I’m not a writer or an entrepreneur; I’m a college student with an office job. BUT I really really love your system and I’ve been a little addicted to watching your videos lately! I will definitely try the 90 day planning to see if I can get my grades back up and start a side hobby I’ve been wanting to do for a long time!

This system can be used so universally! I'm a quilter and I have a back log of WIPs (works in process) that have been making me feel so overwhelmed, like I'll never be able to finished them all. And of course I can't finish them all at once! But if I pick just a few and make each one it's own goal with a set of tasks to complete over the next 90 days I can absolutely get those done without worrying about the rest - they'll have their own turn!! Thank you so so very much for sharing your process - the way you explain this really resonates with me and is so helpful!!

I'm a beginner at crochet but have alot of crafty projects that I need to finish. Each year I try to make most of my presents and end up cramming in thd last 3 months to get things done on time. I think applying this method to craft projects like quilting is a genius idea... Thanks for the inspiration.
I'm recovering from being bed bound with a list of chronic health challenges including chronic fatigue syndrome so I need to balance how much energy I use towards health, my house, my hobbies and other personal goals like catching up with friends and family.
I think this is a life changing lesson we all need.

LOVE this: "Writing the books and putting the books out is the #1 thing that actually makes me money and grows my career" - Sarra Cannon. I try to remember this phrase when I start to get distracted with all the other tasks that are writing-adjacent, but not actually writing. It's easy to go down a rabbit hole learning about facebook ads, or how to code a wordpress site, when I should be writing.

Oh my! I have never heard of this concept before! I am the world's worst procrastinator, but watching this has made me realise that I don't ever set real goals either. I say I want to do something but then nothing happens cause I put it off or get distracted. I think I'm going to give this a try to see if it can help keep me focussed! Thanks for the brilliant video!

I setup my kanban board in my home office and because I have an outside job, I realized that I needed to add 3 additional slides. Each slide has one goal and a table for tasks for 30/60/90 days. I could write all the tasks in my Rhodia Goalbook bullet journal but it's easier for me to print the tasks and put it in my writing big Happy Planner that I take to work with me. Thank you again for this video. I'm getting a boatload of tasks done in just a few days.

Watching in march 2024... This! This is what I need just to manage my life. I am recovering from being bed bound with a list of chronic health challenges including chronic fatigue syndrome and looking to rebuild my life. Lately I'm frustrated by spending all my time and energy (and money) on health focussed stuff and not getting my housework done or having fun or even catching up with friends and family. I've been trying to decide on how much energy I can afford to spend on each category/context without risking progress or a flare-up in my health challenges. I think I'm going to set limits for the broad categories of health, house, hobbies and fun, and personal goals.
Thankyou for being so open about how you go about planning and completing the breakdown of tasks that cover from daily tasks and add up to your 90 day goals. Life changing for me I think.
Blessings from South Eastern Australia, Dot

I'm glad to hear that you too found that a personal assistant is not always necessary.
How do you track the items that are not placed on your 90 day plan or Quarter plan? Where do you keep that information? I am a kinesthetic and visual learner. Your Kanban board interpretation example is something that I could see myself doing. I find most planning people do to be too overwhelming and minutia for the sake of minutia. But what you have here is logical and practical and something that I can see myself implementing because it is so useful. I love bright colors and I like detailed planning and touching and moving stuff. Great, great planning and organization video! It's just so very helpful. Thank you!

OMG 😱. This is freaking awesome. I've struggled for years trying to come up with ideas on how to get things organised so I know where I'm at in planning and doing all things in my life. I suffer with very bad memory problems and have recently turned to planners and this is starting to help me try and keep on top of things and to remember what needs doing but this what you have set up here looks bloody awesome. I absolutely love the idea of the system you have set up and I will definitely be giving this a go. Thank you also for explaining it in detail. I didn't think I would be able to understand it as you started explaining and thought I may need to watch again. As I got further into the video it all just sort of clicked into place and became something that really appealed to me. I will definitely be trying this so thank you so much for sharing and also for explaining it in detail 😊. Also I just downloaded your books and look forward to reading them as they are the genre I like.

Sarra - Thank you so much for this video, and for the template. It's incredibly generous of you! As a fan of The Twelve Week Year by Brian Moran, as well as Brendan Burchard's planning videos, this really resonated with me. I've tried both of their systems (all based on the 90 day idea, drilling down to weekly), but this is a much easier way to implement those strategies (and kinda in your face too - which helps! Me, at least. LOL). I'm going to choose from my current stockpile of whiteboards and whiteboard cardboard stock, and get something up. Thanks again for sharing!

i wonder if i can use this system for writing a novel - so if i have a rough idea of what needs to happen in each stage of the book and write them as i can, moving the done parts down the board

You might like to look up / google "the snowflake method" of writing novels.. It's sort of similar in you start with the big picture and slowly develop the layers. It's a way of outlining that is often recommended when completing Nanowrimo (national novel writing month) where you write the first draft of a 50, 000 word novel in 30 days.
Have a look if you are interested.
      Blessings, Dot

Hi Sara! I love the kanban method - so helpful with avoiding overwhelm. I’m another self published authortuber

I work in pharma where this is pretty standard and it's so weird but also so interesting to see it applied elsewhere

Hi! Love this method, thanks! How / when do you decide which tasks you won't* in fact do, after all?

For ideas you want to do in the next quarter but you don’t want to focus on in the current quarter, how do you track those? Do you write notes in a journal?

Wonderful!!! I'm trying to go from Full-Time employee to Full-Time Business owner and I feel like this will be a huge help. My current problem is not being organized, and deciding on what kind of business to start. Do you have a video or plan to make one in regard to how you decide which direction to move? I guess why making books was your decision (aligns with values, wants, etc.?) among any other choices. Anyway...look forward to implementing this in my life! Thanks so much (especially that 3 goal max decision)!

Love this idea. QUESTION: What happens to those sticky notes that you didn't achieve or complete? Do you completely trash them or incorporate them into your next quarter's goals? I would be distracted by what didn't get done when planning the next quarter. How do you deal with this?

    • @HeartBreathings
      @HeartBreathings  2 роки тому +1

In my review, I evaluate whether the goal/tasks are still relevant or not. If yes, I incorporate them into my new quarterly plan. If not, I recycle the post its and move on!

Hi Sarra. This video has been super helpful! I have a quick question. How do you account for things need to be learned in order to accomplish a task on your list? For example, one of the tasks you showed was to run Facebook ads - I assume you’re already familiar with how to do that but for someone who isn’t, how would you go about scheduling in time to learn how to do them in order to accomplish that task. That’s where I always get stuck. I write out my tasks, but when I come to something I need to learn how to do before I can do it, it slows me down from reaching that goal within the 90 days. Thanks for any input.
