I love the bathroom and the bedroom the rest is like a lot of RVs. But it's a winner for me
Beautiful RV. I can’t wait until the tower of power fad goes away though.
Since I really enjoy being able to use all of my counter space.
I like that they have a kitchen that is a little easier to cook in, room on both sides of the stove, some counter by the sink, needs a little more though. I wouldn't choose those colors but they aren't horrible. Love that the bed has more room around it and the bathroom was great. This would be a really good unit for those with mobility issues. I think all the storage under would come in handy since the storage is more limited in the kitchen living area. I wouldn't want to run in and out to get what I needed though. That closet will make a lot of people happy though.
“The best place to take a nap is wherever you’re at.” 😂
I love all the storage under this rv. As a full timer, that storage is perfect for me. The first Columbus I saw, maybe Palomino, I was super impressed with. I think it had the ac in the underbelly, which I liked, so curious to hear how that worked for folks. I’ve been seeing all the new rv’s with those front offices, so when this manufacturer does a front office, paired with that underbelly storage, a great kitchen layout, that ac in the underbelly and full body paint, it will be mine. And the office has to be as good as or better than Forest River’s. I know, I don’t want much, right, just a massive home on wheels, lol. 🥴
One cannot really say that they love the layout and design features unless you have lived in an RV full time. My biggest drawback to this RV is the tv placement. I live in an RV that has a rear kitchen. The tv faces the whole living room and kitchen areas. So where ever you are you see the tv. No neck stretching……. Really love the floor plan with no steps to BR area.
did they do away with the central A/C?
that was a cool feature.
I think adding a 1/2 bath might have pushed it into Best Of Show territory. I like the single-level floor, and if your were worried about disabled access (remember that covers a huge spectrum, not just wheelchair-bound), you could probably add some kind of chair or platform lift in the entry. Hadn't given it serious thought until my wife broke her leg recently. She's doing fine, now, but for 4-5 months she had to learn how to move from living/kitchen area to the bed/bath level. Not fun, but she managed.
Hey JD I hope you're having a great day an doing well? I love this River Ranch 393RL. The outside storage is massive, I didn't realize they had that much outside storage. Then when you went inside the space an room that you have is unbelievable! The doors an cabinet drawers all soft closing is amazing. I love that it has 2 electric fireplaces that are space heaters! I like that it's got the heat ducts in the floor. The main AC unit has the built in heat pump is cool, can you get the heat pump in any of the other 2 AC units? The bathroom is awesome with all the room in it. The bedroom has washer an dryer prep an stackable. Big bed with storage under it along with the massive closet. Thank you JD for showing us this River Ranch393 RL an give us all the information an specs on it! Your number one fan an friend Leonard Nelson from North Carolina..😎😀😃😄👍🤘😎😎🙂😎
I'm glad to see a single vanity. Who actually needs 2 vanity's in the bathroom? Do you and your wife really need separate sinks? I can say my wife would much rather have the space to put her cosmetics. I truly think that the dual vanity thing is one of those things that someone saw once and was like oh shit I want one. Then next thing you know everyone gets them and nobody actually even understands why and nobody ever uses both of them at the same time.
The slide floors are composite also! So no more replacing slide floors!
This one is really interesting! Yes, a LOT of storage but love so many things about it! The half-sleeper couch, the design in the island & fireplace, LOVE the dining chairs, perfect huge shower & bath, don’t mind the stairs at all and actually would love the idea of a 5th wheel with no other steps inside! A little big for us, but very cool! 😎
Would love to see something similar but much smaller in a TT or 5th wheel under 35’.
Great storage in the bedroom. Like the rail divide at the entrance.
What happened with the under-mounted residential air conditioning system in previous river ranch models?
Looks like that would be good for a destination trailer where it could be permanently set up. Being disabled, the fact that it doesnt have stairs in the unit and a large bathroom are huge plusses for me.
I live in a 5th wheel but my dream is to get a ram 5500 and a River ranch trailer. I love the cargo capacity and area along with flat floor.
Check out New Horizons and Spacecraft. Probably the best 4 season full-time fifth wheels on the market. New Horizon is semi custom and I believe SpaceCraft can be fully customizable.
Our goal is full time so the massive understorage is perfect. We have 5 cats so putting cat boxes below is a huge plus.
I really like this unit. It’s a perfect full-time RV for a couple given all the exterior and interior storage. My only criticism might be the dinette chairs as they’re large which might be tight around the table if you’re using all four chairs, but if you never have meals with others, not an issue. I also question the split bed sofa as it might be uncomfortable if a couple had to sleep there with a split going down the center of the bed. I don’t really see a need for it. Otherwise, there really isn’t any complaints, although I have no idea if the floor system is actually a good thing or not over time.
Having lived in a RV fifth wheel for over a year. I love the closet space and the storage space. You're asking the wrong guys. These young guys are not full time RVers. I would give this a strong 8 maybe a 9 from the view point of someone with lots of clothes suits the need for storage. Are you week camping or weekend or long term. That determines how you answer the rating.
I don’t think the storage should be seen as look at all the space to put stuff. I see it as, look at all the space I have to configure storage for the stuff I have. I’d happily walk up the steps to have the options under the floor to configure however I would want it.
Storage is great underneath.... but after you fill that up plus what you fill up inside your gonna be over the weight amount. Don't get ne wrong I love that there is that much storage. The Floorplan isn't what I would pick. To much space is waisted. I love the shower but who wants a shower that big when a bathtub can be installed. I get all the flat for easier access. The only thing that I truly love is that the floor is not made out of WOOD! YAY YAY YAY... 😊😊😊😊
I love this, however, being me I would over load it in a heartbeat, but I love not having the stairs after you get in. My husband, God rest his soul, had issues with stairs inside our 5th wheel. This would have been the ticket for him. He fell done the interior stairs several times.
