Worth the trip man. The fog and the forest are amazing. Sometimes the trail is the star, even if not the most techy trail. Getting to places like this is why I started riding mtb 30 years ago.
I moved to LA from Georgia and this is the kind of riding I miss. Every now and then I find some wooded trails like this in the mountains but not often. There's amazing riding down here but after a while the openness of the rocky, sunny trails get old to me.
@@coreymtb if I want to hit a flow trail I have to pay to ride a bike park. Love the gnarly riding but Id rather just get out and ride something mostly mellow. I used to ride Blankets Creek or Pisgah pretty much every week. I had never broken any bones in my 34 years until I moved to LA. Lol.
I'm with you, I'm in Idaho and there's a lot of trails where there's nothing but sagebrush around. I tend to skip those, or just ride them early in the season since the snow melts off of them first. Once Sun Valley is clear of snow, I'm up there every day I have off until the snow flies again! Love to be in the woods.
🌊 Sweet trail B, the darkness & the fog definitely made it a bit more special. Your bike was souding phenomenal for the entire ride, everything was performing as it should. Keep it up (McNugget)😁, Youre killing it. 👍
Trails look very fun! Went through 32 packs of LMNT in Bentonville this past week as it was a scorcher there during our visit. Rode all day for 7 days straight and zero cramps or headaches 🤘
The Lost Coast is such a cool part of California. Shelter Cove is beautiful. I’d say the conditions you encountered are pretty much the norm for that area.
{converts 49F...} 9°C yikes! Thats below my limit for going outside no matter what Im wearing!! haha Looks so beautiful though in the fog. Very magical. Worth the effort. Im really inspired & also very envious of by this vid. A trail which balances natural & curated very well. & so long compared to the short 1km/2km trails I get to ride.
On Trailforks under type it says cross country, so it fits your channel! 😂😉 You're right, it's very subjective. I have some buddies that love techy trails, but I love fast & flowy, don't care much for slow tech. I also tend to prefer the trails that are one or two big triangles on the elevation profile! I get frustrated when I'm just getting into a nice flow, then the trail points up again. Gimme that nice long downhill where I only need a few pedal strokes the whole way!
- You should have a 2nd list of "Honorable Mentions" for trails like this - To make your hubs quieter, add grease instead of oil, the buzzing will be muted
Hi Brian, I just came across your vid and subbed immediately. I miss mtbing, my last 1992 Specialized Stumpjumper was stolen last summer so I have to live vicariously through other's videos.
Damn Brian your in my back yard. Would have loved to ridden with you. Humboldt County has some great trails and you have show cased a few of them. Do come back. You should have tried tried Paradise Royal back in early May or 23 it has trees down everywhere. Glad it is clear.
It's so interesting this popped up for me. I'm about an hour and a half away rn at a friend's, with my bike, and i was debating if the drive down was worth it. This might make the decision easy for me.
Thanks for all the Rimpo videos dude! Just picked up a 2023 Ripmo v2s with some Spokex carbon wheels, setup is lighter than my Salsa Timberjack hardtail and absolutely rips, so stoked! Meant to ask... what mic do you use for your videos while riding?
This is the type of riding I'd prefer to the murder rock courses. At my age I can't afford a new rectum, so the smoother trails would seemingly suit fickle glutes and 60+ joints. As for dream sightings - no lion, tiger or bears for me. For me a 10 foot tall, 1500 Squatch is what I live for. Shout out to Todd Standing the Squatch Master.
Hey Brian....what bracket are you using to hold your Sram Button Gear shifters on the right? Does it attach to your your brake lever or is it independent? It must be nice to ride where there is no dust typical for this time of year.. Those moist rails looked really sweet!
You're a very brave man going into the woods on your own. I can't do that in my country and not constantly worry about being mugged. Though to be honest bandits and wild animals are nothing compared to the strange things ive encountered. I could never ride alone in foggy woods like that, heck no!
those trails with the fog is so sick.
I love this trail. Remote, scenic and a bike playground. I’ve never seen another rider on the trail. Thank you California!
Ive been watching your content for 6 years and it just keeps getting better and better. Keep up the good work man 👍
F!ck cancer Sorry for your loss. awesome riding and kudos on showing us new and cool trails bro 😎

I'm with ya. I like the forest and greenness. I've been to Moab, Sedona, and all the socal spots, but it just doesn't tickle my pickle.

Cruise up to tahoe. I’ll show you around.
I'm the opposite, moved from GA to NorCal and prefer the riding here. Pisgah/Brevard riding is awesome and top notch. Blankets has some fun stuff too.

