I suspect part of the problem is fewer government inspections. I worked in a meat packing location.....year one MONTHLY visits but by the time I left it was ONE inspection every 4 months. We all know when the Cat(government oversight) the mice(corporate)will play. I even witnessed when a USDA inspector was onsight teams being told to repackage past date lunchmeat with a new date instead of destroying like they are instructed to do. They had a large team open all old packaging while inspector was on break. Disgusting but a result of not putting funds where they are needed.

When I got out of high school, I started working at a meat packing plant. I was in the pork section cutting up half pigs into hams, hocks, bacon, etc. When the pigs hanging in a LARGE cold room needed the govt. stamps, an inspector would use a hammer with the label and put the stamps on the meat. If he was busy, they would grab me and my friend, give us the hammers and ink pads. Then we were told where on the carcasses to stamp. So I can proudly say that I was a government meat inspector! Not bad for a high school education and no official training.

At that point no “whistleblower” testimony had been heard. I believe the Democrats still only have print outs of what 2 people said, and neither was to the point. So far, Jimmy hasn’t produced any whistleblowers to testify before the committee privately, let alone publicly.
