the Standard TN size, and the passport TN size, A6 and others. Sterling ink filled out the gap in the market and earned a lot of money on this. Have you tried the common planner? Also the Chinese companies as Kinbor are takingvtheir share of market too, this year they have also made the B6 planner that is way cheaper that hobonixhi but have the same quality. Have you tried the Kinbor planners?
Hi Kat:) Thank you so much for watching and taking time to share your thoughts:) I hear you on the Sterling Ink! I agree with you 100%. I haven't gotten one to review yet- but I would love to:) And I've never heard of Kinbor- I will check them out;)
i disagree. i don’t think that they are unwilling to listen to consumer requests (adding english versions of the original and cousin), just that they have too many things to worry about to satisfy every single person. they are a business; they have to make profit. furthermore, hobonichi actually isn’t as big as you think in japan; there are so many good quality planners in japan that the competition is huge. it’s only online that hobonichi seems big right now. yet they have been surviving and thriving, which is why they have the capability to try new things like the HON. sure maybe common planner and the new brands will take over in the “western market” for a few years, but hobonichi will be fine. and in the long run, smaller companies will run out of funds and profits chasing the market.
My issue with he common planner is that she said darker print, and I did the preorder, and from what I am seeing with the grid, I know I will get eye strain. It is just too light.