Think I'm going to grab some. This midwest heat just hit brutal levels because of the humidity.
keep up the great work kid. cheers!
The timing of this video couldn’t have been better! Planning to hit this trail in a couple of weeks. So…thank you for the preview!
Glad you had fun on our local trail! I've seen a bear on Paradise before, but it's such a great trail.
21:30 a pure work of art by nature!! :O
Ester Dome Single-track System
Is my favorite trail in Alaska it's used for biking

Love the Flowy DH sections! That JUmpline at the end looks fun too🤘
It was a good one!
Loving the fog in this video. Just adds to the epic ride
the trails near beginning with fog - WOW! nice looking clips :)
Great spot it is SUPER remote. I rode it solo like you and felt an animal was tracking me on the big climb!
Was waiting for this one to drop 👍 Another awesome shred-it.
Brian, you finally made it to PR! I got a new bike and will be heading up there for 2 days of riding in May. Bringing the van.
Great riding as usual in unknown terrain . Glad you didn’t encounter bite and swipe !!!

I appreciate your talking while riding. So many UA-cam MTB videos are so boring just watching someone ride with no commentary.
BKXC, this is a great video. I love all the scenery with the fog.
Yep! I love this one too
This one has been on my list forever. Gonna have go hit it.
Best mtn biking in California, period!
love the back country trails.

The fog makes for incredible lighting for the camera. I'm missing the PNW fog now that we're into the cruel dry loam summer.
Fresh from MTBing Adventures, what a nice surprise!

T1 bars are so sick. Arms feel great even after a full day of downhill
Carbon?
clear lens glasses for eye protection work as well

Thanks for the kind words!!
Great atmosphere for your ride...
Just snagged a 20pack of LMNT using your code. I hope I like it!
Looks amazing. I’ve been to the Sequoias and I’m ready to head back!
I love this MTB trip and this trip, it's a shame my bike is gone
Love this place.
When you can quote an Eagles song during a sweet descent you know you're living the life.
Rip josh

Daamn I luv trailing

Very cool!!
Did i miss a bike check on this new looking steed? It looks SIC!!
Just had an indecision crash the other day at my local trails, i see the roots and my brain goes dial up speed
Lost in the deep forest ... I want it too ..!
Awesome ride!
Amazing video!
amazing track!

That’s great to hear! If you google BKXC video gear my page with all my GoPro stuff pops up!
Awesome epik trail
Must be chilly since you got some gloves on 🙌
Lots of us wear gloves all the time (because shit happens).
Wish to have a mountain bike like you men

Wild
An idea that I am sure you have thought about..... Rate your trails on the site from Trail1 to Trail3....
That’s just such a sexy looking bike.
What stem are you running? The bronze looks sick with the bike accents 🤘🏼

We need an update on your SRAM Transmission debacle…….?!?!
I ❤️ moutain cycling 🚴
how is the axs transmission running now youve had it a while? did you fix the issues you had in installation video?
What's the drive like to the trailhead? Did your van (if that's what you drove) negotiate it OK?
Foxgloves aren't common over there?! They always remind me of camping with Dad back in the day.
Nope. They're not native--from Europe!
There must be some good rogue trails around there..
I doubt it. It's pretty isolated.
@@LoamReaperthere’s tons if you can find a local. Grasshopper ridge, Benbow area, even right off of Avenue o.t. Giants.
Cancer sucks, sorry about your friend Josh. That’s why we ride, because you never know what tomorrow brings.
Another foggy Video: ua-cam.com/video/OWl-4cZVV18/v-deo.html
guys good video what is bikes name ?

Dang, where do you live?! The US isn't actually as safe as people think it is, but the dangerous parts are mostly just the bigger cities, in the city.
Haha, let's just say it ain't anywhere near the States or Europe.
That $4.99 gas is a gut puncher. Eek.
casually riding your bike:
*suddenly saw slenderman~
😅
Hey BKXC when Slovakia? :)
Surprised you didn't run into any skin walkers during the ride.
no jumps? no air time?
What type of mountain bike are you using?
bkxc.bike/ripmo-v2s
Clear lenses best lenses.
The dream is to see a fellow mountain biker, chased by a mountain lion for a good hundred meters.
Great Trails out that way, but you can keep your $5 a Gallon Gas Prices!
Super ride 🚴🚵🚵🚴🚴🚵🚵 love ❤from India🇮🇳🇮🇳
Biggest Butts 😂
I’m mostly a XC guy but can’t say that doesn’t look fun
this is like textbook xc
why pay to camp if its public land??
Trail looks sick!
But LMNT is much too sweet for an european like me. Of its hot i would puke if i would take the whole package
F¥€k cancer my wife is fighting for her life right now, Dr. Gave her a year ago to live 14 months ago and she is doing great
wtf thit he just say whit cancer 3:00
bears are the exact reason id never go mountain biking without a glock on a chest holster, stay safe out there man👍
haha Okay. Black bears are very common in CA and bad encounters are extremely rare. You should probably stay on the couch if you think you need a gun!
I'd rather ride 5 miles of nothing, than not ride at all
You have an amazing channel! Let's be friends🤙🏻
