My work was unique and challenging. There was never a dull moment. I loved every second of my time there. The owner was a very humble and simple man. Also very genorious. He employed a lot of people. I got to kno him well.
I worked for the counter top contractor for this house. I worked on it for 2.5 years and to this day, it is my most favorite project I personally ever worked on. Ray and his wife were beautiful people and I feel blessed to have known them. This home, in my opinion screams who Ray was. It was a blast working with him through so many of the design features. The GC was second to none. Everyone there was on their A game. Not because they were getting paid, its because Ray and his wife treated everyone with respect. I have so many cool experiences working on this home.
This is my late uncles estate. Raymond Nicholson my Papa's brother. He joined the family business early in his life. My papa already had a wife and kids, so he wanted nothing to do with the family business. He thought that if he left his life and ventured with his siblings, he'd lose everything!! I'm proud to say that he kept himself and his family, humble! I didn't grow up with money. I've spent plenty of time at this mansion for family reunions. Until my papa died. Then we all went our seperate ways. When I saw this video, I knew that it was Uncle Ray's!! You Talk about weddings, I agree... I'd love to get married there!!❤
This house was built for a wealthy businessman in Rochester, MI (Raymond Nicholson). Unfortunately, he passed away in 2019. This is a family specific dream house. I really appreciate the craftsmanship and attention to detail. Though this house is not my style I admire many of the aesthetic and historical touches. Still, it was one couple's dream and forever home. The children might not want to keep it because of the maintenance costs. There is probably someone out there who will love this place, it's just that all the extra touches that Ray & Mary wanted make this house a unique vision. I pray that it finds a good owner 🙏🏼

I was here when there was an insurance claim about 8 or so years ago. I built the osb crates with wheels on the main floor. They hold the chandeliers from the main limestone hallway and foyer and the great rooms on either side. After that loss, it had another where the pipes froze and caused water damage in the main house and carriage house. I remember the plaster under the main stairs had holes and was about to collapse, looks fixed here. The room with the platform around the 40:00 minute mark held the massive boiler and tanks that were floor to cieling. The basement supposedly was used as a target shooting range at one point. Sad to see the modern look that was done towards the end. Absolutely gorgeous original woodwork. I'm a wood refinisher, and greatly appreciate the walnut and oak throughout. I may have old pictures of the place I took during the original packout somewhere.
@PaulWolfert sorry, the video changed to the next in que as I posted the comment. This comment was supposed to be on your video of the bishop mansion. I'll copy and paste it over.

I love the tour outside before the interior. When looking at properties I do the same thing. It just makes more sense to me. Once your finished going up and down the stairs inside, you leave because outside was covered first. I enjoy these long videos touring the old, new ad newish homes in Detroit. Keep up the great work.
26:25 This was a wonderful experience to see this magnificent estate. I'm an old Hollywood buff. Every turn into a room reminds me of a movie set seen on the following movies. I estimate 3 million dollars a year to operate and maintain this home.. and $25,000 per month just to run the water features outside
The entire and I do mean, the entire house, the grounds, all that outdoor living, the furnishings and furniture itself is, ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! *Anyone who says differently has No Eye for Beauty!!! (fYI)
It's called personal preference this is your perspective beauty is subjective. Everyone has different taste and style influenced by many factors, I personally don't find it beautiful especially the interior, but I know others will feel differently. Shaming or dissing others for not agreeing with you is stupid and childish.
*The financial market is pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.*

It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or a licensed expert in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields

the first step to successful investing is figuring out your goals and risk tolerance either on your own or with the help of a financial professional but is very advisable you make use of a professional.
Such a beautiful home my only criticism is that you fly past the points of interest like not pausing long enough for ppl to appreciate the intricate wood work units and fire places but the house is exquisite
For heaven's sake....no painting any of that gorgeous wood! You just about stopped my heart when you asked, "Would you paint this wood or leave it alone?" The wood, the beautiful patina, is the heart and soul of a house and I have to say....after all the house touring I've done online, all over the world, this is the only place that reminded me of Biltmore Estate in my home state of North Carolina. The craftmanship, attention to detail, fine choice of wood and fabric, just breathtaking throught. Even the views reminded me of the vistas at Biltmore, all you need are the Blue Ridge Mountains. The price is an absolute steal.

