@Black republican guy His wife should give him an allowance. If she is even still around, she needs to run the finances. Just about everything on the extras list, he thought was essential. He saw a credit card as extra money. This guy will put them in the poor house.
They should separate their accounts if they want to stay married. She can save her own money and he can spend his. I understand she is still responsible for his debt but a judge will hold him responsible for his debt during divorce proceedings if the accounts are separate.
19:51 You know it's bad when Gail said to their face that the marriage won't last. And I agree. Guy knows, for time being, Juila is gonna deal with his lies, excuses, gambling, and just bad behavior, so he's not going to change. While Guy acts like jerk, resentment will grow and Juila may file for divorce. However, on the other hand? I dont think Juila gonna do that. She doesn't want to leave to Guy, which is her choice and I respect that. But I hope she realizes that Guy will not improve. He has no reason. Guy has lied, deceived, fallen into addiction and Juila has said, "Imma stick beside him." Why would he change when he could stay the same?
This episode shows what financial harassment is. Her husband is nuts and freeloader. Hope this opens her eyes and decide what is best for her and her child.
I think you’re right because I knew a man exactly like him years ago. He has the same demeanor and attitude. The body language is so similar that it’s astounding.
I was married to someone like Guy. He didn’t gamble but he had no problem racking up credit card debt. His attitude was you only go around once so forget saving and buy it now. Like Gail, I was placed in the mother/shrew role, trying to explain that all we were doing was paying the interest, because we could only afford to make minimum monthly payments. The marriage ended in divorce (the ultimate separation of spousal finances), and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I am now retired with a good pension…and no credit card debt. Having said this, watching these episodes is instructional and makes me realize I can be more disciplined with my own finances.
Good for you for having the good sense (and the strength) to leave him. With his terrible spending habits, you might have ended-up needing to work well into your senior years!!
Yes such a good idea, either money for the child's education or an account at a divorce lawyer. He is a gambler, narcissist and a liar. What a horrendous episode. He will leave her bankrupt and broken hearted, not to mention, he will simply leave her for the next money ticket he finds.

He contradicted himself in the same sentence....he snarkly said he shouldn't pay off the debt so he could quit his second job, and spend more time with his child...then immediately said his child was more important than anything
"We don't need a huge chunk in a savings account, just sitting there" yeah, he's a complete idiot. Those men force you to be their mommy and then chastise you for it. I hope she made it out.
Yeah, having that unnecessarily large chunk of money will just be really stupid when all the credit cards are maxed out and your furnace blows up in the middle of January in CANADA!
This is about where me and my husband are at minus the gambling. 2 yo daughter, we own a home, and I’m the mother figure and finance manager. When she said it’s hard to be intimate when you fight all the time about money, I FELT THAT OMG. I literally cannot have any amount of desire for intimacy. It’s awful.
So sorry. Have you tried the jar method or cash envelope system with him? That should help with variable spending, just make the budget realistic/not too tight. 🙏🏽
Councelling is always a good option. It will pay itself back eventually by basically forcing you to move forward towards some kind of solution. When you are stuck in a situation it's so hard to make changes on your own, I find it so much easier when there is a third party present and we all agree to do specific changes.
My big question.. why did they get married with having such different view point about money management? Didn't she know this before they tied the knot?
@@michelecleansup i think you may be right. At the end she chose to stay with him knowing hes not going to change. I was feeling for her, but she is choosing to stay and mother the situation.
Absolutely shocking man, and he is a teacher? What values does he demonstrate to his students? Deception? Selfishness? Lying and cheating? He is an abuser, financially and otherwise. “Hope your daughter doesn’t forget who you are”?
He is a gym teacher - what values are in sports? Nothing - the sports players are abusive, into drugs, cheat, rape and get away with all of it. They learn that behavior is good from somewhere and we were looking at one of their role models. Never marry someone into sports. Have the fun with them and make sure you don't get pregnant and walk away. They are not the ones you marry.
Oh, he wasn't smirking the entire time. He got visibly pissed off when Gail told Julia about creating a firewall between their finances to protect herself and he got upset when Gail straight-up said their marriage wouldn't last. Probably because he doesn't want his credit card cash cow to disappear out of his life.
He is not good-looking enough to be such a jerk. I’m really trying to see what she sees in him. I hope she got out and found a man who deserves a good woman like her.
I'm so glad Juila was able to have a girls night out and just enjoy herself Guy, the jerk, doesn't understand the danger he's putting his family through with his unhealthy spending habits.

