Super pro class tractors need front suspension. If the fronts had ifs and some travel they wouldn’t slam down and they could steer while keeping the weight distributed on the back tires.
@@chrisboek2346 Breaking is fundamental to any kind of racing, but if they didn’t have to pedal it to get the front end all the way down just to stay on course, I suspect there would be less damage to any machine with suspension, not excluding engine damage.
They also have independent brakes that allow them to steer with if the front isn't on the ground they don't like using them because it takes away there distance but they r independent of the basic brakes so there is 2 separate systems for them to use also there r three different piles of weights sorry 2 the wheels have weights as well 😉
We do this with trikes and 6500lb sleds our front wheel can come up even with weights but we also don't hook to the bottom of the shoe on the sleds if we did there would be a great deal more difficulty keeping the wheel down. Looks cool with the wheels up
@@bobk9321 How is I.F.S. going to keep the front end down?? Either way, the driver WANTS the front end up, because it puts more weight on the rear tires, and helps keep them planted. It's called weight transfer, and it's essential for a good pass.

"How can the truck slow down?" There is a weight box on the back of the trailer that is on rails, and is geared to the trailer's tires and axle, so that it slides forward as the trailer moves ahead. In the front of the trailer, on the bottom, is a large steel plate that slides on the ground. As the truck pulls the trailer down the track, the weight box starts to slide up the rails, towards the front of the trailer. As the weight box gets closer to the front of the trailer, it puts more and more weight on the metal plate that is sliding on the ground, and makes the trailer harder and harder to pull the further it gets.
What part? These pullers build these machines and compete against one another. Where drag racing is fastest A to B. This sport is furthest distance grouped in similar classes like tractors, trucks, diesels, semis, or even mega trucks. It all started back in the early 1900’s where farmers would brag about their horse or mules. And they would put them against each other similarly to the task they performed, pulling weight. Now these events are huge fund raisers for communities, fairs, ruritans, EMS, fire departments, you name it.

@@dwynepen7626 the class rules allow Diesel Fuel or Gasoline with Carburetor. I dont think alky is allowed in this class.

You can run carburated gas in these tractors. There was one or two that did and they didn't seem to perform as well as their diesel counterparts.