Gigantic and not a tacky thing to be seen. Now you need to find someone with the kind of money to purchase and maintain it who wants to live in Michigan.

Yeah I could not even imagine the the maintenance to upkeep on that house the electric bill the water bill the heating bill air conditioning or the taxes on that place and then the landscaping alone has to be enormous
True, but I would assume that the prospective buyers who could afford the home could afford its upkeep. Otherwise the purchase is a sham.

@@maryansel932 its not that the new owner couldn't afford all these things the question is would they think its money well spent and the answer is often no... 3 million a year and after 2 years you ask yourself is throwing away that kind of money worth it just to live in an oversized money pit and it becomes clear its not...
We’re not yet certain whether this house is for us, but for anyone who is concerned about the upkeep costs, electric, water, etc, we live in a different age: the age of Alexa & the age of smart home technology. There are only 2 of us, and that’s likely to be the same for most of the year. Installing smart technology and not running the floor heating system, water, electricity for the overwhelming majority of the house and installing a dam across the water feature (which can be raised on command), would significantly reduce the utility bill with little trouble. Beautiful home, in my opinion, which is the only opinion I possess.

This is like a state-of-the-art home. What a beautiful kitchen.
Are you talking about the Dutton house or the Bishop Mansion?
@PaulWolfert sorry, the video changed to the next in que as I posted the comment. This comment was supposed to be on your video of the bishop mansion. I'll copy and paste it over.
Who was the man who owned this Dutton home originally?
How do they find workers who aren't drug addicted? Such a pervasive problem in Oakland County. Most laborers to work on homes are drug addicted in my experience.
How the heck you keep a house that big clean?
I love this beautiful home - must be one of the bonuses of selling real estate - to see such beautiful homes.
It's one of my favorite parts of the job!
"The Great Gatsby," "House on Haunted Hill," "Citizen Cane," and "Sunset Boulevard." A special thanks to all, who helped with the backstory. This allowed us into knowing the special couple who build wonderful memories in their dream home.
Definitely THE GREAT GASBY !
The weather is also beautiful with the clear skies. The house is absolutely beautiful..
It was the perfect day to show it off!
It's my dream house!! Can't stop thinking about it after watching the whole video. Subscribed your channel & will eagerly wait for more of these tours.. Great job done!!
Thank you! Now I just need to find more homeowners to let me in 😄
It’s a beautiful property price is incredible for the value of what you’re receiving. Many people couldn’t afford the maintenance and repair cost of the house like that requires.
It is a beautiful home for sure. I have a friendly tip for you, when you are talking about the ceiling or whatever, please point the camera at it. A few times you talked about a feature and you hardly should it. 😊
Stunning mansion attention to detail second to none . Top five houses I ever seen . Lovely video and well documented
Thank you!!
Woooowe. The craftsmanship alone is above and beyond. We don't see that kind of beauty in homes anymore.
Unbelievable! Nicest house I've seen since touring the Dodge mansion and Cranbrook
I grew up across the street from Cranbrook. I still visit. The Detroit Lions had their training camp there. I lived right across from the Tennis bubble which is gone now.
That Mansion is awesome I mean I ain't never seen nothing like this beautiful inside and out you can do everything right now call in your own home😊😊😊
This house is just Gorgeous! The only thing I would change is an outdoor pool as you mentioned. Just Beautiful! 😍
Just stunning!!!! Just beautiful and so very lovely!!!! I love all the garages!!! Tile floor in the garage oh my God perfect!!!! The ceilings are gorgeous... Heated floors, WoW!!!! Id love to go in there.... Great showing... 😊😊😊😊....
Thank you for taking the time to watch!
It’s very impressive, but I can’t imagine paying the taxes, utilities, and upkeep on a property this large. Even if you paid cash, it would be too much.
(fYI)
It's hideous McMansion but whatever
@@DaringProductions12So is your 200 Sq foot dump.. 😂😂
"Anyone who doesn't agree with my opinion is a poo poo head" grow up
