I've never heard of Skully or stoop ball, but they do sound like games I would play as a kid. As for the games I did play when I was a kid, I think I remember playing hide and seek and I believe also tag.
Such a fun amount of outdoor games there was to play in the day! I remember making forts with my bro. If we were inside, we made them with pillows and blankets. We would play on the playground and see who could get the most height/swing far on the swings. I liked playing the summer best, though. We would see who could catch the most fireflies/lightning bugs at night. It was so cool/fun!
As a kid I loved the water games; Super Soakers, Water balloon fights, slip n' slide games. Just about anything to get yourself soaking wet in the Summer including garden hose, sprinklers and buckets of water
We called 'box ball' 'four corners' in the 90s but we used a kickball. Some other favorites include Duck, Duck, Goose; Red Rover; we called man hunt "behind the iron curtain" for some reason; hop skotch, roller hockey, chicken (using bikes or scooters aha)
If you are nostalgic for bike adventures I highly recommend an ebike. They make you feel like a kid again and better. I have some that are basically small dirt bikes I can ride everywhere legally.
Back when local public parks had a swimming pool for kids, we played different variants of "tag" in the pool, as well as different variants of "ball" that was like the pink one in the video but of course floated on the surface of the water. But also we played that "Marco Polo" game where the seeker was blindfolded and said "Marco" and everyone in the pool was required to say "Polo" while trying to evade being touched by the blindfolded seeker because that would mean they were "out". The last remaining player was the winner. There was also another type game that was not strictly an outdoor game, forgot what it was called. But in middle school there was a small ball filled with sand or gravel-like substance so that it wouldn't bounce, like a ball-shaped bean bag. The player tossed it in the air and then kept it from hitting the ground for as long as possible by repeatedly tossing it back up in the air using only the feet, ankles, or sometimes any body part except the hands. Tricks were also performed in this game. Truly creative individuals incorporated it with breakdancing to music.
When I would play tag or freeze tag, I HATED the thing where kids say on a count to three; "1...2...3, NOT IT" leaving me the one that is "it" and if it was hide and seek, the other kids would manipulate how high you must count when they would use their fingers behind your back and have to guess the right finger with the lower number🙄😬 You know what I'm talking about?
So, my father watched this episode and chided me for forgetting to include some other classic urban street games like "triangles." I promised another installment in the series was likely. 😛
It will never be the same again, with screens in all the kids faces. Bikes definitely were huge back when I was a kid. Great Content everyone!👍🏻🇺🇲
Sometimes boredom is the best motivator!

That all sounds superb! Great memories. Thank you for sharing that Tyneisha.

For sure. Nothing quite as relieving as some cool water on a hot day, even if it was being sprayed directly in your face. 😆
I've never heard of Skully but I think I would have loved that one as a kid. Especially making my own playing piece.
That part does sound very appealing. Thank you as always Z Man!
Oh.., yes.., it was..! It was..!🙂
Cellphones not exist in that period of time...
It was funny childhood...😊

Some fun classics you’ve mentioned there. Except “chicken”. Yikes! 😆

Very cool! We’ve seen a few around.
Me and my friends were stupid enough to play Butts/Asses Up with a Lacrosse ball. Ahhhhh youth!
😂 Would love to see a video of THAT.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was just thinking about the scene where ET and the kids are flying and then you showed a clip like 2 seconds later😂
😆 Great minds…!

Would that be Hacky Sack? I was too tall, skinny, and clumsy to play that but loved watching it.
Pool games are in a category all their own! One could spend an entire video just on those. 😆
@@smittyt414ify Yes I do believe you're right! Hacky Sack is the name. 😃

Yeah there should have been some warning or discussion on what was about to happen. 😆

😆 You’ve been reprimanded.
You forgot hop scotch
Hopscotch is another great one!
Where is Lawn Darts!?!
We cover them in our “Dangerous Toys” video. 😉
Dodge ball
Interesting. We rarely played dodgeball outside of school, but there were surely kids out there who did.
