Hearing him refer to the truck as "his baby" while he has a wife, a baby, and another one on the way, shows me exactly where his priorities are at. I don't get people who value a vehicle over their spouses/children.

We had friends who had a very large family. The father made really, really good money, house free and clear, kids were polite, well educated, well adjusted. I hadn’t seen them for several months. When I ran into them, mom was noticeably (six months or so) pregnant. I hugged her and congratulated her and she burst into tears. I was the only person who had congratulated her. And my husband’s grandmother had sixteen. Both of them lived in two room houses without running water. “I’m pregnant.” “Congratulations. How are you feeling?” Then shut up and listen
@@mermaidstears4897 I was pregnant unexpectedly after years of infertility. I can’t explain how happy I was. As it happens I had just left my job and accepted a new job abroad. I couldn’t care less that the apartment was small or my new job was at risk. People can be so horrible.

Yeah I don't get this one. Doesn't she already have a kid? Shouldn't she still have her maternity clothes from the last pregnancy? Why does she need new ones?
They are in the same place we were in 4 years ago! 40,000 in debt and making less than 70,000. We pulled out of our debt and now have an emergency fund! It took us 2 years to get out of debt.
What she has, selling MLM makeup, is a hobby jobbie. She needs something real. Even if she just babysat someobe else's kids or cleaned houses with her kid in tow, she'd make more.
Yes, a more consistent income is a good idea, and childcare might work if she was home with kids anyhow (their kids are probably teenagers by now), but cleaning someone's house with little kids in tow? As a house cleaner I can confirm that that's pretty much impossible. It wouldn't work for the clients and it certainly wouldn't work for the clients' houses!
Exactly. She "sells" makeup. No, your upline sells you makeup and you hope you can pass it along before the credit card bill is due. She'd make more working the makeup counter at Shoppers Drug Mart.
I absolutely buy it for her, she's too immature to have been older. I want to know his age. I didn't see it and I am guessing he is in his early 30s...which makes the age of the baby problematic
I can relate to this young couple so much. I've been with my husband since we were 16 and after building a house and career and 4 kids later I can definately say there is never a perfect time to have a child. This couple will do great in life after this experience at such a young age. They seem honest and they have grit.

WHY is no one talking about the fact that this woman is in MARY KAY, one of the oldest MLMs out there?! GIRL DON'T PUT THAT ON YOUR RESUMÉ, no legitimate employer takes that seriously!! This is probably a huge contributing factor to their overall debt, as statistically most people in MLMs spend HELLA more than they ever make back, ESPECIALLY in Mary Kay, as you are required to keep tons of inventory. This should be the absolute first thing to go. Im kinda surprised the episode didn't revolve around that in some way.
I don't think the show can legally call out the mlm scams straight up without being sued coz there was another episode with an mlm hun and she didn't address it directly but she did bring it up in way like she did with these guys

Yeah, Mary Kay does require its distributors to keep inventory all the time. But there are other direct sales companies that don’t require you to purchase starter kits, meet quotas, etc.
I do feel a little bad that he had to build that house of cards on top of quitting smoking and working the extra hours. Quitting smoking is hard work, I’ve seen Gail provide additional support such as therapy and hypnosis for other episodes, it might have helped him with his attitude
Aww, I'm so happy they turned it around at the end! They're so young and obviously haven't had the right guidance up till that point. I hope they were able to get more sound advice after debt was cleared so they could build for the future and be able to "change their family tree" as they say at Ramsey HQ.
It's a little bit alarming to me to have children so young. I know it's perfectly normal in a lot of the world, but none of my friends have had babies before about 28, and mostly in mid 30s. It seems like they really pulled it together at the end - that's really wonderful for them, and I'm impressed that he managed to give up smoking, which I know is very hard.
A lot of my friends did the same, and waited until their thirties. However, I would say 1 in 3 had fertility issues, and doctors told them that they should have started sooner. So, I guess, it's never the perfect time to have a child.
If you wait until your mid-30s, you are much, much more likely to encounter fertility issues. At 35, women have lost most of their eggs and the onset of menopause is an estimated 5 years away. There are pros and cons to conceiving at different ages.
When he said they weren’t trying to have a child but that they weren’t doing anything to prevent it… I just shook my head! I heard a doctor tell me that people who use no birth control are called…. Parents! Good grief. If you’re fighting and money is short, it’s pretty selfish (or lazy - in the short term- lazy now = a child for life, which is a ton of work.)
People, especially those with a limited budget, really should do all they can to breastfeed. And also clothe diaper. This show seems to assume everyone uses formula and disposable diapers and I never hear her say "you can save this many HUNDREDS by breastfeeding for at least the first 6 months."
Knowing how much you make per month after taxes is crucial. Saying " I don't know" is unacceptable So happy she started a new job that was actually the answer.
There are around 2 billion Mom's in the world that are "full-time Mom's", but most of us still work full-time to bring in income one way or another, geesh... it's just not an excuse anymore.
Once this family gets back on track and is debt free PLUS ahead of the game financially, Kevin can buy another truck. Also...Mary Kay is an MLM. It is absolutely not going to create any substantial income, and it may cause further debt if it demands money to be a "representative" and have stock of the products. Nononono.