It's called personal preference this is your perspective beauty is subjective. Everyone has different taste and style influenced by many factors, I personally don't find it beautiful especially the interior, but I know others will feel differently. Shaming or dissing others for not agreeing with you is stupid and childish.
@@Jaymoe-lh6rl Let's see your 22 million dollar home 👀👀👀 I'll wait ⌚⌚⌚
It’s a beautiful home. I just hope you show it at night time. That’s what you should do if you haven’t I’m still watching currently.
This would be a Absolutely Perfect Place for Weddings and as A Family Home for All occasions I would Love to Own One Of These Beautiful Mansions
Such impressive quality (and quantity) here. I'm stultified and breathless. I wish I had the $6M price of admittance.
I feel Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and.exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or a licensed expert in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields
Interesting, This is superb! Information, as a noob it gets quite difficult to handle all of this and staying informed is a major cause, how do you go about this are you a pro Investor?
Mr Brian Humphery Services was my hope during the 'bear summer' last year. I did so many mistakes but also learned so much from it, and of course from Brian.
the first step to successful investing is figuring out your goals and risk tolerance either on your own or with the help of a financial professional but is very advisable you make use of a professional.
YES!!! That's exactly his name (Brian Humphery Services)
Loved this Mansion!! Stop moving so quickly, after I watched the video I felt like I just got of a 25 minute roller coaster ride. Enjoyed the tour!
I hope he's not the real estate agent.
If you pause, look on upper right of video. There’s a “WHEEL” next to the “cc” if you click on wheel you can control the speed, slower or faster!
This house is immaculate!! The master bedroom alone is worth getting it for❤️
Such a beautiful home my only criticism is that you fly past the points of interest like not pausing long enough for ppl to appreciate the intricate wood work units and fire places but the house is exquisite
This tour is an hour long - wasn't sure if anyone would stick around for a 2 hour slow(er) tour 😅
@PaulWolfert ohh I totally would for the craft details its beautiful
@@PaulWolfertI would!
😂@@PaulWolfert
The careful planning into making this home a reality is shown throughout. It's a beautiful home.
Thank you for watching!
You missed the panic room in his bathroom, pretty cool, just like the old panic room movie. Been in the house many times, amazing house, great family.
This place is incredibly beautiful....absolutely gorgeous. Nice find.
Thanks for watching!
This is a dream house. It’s so beautiful I can dream all day about living in a house like this.
So beautiful and makes me feel like I'm in a Harry Potter movie.
What a gorgeous mansion. With a background of Interior Design, I can appreciate the detail that went into this home. The wood & wooden detail is beautiful. Thank you for the tour. I would love to live in the other house on the property though, without even seeing it ❤😁‼️
This house is the bomb, it looks more like a elegant hotel for the very elite, I thank you really have to have a very large family to live in a house this size, this is very very elegant!!!!!!!!!
This mansion is perfect for weddings or Christmas celebrations, etc. architectural masterpiece!
Beautiful in every way. Would love the see how the water features look once this beauty is sold.
Just found you. So much better than abandoned house exploring. I am guessing my entire family could live here. All of us together could not come up with this much money. 😅
So while beautiful, it felt more like a vacation place, a very fancy Hotel. It would never be a cozy family home to me. I believe I am going to enjoy watching your videos. Thank you!
❤️❤️❤️the inside of the house would love to live here! Beautiful ❤️❤️🙏🏾
Thanks for watching!
That is a gorgeous house and property. It would take a genius to run it. I can't believe the price for all you get. Includes the furnishings. Wow! I don't usually like big houses but I could change my mind for this one. Maybe in my next life. You gave a great tour. I'd still be lost.
Well done ! I appreciate how you covered this big property in a very timely manner. 👍👏👏