He looked dead behind his eyes. His poor wife. I hope she realises she deserves so much better. There cannot be another woman alive who would put up with his crap. He is 100 percent selfish and even steal from his daughters entertainment pot so he can gamble with the boys.
This is the first time that I've hoped for the show to end with an actual official divorce. No sign online of an update.... I want the comfort of knowing she turfed him out and sent him packing with his sports kit; sofa surfing on his besties couches. I know that we are years on from when this was filmed but I still found myself wanting to throw something through the screen to knock some sense into his head!
Gail said it all at the end. He is an irresponsible man child. I am afraid his wife loves being his mommy. I don't need an update on this story. Bankruptcy for the both of them, unless she wakes up. I feel sorry for their child.
I'm the kind of person that holds out hope for change. It's even harder when I love someone. For this reason, I understand where she is at. Because I'm on the outside looking in, I say run for the hills as fast as you can. I can see that he is the kind of person that is very unlikely to ever change. He is the kind that I don't give multiple chances to. I really hope that she eventually came to terms with the fact that he won't change and it's not her job to change him. I hope she left him.
2:24 How about your wife, your child, your family? Your family is suffering because your actions. Change and progress is hard, but you have remember who you're doing it for.
When Gail mentioned at 5:09 "if the interest rate goes up 2% then you loose your home." Here in the US post Covid, the Fed, for the last few months, has hiked the IR and I'm sure a lot of people have or are in the process of loosing their homes. Thank God our family has a fixed rate mortgage.
Just rewatched the last 2 minutes. He had a month to get his crap together with $5,000 on the line and he couldn't do it. I have a feeling option number three didn't happen if it couldn't when it really mattered. Perhaps neither one of them was ready to break their patterns of behavior, be it spending money or being the victim.
Gosh, Gail just gives it to them straight. I would have pulled the woman aside and told her her options. But i guess this way, there is no room for a misunderstanding. This episode was like watching an accident about to happen. I couldn’t look away….
Wow. I truly feel for the wife and their daughter. If anything, this is confirmation that marrying the wrong person is FAR worse than being single, happy, and responsible.
I feel pity for her, she does not love herself or her child. Gail told her it was not going to work, she was probably also told by her friends and family that he was a loser and a relationship with him was not going to work. HE even told her in words and actions it was not going to work. This is a classic case of delusion: “i can change him”, “he will change for me”.
He’s bad, but she stays with him. Why, I cannot imagine. She needs to grow a backbone and leave him. Gail pretty much told her that, but she’s in denial up to her eyeballs. I’d be shocked if they were still together
It’s not so easy to leave. That’s another way women are victimized when we ask “why doesn’t she leave him?”. It’s hard if you’ve not been there to understand. And it’s seem illogical as to how she stays. But, Why not ask why he behaves the way he does? Why won’t he change? It’s backhanded way we blame the victim.
@@jennamont6618 she's responsible for herself. Removing all responsibility from her means she has no agency of her own, that's not reality, & means someone has to rescue her. It's not blaming the victim, but recognising she's given away her independence- she's the only one who can reclaim it
His "Absentee mother, I hope your daughter doesn't forget who you are" comment is so sick. Especially when she was doing what he does everyday. He should wake up one day with both of them gone, he still wouldn't understand why they'd leave but at least she would be financially solid without this waste of a man.
My heart breaks for that woman, and she has the patient of a saint and I get it she doesn’t want to break up her family. But eventually I feel, she will open her eyes and leave. It may not be immediately, it may be when their daughter is like 20 years old and on her own, but it will happen.
He would be easy to leave. He’s spending his free time with his buddies anyway. Seems like he doesn’t want to be married since his actions speak volumes.
Spending a little money here and there? Sixty thousand dollars later... he's taking money out of his child's funds. With him, you will never have anything. He lives for today.
Gambling is a very dangerous addiction. I know because I was addicted to slots in my late teens into my early 20s. I stole things from my parents, pawned their belongings to support my addiction. I maxed out on my credit cards and did whatever I could to gamble. I haven't gambled for 15+ years now. Gambling destroy people and everyone around them.

@Black republican guy His wife should give him an allowance. If she is even still around, she needs to run the finances. Just about everything on the extras list, he thought was essential. He saw a credit card as extra money. This guy will put them in the poor house.
@@Proud5050man contribute to what? His gambling debt?
He's dragging her down.
He may not allow her to have friends.
She’s a plain Jane; she probably thinks she can’t get anyone else!

