Thai language isn't hard in grammar, but hard in tone of word. The melody of word will make foreigners confuses easily. But don't worry if you guys come to Thailand and try to communicate with ppl in Thai, every with help and Thai ppl love the foreigners who try to speak in Thai
im farang who love going to Thailand I have had over 100 hours of thai classes. I love trying to speak thai with thai people. I still have a lot to learn specially with tones but I love it.
Very correct. Thai people really appreciate others completely screwing up the language but TRYING to get it right. I dont get that any more cause i speak to well to be a begginer.
True, I had a hard time explaining on the buss that I wanted to go to tuk Chang, (elephant building) the tuk was pronounced durk, got there in the end with the help of people on the buss, everybody helped, that's what thailand is about... 🇹🇭👍

You’re really an ambassador of your culture Pailin. Thank you for this. Although I love the way Thai language sounds, I have a very tough time imitating it. I’ll keep trying. 👍
Sawadee ka. I was adopted from Bangkok by Swedish parents when I was 6 weeks old and grew up in Sweden speaking Swedish as my mother tounge, so now I'm trying to learn my native language Thai and culture
I love you're cooking videos, as well as your language classes. They're short, sweet, and complete. Considering that I live here in Thailand, these phrases are excellent for me to begin with. It's so important that we all try to learn the basics, to show respect to our host country and people. The Thai people have been awesome family and I, and I'm happy to reciprocate that.
You are good lady, I am very much pleased. Your voice is very sweet and melodious. None other than you explained the basic principles as you. Thank you very much.
I love your lesson, because it’s nice to hear your voice and its nice to see you, I mean easy to the eyes and ears. Please do more. I’m sending this video to my daughter who is half Thai and can’t speak thai.
You're a really good teacher! As you speak both English and Thai like a native, you can explain things far better than a lot of other teachers out there. More language lessons would be great
Thanks for this video! My friend traveled to Thailand for this first time in February and has been corresponding with a woman he met while there. I’ve been trying to teach him some phrases but you’ve summed everything up perfectly. For yes/no questions, I sometimes just answer with a “ka” as a positive acknowledgement of the question. Mainly this is when speaking to my parents or their friends, but as you said, it’s situational. Looking forward to more language videos!
Wow, thank you so much Pailin! I love the way you explain things. From your cooking to languages. It's always very well articulated, thoughtful and easy to understand for international audiences. You have a gift. Looking forward to see more Thai language video tutorials such as this! :)
You are my hero, just saying. I don't get a lot of guests or clients from Thailand at my job (cruise terminals) but when I do, I get a lot of smiles when I say hello in Thai! Thank you!!!!

i watched heaps of ‘learn thai’ vids before my last trip, but you are the first ever to just explain that krub can just be shortened to kub. Thankyou, it has confused me for a while now
I mostly learnt very basic Thai, just enough to order from street food vendors and restaurants/markets. It's good to understand the context of what I'm saying though, so thanks for the tips!
being in Thailand since December makes me appreciate your (incredible) English!! Wow. Would love to meet a Thai person with your English skills! Khap Kun Krub!
This is excellent. I love Thai language. Your clear explanations are very helpful - particularly the "ground rules" you laid out up front which are things that have confused me but you cleared up nicely!

I just visited Thailand 3 weeks ago and had a good time. Thanks for your first Thai Lesson. Please continue to do more, Kha pon Krup 🙏
The explanation for there being no "please" was very useful. I've been looking for this for a while! I'm a big fan of your cooking videos and have been cooking Thai meals from your recipes for 6 months (7 days a week). You make cooking very easy - so I'm interested in your language videos too, as I am also learning. It would help if you could include the Thai script too - as I'm trying to avoid romanised versions of the words! Looking forward to the next video :)
I have a Thai friend and haven't seen her in months, so when I saw her tonight I greeted her with Sawaddee krub, she was surprised and I let her borrow your cookbook, she also has a love of tiny tools... She wonders if it's a Thai trait? Kind of funny to come home and see you out this video up. Great video thanks.
