I've been married now for 6yrs and no, it doesn't change. You will always be reminding him remove his shoes at the door and to use those cups only on special days. Here's an idea though: why not buy your starter home and you BOTH can be fixing and preparing and moving your stuff in before the wedding. Jess, just stay in your old room at your parent's until after the wedding....it's only 2 months plus you love it there. And that way you only have to move your things once not twice...except for clothes maybe. Enjoy this experience!

You could just get the house, move back in with your parents and you guys can still decorate together but none of you move in till both can. Also keep in mind that model houses are just that.. to reel you in. Starting at prices are just also that.. that’s for the bare bones of the house .. upgrades and lot premiums is where you really see the expenses.

My husband and I did the same thing. We bought the house in March. It was a build. It finished in early September and we got married in October. So we went right from our apartments to the house. I didn’t want either of us to move in without the other.
Move in with your mom and dad til the wedding. And yall decorate between now and then. That's what me and my husband did during our engagement. We did everything on God's time as well.

Jess, My husband and I were in a similar situation before we got married except ours was an apartment. I moved in two months before our wedding bc my lease was up at the old place and I had no other choice lol. You’re gonna blink and that time will go by so fast, it’s not gonna feel like it’s your place. He’s going to help set up the place (paint, furniture etc.) and he’ll be moving in his stuff here and there. So he’s always gonna be there anyway. Definitely felt like it belonged to both of us as soon as he moved in. Maybe you can sleep in a guest room or something until he moves in and you guys can spend your actual first night together in your marital bed 😉
Oouuuuu this is kinda encouraging lol and it makes sense honestly. Cuz I don’t want to be paying rent and mortgage eat the same time and the other option is to move back home with my parents for two months but that’s almost two hours away 😭 so you between you and me, that sounds like the new plan 😂💕

You can always see if the landlord will allow you to do month to month until you’re really ready to move in. FYI… month to month may cost more but it can meet that need. Just an option for you to explore. Regarding the extra cost for the lot, it’s customary for builders to charge a lot premium (more desirable location for the home) OR just a separate cost for the lot (that’s more common with custom building). At any rate I’m super happy and excited for you!!! Blessings 😘

Yup south Florida house prices are insane, we considered moving but that consideration did not last long at all due to family and friends, but sheesh, it’s crazy out here lol
1. they are all beautiful 2. I really like the 1st one but the 2nd is dope 3. They're all too expensive 4. They cost too much for them little closets-i need an extra room as a closet, extra space 🤭..I enjoyed the video, good luck ❤🙏🏽

GIRLLL!!!! My husband stays with his shoes on in our apartment. We are currently building our first home & I have told him fifteen-levenity times to practice taking his shoes off at the door because I can not having him doing that in our HOUSE! We are building a ranch/one level home too but finishing the basement! We love it how much space and sq footage it is HOWEVER the Denver housing market is WILLDD!! I think everywhere is skyrocketing, luckily, we were locked into our contract price back in June of 2021, the base price of our house has gone up 60K already and luckily we were locked in. But we getting money and instant equity so I'm not mad lol

Some places will let do monthly rent without renewing a lease agreement. Just ask and see.
Just do month to month on the lease until then. And it's only 2 months... It is more expensive but you don't be tied down to finding a place too quickly

Also..I've been married for several yrs now and we've tried to live off of one salary even though we both work. It is not always easy but it gives us the freedom to work to live vs live to work.

If I can give you some advice. Please watch out for HOA’s especially in Florida. Some offer the phone, cable and Internet. HOA’s can be high but just because they offer those incentives doesn’t mean is a good idea. Some communities even have the lawn mowing and pool service included in the HOA fees. Trust me ! Watch the HOA, with high HOA fees and taxes on top of that. Good lord! But hey if you can afford it. Go for it😀

My friend and her hubby purchased their home a few months before the wedding and furnished it also. But neither stayed their until after the wedding.
With me being married 25 years, y’all are going to have to be on the same page, no more single life, if you want things to work, but if God is first in your marriage than it will last, that how ours last, and stay in love, remember this, that marriage is work!!
Those the first two house's were nice. I say get your house built from the ground up instead of settling for something your not happy with. I open concept house's because it's open. I love the Jack & Jill bathroom's with a huge mirror and the shower has to be big enough for two with his & her shower head's. Now if you buy a house under budget you can take the money you saved and remodel it. You can always fine a bigger apartment and save money then buy your house.
