Thank you. !! The solution works. The small gear of my printer just moved more to the edge. So i just had to push it back in place and it everything works.

Thanks for this video. The solution works for CP1200 as well. The small gear moved to the edge and i just had to move it back. Save me money from buying another printer.

Absolutely fantasatic video, congrats.
Just let me add....
- first of all it seems to work with many Selphy printers, also CP710 or CP510 - they all look similar inside and the issue is always the same
- in many cases it seems the gear is not really broken but it just moved to the edge. In this case, it's enough to move it back with a little screwdriver
If that is the case, you don't have to go as far with the reassembly as you see in the video.
After removing the chassis from the case, you can already reach the gear and push it back... so you don't have to remove the top PCB and you don't have to remove the motor assembly.

it didnt work on mine...idk maybe i've do something wrong but the ink cartridge is still stuck. Any advice on what can i do?
im not wasting my time just to take the whole thing apart to find the problem! i thought this video was going to be an easier simple fix like maybe a hard reset or something without taking anything apart

Merci !!! ca résout non seulement ce problème de cassette bloquée, mais tout ce que le mécanisme qui est lié a cette petite roue : la languette avant pour la charge du papier, le problème de blocage d'impression après la couleur jaune et le défaut d'impression sur une partie de la photo ! pour ma part, une goutte de super glue sur l'axe, puis remise du rouage a sa place jusqu'au bout. Mille mercis !
Worked great with a drop of superglue ! If you ended here like me, just know its a common problem for these printers. Not only this moddel but a ton of these things have that production problem. Mine is a cp760 and same mechanic and problem.

With all the different models of the selphy printers, they all have the same issue. The single point of failure is a little gear. I wonder if that's their ploy for people to buy another rather than try and fix?

My Sony DPP-FP67 seems to be the exact same printer with the same issue. The cartridge wont eject without me taking it apart partially and moving the gear manually.
Was it the little gear was to loose on the motor to turn the big gear back home?

Thank you for this video, and thank you to the person who suggested buying the new metal gear from Germany. I was able to find the gear online via ebay from user goldenking2000... it arrived from Austria after a few weeks. "Zahnrad 10T (Gear replacement) für Canon Selphy Drucker CP900 CP810 CP120 Zahnrad 10T (Gear replacement) für Canon Selphy Drucker CP900 CP810 CP1200" Using these instructions put in the new gear. (I had to use a hammer to get the metal gear to stick on the spindle, being careful to have something at the other side of the spindle so I wasn't hammering anything else!) (Note to anyone else: I sure wish I put it all back together while waiting for the gear. By the time I got back to the project, I forgot what screws went where; how the spring connected, etc! I wish I'd closed it all up and opened it again today! But anyway, using this video I was still able to figure it all out.)
Humorously, one can buy a whole Selphy printer on ebay for the price of a screw that is mailed from Europe to the USA! I saw Selphys listed for $12 with $20 shipping and $20 with $11 shipping today... I'm happy I fixed mine though, instead of tossing it in landfill and buying a new one.
(PS -- I use a Windows 7 virtual machine running under Virtualbox on a Windows 10 PC in order to print, as I couldn't get the drivers working with W10)

It has a problem which is half right paper does not appear when printing only the left half as you can see in this picture when printing half of the paper does not appear

Right, I took a knife and pryed it out. now the entire paper transport path is jacked and it won't recognize there is paper in the cassette and it doesn't recognize new ink. POS!
I have a similar problem as this video but my printer is Sony not Canon. If I didn't have extra ink and papers I would say screw it and get a new printer. I wonder if my Sony ink works in non Sony printers?
