I really can't thank you enough. I'm a graphic designer and I'm just starting to delve into the world of animation, modelling and vfx and I've felt so overwhelmed - I'm starting by learning Houdini which so many people have advised me against. It's so hard to find information on where to begin, what to learn alongside Houdini, what I should pour my focus into if I want to land my first job a few years down the line... My free time is precious and I want to make sure I invest it well - Your videos are answering so many questions I've had in such a concise manner, it's like I stumbled upon a channel that's putting all of my worries at ease.
That's great to read @EileenSloane . I'm glad that this video was able to find you then :) You'll find a lot of people that will advise you against Houdini, but that's a reason why there's more opportunity. Less people who are good at it + increasing studio demand = future opportunity. It can be a rough learning curve at first, but once you get past that, it becomes a lot of fun and you'll become much stronger CGI artist because of it. Good luck with your studies! - Tyler
Got directed to you from a random Reddit post. I already know I'm going to enjoy going through your "Houdini for the New Artist" course. However, even though I'm registered on your site, I can't download or print your CGI Jumpstart guide. It seems like any of those options are disabled in your course page via the PDF viewer. Am I missing something? Or is this by design?
Hey Julian, thanks for checking out the course. It looks like the pdf link wasn't working properly for that resource, but I just fixed it. Look for the red paperclip icon next to the module or at the top right of the screen.
@@cgforge Thx for the quick response! I'm definitely appreciating the course so far! I'm coming from an Archvis type job so always looking to expand my skillset. Currently we're working on several large developments and I'm the only CAD / Rendering guy in the company. The workload is immense and falls entirely on me. So the dream is to be able to make procedural houses, townhomes, and apartments, that I can drop into UE 5.5 quickly and be able to easily change them based on the lot size/shape. This would make it so much easier to populate an entire 135ac+ development for animated fly throughs/overs. No idea if the dream is feasible or not but the learning process is challenging fun. Thx again!!
This is one of the best video have seen so far!
