    Good video. Save ur watch, leave it in the truck.
    If the wind should ever pose a problem while tarping, try this example.
    The wind is blowing from the North. Face your truck east and west roll the Southside of the tarp first while the north side of the tarp blocks the wind from coming underneath the trailer and blowing the south side Up over and off the load.
    Another small tip, neatness and organization equates the speed especially when there's snow and ice on the ground or it's raining cats and dogs.
    Keep it on the road.

    Man this video was very refreshing and enjoyable. But woody, u gotta walk the non flap end of the tarp to the flap end. I mad a video on how to roll your tarps up. Check it out. But I hear you huffing and puffing. Lol welcome to flatbed. And is that a go pro you are using with the head mount? Video looks good.

    Hopefully you can get out and run now . I know it probably has been a very expensive couple of weeks . But now I know you will make it up . A lot of the new folks coming into trucking especially flatbed might not know how expensive it is for all your tarps straps bungee cords or chains and headache rack step deck . Maybe you could do a short video and give them a estimated total cost . Nice to see you out Rollin .

    you'll know 70mph winds in winter at those salt mines in Kansas and sail with tarps flying in the wind and you'll soon realize just how light weight you are Woodrow. let it go Fasten rubber ropes in the corners 1st. If you ever have that of tarping in the wind?

    You can use bungee's and the trailer to fold the tarps it's much easier.

      +Woody's Dronography Hahahahaha I'm not a truck driver, I saw it in a video by a man named Dale Clay he works for Maverick trucking in the flatbed division . I'm still in the debating stage as to whether or not I'm going to get my class A CDL.

    Well hopefully time will make you faster? You may wants to check-out my comment made over on Jay that flatbedders channel. tried to explain how to folding tarps alot faster and much easier...right where it was laying the very 1st. time it hit the ground right there less than 4' that's all the space you'd ever needs and during rain,snow,or muddy miserable conditions it gets done the correct way all from using just the use of one or 2 rubber ropes...that's it! Maybe someday you might just ask an old flatbedder how he does his tricks? It's just to remain a trade secret if those young guys like you son coming in here and not ever asking a question it may never you finding out. I just wish I was there to help you. then you can either accept it or reject it ...that trucks being your ship boy so you know what floats verses sinks you like a rock. just be 10%smarter than what it is your working with and having alot less to worry about is just plain smart. keeping it simple. But then if you'd just ask all these other Brothers out here you have...then why play it other wise? Oh yeah I get it...I guess I just already answered that myself...you rejected it as that style isn't best for you? I'm sorry...Pops here a little bit slow as I have always been the "last to know"....& churches just wants their money just to introduce me to my own damn kids as they try blackmailing me outa 10,k more $! than I'm willing to pay. and you disappeared Woody....damn it boy. Now your a grown man. Just be help to anybody out here and just always accept a simple thankyou. &
    That alone will have God blessing you in everything you do. Just keep it safe. C-ya! :)

      I liked your comment on Jay's blog about using 1" x 6"'s screwed into a couple of edge protectors in order to use less protectors but strap the load better and faster.
      I wasn't able to find your comment on how to fold a tarp using the trailer side and a couple of bungie cords. If you have time to explain I for one am all ears.

    • @burlcarey
      @burlcarey 8 років тому +1

      +Gabe .Woody. OK let's me try here to explain it,(folding tarps)1st put 2rubber ropes on the rub rail w/hook hanging down.hook one corner of the tarp to that hook.walk the tarp stretched out along side the trailer. find the middle ring and Fasten it to the hook that's holding the corner of that end tarp. then as you may visualize here is if it was laying flat the 2ends are folded to the middle right. now you just have one corner to fix it on the hook of the rubber rope that's holding the other corner as well as the middle,& folds to crease the way you wants it hanging there...now walk your way to the furtherest end along the trailers edge walking on top to knocking the air out somewhat...fold the ends to match the rubber rope hooked to the trailer front pull the tarp towards you and snap it whip it to crease the folds better as it's matched the same as the furtherest end tied on the rubrail. Now lay flat walk your way back unhook the rubber rope from the rub rail on the trailer. lay it flat in matching the other end walk on top knocking out accessive trapped air in the folds. fold it again or just roll that up from there to the tractor roper rope Fasten it buckled up a couple of placements. & Whalla,woot,woot...simple huh? and less than a 3-4' space right next to the trailer nice & neatly folded & rolled up heavy tarp completed. and done about as fast as you have tookin just to read this. Now do you get the picture in your head as you try to understand what I tried to giving you the best picture of explanations of how to fold it without stretching it all out laying flat taking up more room than what's actually ever needed? and still being the newest tarps ever or never have had a memory in it...to getting those folds creasingly correct is so achievably done this way and about 1/3 faster in time looking lazy but working alot smarter than those ignorant or them others that seem to knowing it all...Go Figure. Hope this helps you new guys out. Take care ya'll. C-ya! :)

      Woods, with all the work involved in flatbed it maybe better than Dry/ frebee. I'm a receiving clerk for the second largest grocery chain on earth, I know exactly what you boys go though at the distribution centers, the long waits and lazy lumpers.