Interesting to see what's going on with them regarding these floor plans/this brand.
So they ditched the basement mini split ac/heat pump for roof units in 2024? That was the huge selling point for having a full house ac/heat system. Was super quiet and efficient too. I also wish they would build one of these for traveling business. I would love to have a murphybed desk combo in the bedroom so I could also use it as an office. But I guess that is what folks that buy 5th wheel toy haulers do.
Thanks for the review
Agree with you guys, too much storage, as if I thought I'd ever say that. No light fixture over the kitchen island is a big miss, but probably due to the lower ceiling. The main living area layout is great, but ceilings are too short. Bathroom & bedroom are awesome,. Too many steps at entry and we have 2 smaller Schnauzers who are fearless and they might get hurt tumbling down so many steps in a hurry. The most popular 5th wheel floor plan...rear living, drop frame with huge tall basement storage, high ceilings in the main living area, is still the best. Others keep trying newer floorplans, but you just can't beat it. I hang our 2 e-bikes on a rack off the back of our Montana's receiver and they travel well, but you must have the correct Swagman rack to handle the weight, which I got from etrailer. Best of show? Nope. . . .
Seem this floorplan 1000 times. These "sleeper" sofa are a joke. Maybe someone will wake up and put in a Dream Air mattress, but since the designers never explore other after market products, they never know they exist.
I agree the designers should sleep on the sleepers.
They did the whole air mattress fold outs around the 2009-2013 timeline throughout the industry and they are horrible! We took one out of camper and put in newer trifold. 1000% better!
How deep is the rear storage starting from the rear compartment door to the bulkhead. Looking to see if it would store a 12 ‘ kayak?
Same. We saw this model at the Houston RV show last weekend and it really checked a bunch of boxes for us. We didn't bring a measuring tape (rookie mistake) to the show but I want to know the length of the rear storage for kayaks.
I would agree about the to much storage, because we all know the wifes will be like CHALLENGE ACCEPTED
Except for the versatile pullout sofa, the living/kitchen isn't special but it is nice. And I agree that the bathroom and bedroom are pretty special. I'd give it a 6 because once you get in there there are no stairs. Were you using a different camera? Your other videos are usually well-focused and steady, but this one made me dizzy with all the swinging around. Yes, I noticed.
Not sure how I feel about the composite floor. Rot proof would be a big plus, but some other brands that tried composite floor apparently had long term durability issues.
Is there really such a thing as too much storage? I’d say this is designed for those folks who full time RV with that much storage. Question however: The composite flooring means that there is no wood to rot out ever (that should be a good thing), but does it make the trailer lighter or heavier because of it? What is the MSRP for this? Not sure if it was mentioned or not. Nice video.
No bathroom access with slides in is a deal breaker for us. My wife has to use the bathroom every 2 hours!! We stop pretty much anywhere big enough to pull off.
Looking at the layout view, bathroom access in travel mode is still there.
Do they still have the rail for around the door like the 2021?
I like this RV / I don't like microwaves above the stove
This is the RV my wife wants, Im kinda torn beteen the Riverstone, but the quality reviews are 2/5 and the Brinkley Z3400. Guess Im getting a RR LOL Do you know how far back the Steel upper Frame goes back?
Hi
What was the brand of the previous unit you tested?
I'm curious how much weight that fold down seat in the shower can hold?
I like it. But for the average person camping with it. It has way to much storage. But i think if you were full timing in it all that storage would be great to have.
You said this should be pulled by a dually, we have a Ford F350 why do you feel it wouldn’t be good for pulling it?
Right of the hop- that cheese reflector by the weight sticker. Why isn’t that an led marker light? Cheap design.
"Too much storage."?? Are you kidding me? Do you guys even RV? Look at the suspension, building materials, fit and finish of these units. Definately best in show!
Beach trip? Easy sand removal
Preferred the single host format done previously
I don't like the power towers. They are hard to keep clean and interfere with countertop usage. I think they are perhaps cheaper to install thank wall plugs because it is at least easier to run wires through cabinets than walls. Not practical for small kids or older adults due to stairs, and I don't like the lower ceilings. Thanks for including the length in your video.
really felt like the space was "perfected" to the point that it is ridiculous. The bedroom? did not care for it. Also wish one or the other of the fireplaces was an alternate fuel, like one gas, one electric. So at least you have options / able to save on gas. I did love the bathroom. Otherwise, it all felt over done and plastic. I am looking for a full time living RV and this is most assuredly not it. I prefer a smaller kitchen with NO island. Prefer a sofa and NO theater seating. Would have loved a desk in the end, and the sofa moved to the tv vantage point.
I don’t like all the steps just to get into the trailer. You have to climb them every time you enter. Normally you only have steps if you want to go into the bedroom. No struts on overhead cabinets. No bedroom access while traveling without moving the slide. Too much storage.
1/2 Bath waste of floor room
Have 2 Full y not.
I heard you say that you might need a dualie to pull it because of the weight issue. A gmc 3500 hd is able to pull up to 21.000 lbs via 5th wheel . So you don't know your facts. The weight of the 5th wheel is not over 21,000 lbs. Think about what you will say before you say it. Get your facts correct
Don't those guys have anything to do?
Complaints, complaints, complaints. Sheesh
Good information but QUIT WAVING THE CAMERA AROUND. Had to just listen and not watch - it's not a magic wand FFS. Thanks for all the useful videos but please, please, don't need them to also be a vomitron.
other than the storage it is nothing special...... 🤠
Again with the sticker nonsense
It's fun being in the minority huh
@@BTBRVReviews Listen, I like your channel and have been a subscriber for years. The whole sticker thing comes across like you’re full of yourself and it’s not a flattering look. That’s all. I still like your channel.
