Drilling permits were given out to oil companies but they are sitting on the money and investing it in the stock market. The hardware for drilling is super expensive.

How hard is it to understand that mean tweets don’t effect my life…the price of food, gas, the mortgage rate does…I’m trying to build my home but have had to put that on hold now for 4 years because the mortgage rate is now almost 8% here in Hawaii. I am born and raised in Hawaii so have always been used to higher prices but what it is now I am to the point that I have to work 60 hour weeks plus have a weekend side job living no longer paycheck to paycheck but having to use credit to make ends meet. When Trump was in office I was able to put money away in saving, in my retirement investment accounts and pay off debts including get my student loan debt down…but now my savings have all but disappeared and I’m even having to go into my investments to pay bills to get by each month. Sorry but the idea that Trump saying and tweeting off color remarks compared to having to struggle daily is such a living completely dislocated from the everyday working class and middle class of America which shows just how much you don’t really care about those who are in need and struggling but more about winning and keeping power. Knowing that your policies don’t work and yet want to keep pushing it on the American people that are struggling each year all so you can remain in control and in power all so you can remain in the lifestyle that you have.
You have my sympathy, but as a Hawai'i voter, you must know your State will go for Biden.

In our working years we deferred compensation and saved money which we have invested in stable portfolios, that are giving us disposable income. In the last 12 years we have visited 12 countries and this year hope to do a cruise on the Viking Sky. I agree that prices are still too high and need to come down. We buy according to a need and shop at discount stores when prices are low. I think there are innovative ways in which government could help retirees. Standard deduction by IRS has increased somewhat over the years. But the amount needs to be increased even more so income tax is reduced.
The culprit is inflation which is worldwide. The Brits were paying $8 for gas while we were paying $5. Yesterday I got gas for $3,17 at BJs discount store. Insulin capped at $35 is a huge benefit that will benefit millions of diabetics.

Polls can fluctuate and republicans tend to be underrepresented in the numbers. The simplest historical signpost is the approval rating of the incumbent on election day. As of today, PEW and 538 have Biden's approval rating around 35%. That's a losing number.

Any President policies affect the cost of living, inflation etc. If it cost more to transport the goods to the market, the consumer will deal with the final cost. The producers of the goods have to afford the production, the processing and transportation of the goods. In order to cover its expenses, the producer would have to increase the final price to cover its expenses and make a profit. None is in business to loose money.😊