This couple didn't deserve any money because of the Man child Guy. But I have only seen Gail not give a check to 1 other couple.
She probably didn't.
That never will happen, person like that, like to save others, the problem is not him is her , for be with him.
This episode shows what financial harassment is. Her husband is nuts and freeloader. Hope this opens her eyes and decide what is best for her and her child.

@@sneakerfreak2002yep. But not back then. The show is 15 years old
I think you’re right because I knew a man exactly like him years ago.
I love Gail. I wish she had given the wife a check to deposit into her personal checking account to cover the divorce. And given Guy nothing.
Gail didnt seem to realize gambling is very serious.
Yes such a good idea, either money for the child's education or an account at a divorce lawyer. He is a gambler, narcissist and a liar. What a horrendous episode. He will leave her bankrupt and broken hearted, not to mention, he will simply leave her for the next money ticket he finds.

Those men force you to be their mommy and then chastise you for it. I hope she made it out.
He's got a baby and he thinks there's no need to save?!!!
It’s awful.
Perhaps try single and couple counseling.
I’m sorry, that sounds awful. Nobody deserves that. I hope you can find a solution.
Well you've acknowledged the issue, so if you don't leave you're choosing this.
Wish they did updates it would be interesting to see how long it took before she started being realistic about him
how long it took for her to pack her things and run away
My big question.. why did they get married with having such different view point about money management? Didn't she know this before they tied the knot?
Probably not. It's hard to ask the tough questions when you have hearts on your eyes.

This man is ill qualified to be around children in any capacity.
He waa turning all red when Gail suggested the wife keeps her finances seperate ... lol
And the episode ends with Guy making a snarky remark about her willingness to work with him.
RUN, JULIA! RUN!!!
He’s basically saying “I’m not going to change, so it’s as Gail said: if you want me, you’re just going to have to take it and stop whining.”
Did anyone notice how the Man Child had a snarky grin on his face the whole time? I sure hope she left him right after this show!
Right?! He's like a literal child.
He probably never imagined that he would eventually live on in UA-cam Land long after the episode aired on TV. 🤭
Everything is a joke to him. Including his own wife and child. She doesn't deserve this.
He is not good-looking enough to be such a jerk. I’m really trying to see what she sees in him. I hope she got out and found a man who deserves a good woman like her.
And she's pretty, too I really don't understand, like he brings absolutely nothing to the table, she makes more than him too.
I thought the same 😆
He’s so homely and she’s lovely. He brings absolutely nothing to the table.
There's no possible way these two are still together. Money is the #1 cause of marriage problems and divorce and these two are complete opposite.

Gail said it all at the end. He is an irresponsible man child. I am afraid his wife loves being his mommy. I don't need an update on this story. Bankruptcy for the both of them, unless she wakes up. I feel sorry for their child.
Yeah. Maybe she likes being the mummy
That child IS being raised in chaos. It will show up in her therapy sessions when she gets older.
Unfortunately, they had very little to bankrupt. About 12 grand, it looks like. Student loans are not bankruptable and the mortgage is protected.
Your cute too ;)!).
And he literally said she didn’t have the choice that he stops his crap
Gosh, Gail just gives it to them straight. I would have pulled the woman aside and told her her options. But i guess this way, there is no room for a misunderstanding. This episode was like watching an accident about to happen. I couldn’t look away….
I hope Gail pulled Julia off screen at the very least to chat about this.
Well Gail does tell her her options at the end and Julia "chooses" a third alternative... she was either trapped or avoiding the truth.
He will NEVER change Julia
Daylight savings time has me three hours late to this episode. I’m hooked!!!
This Guy would never get a high value woman like this in my country. Julia I hope you value yourself moving forward
Love how Gail told him. She’ll get sick of it eventually. He’s not going to change. His last statement of her third choice tells it all.
Please note. Teachers don't really have the summer off. We are working from home. Planning units for the new year.
He’s bad, but she stays with him. Why, I cannot imagine. She needs to grow a backbone and leave him. Gail pretty much told her that, but she’s in denial up to her eyeballs. I’d be shocked if they were still together
She is desperate and insecure.
She probably watched her mother and father have the same type of relationship so to her it’s normal but to us we’re like girl you’re crazy leave
@@jennamont6618 she's responsible for herself. Removing all responsibility from her means she has no agency of her own, that's not reality, & means someone has to rescue her. It's not blaming the victim, but recognising she's given away her independence- she's the only one who can reclaim it