Gigantic and not a tacky thing to be seen. Now you need to find someone with the kind of money to purchase and maintain it who wants to live in Michigan.
Agreed! I'm working on it!
Loving it, extended family and help lovely place to grow. Like other cultures that live together.
Incredible home for the price, absolutely worth the money.
You couldnt of picked a better day to film. That clear blue sky for the backdrop is gorgeous!
Thanks for noticing! I track the weather for most of my shoots.
@@PaulWolfert you're welcome! It makes a major difference! Keep going!
It’s my first time experiencing this type of home. I mean I’ve seen a lot of luxury home but this one interior and exterior feels different than most. I’ll watch more of your videos because it seems the mansions you introduce is, in my opinion, different yet unique.
One of the two toilets in the primary restroom was bidet😊.
So glad to see someone knows!
Exactly 🎉
Yea. The dude doesn’t know what basic European bathrooms have
People don't know about the bidet. Game changer...
Oh my gosh that is the most beautiful house I've ever seen and I watch house tours a lot. Too bad I don't have 6M. You did a fantastic job with the tour. I sure hope a family moves in there soon. Thank you for sharing this amazing property.🤩
Thank you for watching it!
The home is beautiful. Thank you for the tour.
The living room is gorgeous some of the details are beautiful specially the paintings
Definitely a great retreat atmosphere. A lot of gardening retreats. On site farm to home meals.
This is an absolutely gorgeous home-worth every penny for $6.9 million!
This house is magnificent. Original hardwood
Would loveeeeee to see the other houses on the property I bet they are amazing!
What a beautiful mansion, this place is a palace.
Love the details of this beautiful home. Wood structure was amazing. I really appreciate the art work. Enjoyed watching it. Thanks Paul!
Sorry can't do your video, although I would love to see this gorgeous property. For the short amount of time I did watch I got motion sickness. You really need to work on your camera angles. You are trying to show something on the ceiling but you didn't point the camera up far enough. I will check back for improvements.😊
I agree. I got motion sickness too. To many jerky movements.
The workmanship is incredible but I’ll take a small cottage with an ocean view over this any day.
I would NEVER paint over the wood. IT's BEAUTIFUL!!
I'd paint over wood in most homes. Not this one.
Watching this while sitting comfortably in my 475sq ft Granny cottage... no doubt smaller than one of those his & hers matching bathroom suites. 😊 Fun tour, phenomenal estate. The price blows my mind though.. didn't you say it cost 22M to build? Then you've got all the furnishings and other houses, which look massive as well.. AND the 22 acres, to boot?!! Seriously boggles my mind.
Thank you for the tour, viewer from California.
When i win the mega milion jackpot i would love to live in this home .❤❤ I would Add some Solar and Wind Technology to help with utilities.
I've watched this home tour 20 times so far and I see something different everytime. I'm just in love with this home and location. ❤❤❤ The couple who had this built got great taste.❤. Outdoor pool would be waste of money for Michigan weather seasons especially if you have a indoor pool you can use year around.
The Architecture is drop dead gorgeous!!!
Pretty wild the half bath was probably almost as big as my first house,
😂 same
Wow that control room where furnaces are and water heaters what a master piece! I would sit in that room for an hour just taking it all in if it was my home ! the cost of electricity bill per month has to be at least 9,000 ! wow impressive beautiful home for sure Thank you for the tour Paul .
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for the tour.
I absolutely love this home. It's right down my alley. And that's a heck of a deal for a house of this magnitude. You asked what would I add, well only thing I can see is a few more crystal chandeliers. Lol.
Glad you like it!! Thanks for watching!
Large homes just seem so creepy to me. Just doesn’t feel warm and inviting. More like a museum! Watching this and so thankful for my space!
Its nice to see a mansion thats actually lived in I follow alot of abandoned buildings channels great job warm vibes from Ireland ✨🕊️☘️
This thing is so dope it almost seems AI. Freaking incredible. I've seen houses for 60 million that aren't even this cool.
It is magnificent!! The current 6.9 million homes can’t even come close to this one
