First, a curious design quirk you can make use of. If you crouch, enemies can't engage your operators over cover and vice versa. It's one hack to get your operators to hold fire and not shoot unaware enemies in the back while you're still getting into position. Your operators will also not shoot if they are crouched while moving. This is a fun map for excessive grab'em by the belt buckle tactics. Half the team can cover the east and west side of the first building while the others dash towards the northern wall where they are relatively safe as any counter-attacking defenders are cut down if they leave the building or circle around it. From there you can blast a hole into the northern storage room and quickly overwhelm any defenders still in the building. Of course, we assume the intel on the hostage position and room layout is as definitive as the game suggests.
I didn't really like it tbh. It was cooler if every soldier you choose was unique. Eventually they're all identical when you put the time to spade them.

Man, I really loved this series for brushing up on my tactics. This game is a uniquely powerful training tool. Id really like to hear your thoughts on how often hand to hand is something you have to worry about in CQB. Like being charged by a dude with a knife or having your weapon manipulated by the enemy.
nice! i was affraid you switched to Hell let loose. For me this is the fun in strategy and tactics.... there is one problem with so many solutions to it
Lmao i just blasted through the building with 2 grenadiers in this mission. This game is fun, especially when u breach through walls which are not supposed to be breached
Picked up the game a few days ago and just now discovered your channel. I was pleasantly surprised that before watching these extremely helpful videos I'd already been implementing most of these tactics. Looking forward to the next ones!
For real thanks for this series, I love this game(and its predecessor) but was horrible at it, listening to you explain the tactics of how and why has definitely improved my success in this game.
Dude, this vid was early December and you're saying you recently passed 10k subs. I'm watching in July of the following year(8 months later) and you're at 61.4k. Holy fucking shit man, that's incredible. Happy for you, bud. Love all the content you put out. Reaaaaalllllly been digging this Door Kickers playlist over the last couple weeks since I discovered it. Keep 'em coming man!
The way you commentate your videos for this game is perfect. I was watching a playthrough of the Kamil Pasha Market mission from another content creator and all I could think about was "I can't wait to see how Controlled Pairs is going to solve this one!"
"So as a military force has no constant formation, water has no constant shape; the ability to gain victory by changing and adapting is called genius." -Sun Tzu btw, you ever read the art of war? Great book and remarkably short if you read a translation without commentary.
This is pretty good 👍 another great vid as usual. I'd have probably put a saw gunner to hold security behind that first truck on that northeastern angle while having 2 riflemen moving down that eastern flank and have the other guys secure that western flank after securing northern side of the building which is basically What u did here lol. Good to know I got ppl that think like me in this game
Great video as always! Just wanted to give you a heads up, the next level was very tough for me. Some enemies are armed with SR3-M assault rifles firing AP ammo. These absolutely annihilated any of my guys that took hits, killing them in 1-3 shots. Combined with their fairly fast acquisition time, they were incredibly deadly. Not sure if this is intended behavior, but it took me quite a few tries to complete the mission. Good luck!
I’d like it for planning if you had a “straight line” function, I don’t love the freehand style of drawing paths because it looks a little sloppy sometimes. Plus maybe a “match to” function, where if you plot a path for one soldier you can attach another to that path if you need multiple angles covered
I’m hooked. Been binging your videos since i found you, might get the game soon - ofcrouse through your link. Btw, what’s your background? You’re really knowledgeable with tactics, got me curious
i am not the pro guy at these knowledge, and its a really good video for that, but hope thats more picture or graphic or the in game system to help improve those too. 8:21 i would just put the blue guy behind the vehicle there, 12:00 after clearing the building, why not go out from the bottom, and use it as cover to do the cross fire?
Excellent as always! Have you played the old "SWAT 4" game? It's pretty ancient now but I'd be interested to see if you can implement your tactics there. It's basically Door Kickers but in first-person and you still have squad control like this.
I wanna see like a player vs player doorkickers. The game starts as a prep phase where you make a plan to attack or defend (depending on what team you are on) Then both teams plans play out for a certain amount of time or maybe firat contact Then you have another prep phase, Watch that play out, Repeat until one of the teams wins
What’s the thoughts on having a ladder to see over compound walls.? Depending on the raid, we’d use ladders with DM’s to cover the outside area while the assault team breaches.
Hmm, seems kind of pointless having marksmen in game if the basic assault class is able to hit cross compound targets reliably. Perhaps they become more viable late game when the enemy types (presumably and based off Door Kickers 1) become more difficult and more heavily armoured? If not, maybe they should've gone with a breacher class instead and make certain weapons/equipment primarily available to them. Really enjoying the series though, man. Definitely earned yourself a new subscriber from me.
@@ControlledPairsGaming Ah, true. The maps did start opening up a fair bit in the mid to late game of the first game, so I should expect it will be the similar in the sequel.
