This is a fantastic video the sounds of nature are truly breath-taking. We surely do live on a remarkable planet i hope we all realise just how special and beautiful our tiny earth is before its too late🌍❤
I use many of your videos to relax. I have endured a few TBIs and my brain gets over stimulated easily...these vids calm me down. Thank you for your work
Just spent the last hour on a work focus block with this playing over headphones. Turned out to be a very productive hour, absolutely loved this soundscape George. Really like those occasional near-field vocalisations we hear that add another dimension to the depth. Great work as always 👏👏👏
Just amazing how those DPA mics pick up such full dynamic range with the low bass in the thunder, wow, fantastic George-- you've outdone yourself here!
Wow this is great! Where about in the Amazon are you? I remember being caught in a thunderstorm on the Tapajós river once and a lightening bolt striking about 10m from the boat. It sounded like a bomb going off!
That's amazing! Love the DPA 6060! A question when you record with your Zoom F6, do you use an "external recorder" (such as Sony A10) to record the stereo output mix "just in case" (the SD goes corrupt, ecc)? I'm looking for a very small recorder with decent line-in preamp but no more Sony A10, Olympus LS14, or such are all sold out and no more in production...
I don't use external recorders with my Zoom or Sound Devices recorders. I agree that having only one SD card is a bit risky but if I'm on a critical shoot I will bring my SD 633. For anything else the F6, F3 and Mixpre recorders work well enough and I've never lost any recordings because of memory issues.
Listen to a thunderstorm recording from the Congo basin rainforest: ua-cam.com/video/DitFKkBPtWQ/v-deo.html
I could listen and watch that all night long. Being in such an environment makes is so wonderful to be alive.
That's exactly what I did, sat on the porch watching the raging thunderstorm and being eaten alive by mosquitoes :D
Wow that thunder storms are amazing! Just landed from South Africa, got some great thunder and mind blowing lion calls
Thanks!
Absolutely fantabulastic! By other side, Javari River brings sad memories of a terrible crime... what is happening in Brazil is unspeakable.
Fingers crossed for the elections
I agree, the Javari river will for ever be remembered as the site of the tragedy a few months ago. Fingers crossed for the elections indeed.

Love it
Good to hear that.
Sounds fantastic. The sense of space capturing by those tiny 6060 is amazing. How do they deal with humidity?
Thanks! They're actually waterproof so no problem with humidity at all.

Glad you enjoyed it, Michael. Those DPA mics are fantastic for this sort of loud soundscapes.
