This was really refreshing to see. I'm glad James is in a better place now. Tragically, lots of people out there are only still here because they have a beloved pet to look after. James was in a privileged position Not because of his name or wealth but because he has a family who adore him and a loving, supportive wife and child, and I'm sure many friends rallying around him. Some people only have their dog or cat. That's it. Nothing else. It takes an extraordinary amount of courage to keep going when that is your life. ❤
@@bkirstie Respectfully, I disagree with you. I had a very supportive family and a tight-knit circle of friends when I suffered depression following the death of my husband. I even made a serious attempt at suicide and later regretted that decision when I saw how it impacted my family and friends who expressed how hurt they would have felt to have lost me. Depression is an insidious disease. It grabs ahold of you when you least expect it, and it takes determination and courage to fight your inner demons. Cognitive behavioral therapy helped me to process my grief in the wake of my husband's death. Whenever I feel myself slipping back into a depressive state, I reach out to family and friends to resist the impulse to self-isolate and allow the depression to take hold of me again. I encourage others to follow this example.
James Middleton seems like a lovely person who has gone through a challenging journey and has learned so much. I wish the interviewer allowed him to finish his thoughts and asked him better questions so that we could have learned important information from him regarding depression and the different available paths to treatment; which, unfortunately, has become a global condition. The way COVID was handled with the lockdowns, certainly revealed this fact.
James has his own identity, he’s not only Princess Cathrine’s brother. He’s such a very nice person. Can’t wait to read his book. Greetings from Italy, from another Ella. 🌸
Lorraine meant well. He came to sell his book so the less he gives away about the stories the more likely people will buy the book. It is the Royal connection that opens the door for him and Lorraine knows it.
Dogs know good people and when something is wrong with you, I fully understand what James is saying without my dogs I could not manage my life is so full with them. I bet his family are so proud of him and what he has done and is doing by bringing mental health in men especially to the public eye. I hope everyone reads this book to understand 1. what dogs do in our life and 2. men need to talk about their mental health take care James and thank you Lorraine ❤️🙏🏻
I ran to the bookstore the day James Middleton's book was due to be released. Unfortunately, my local Barnes and Noble did not have even one copy of it on their bookshelves, and I had to special order it. I cannot wait to read "Meet Ella". I admire how open and honest Mr. Middleton has been in sharing his struggles with depression. It is heartwarming to see how happy his life seems to now be as a newlywed and first-time dad. I love the photos of all his dogs that he regularly shares on his Instagram account, and it has actually made me long for a dog of my own that I can share long leisurely walks with now that I am retired.

I worked was an oncology nurse in the hospital for almost 20 years. When things settled down at night we allowed family to bring the patients pets up to the unit. The hardest thing is access to therapy, his family or he can afford it most probably, and the thing about mental health it is invisible, it’s ok to have physical conditions and I’ve had to sit and listen to peoples physical conditions and I’ve felt invisible and embarrassed about my C-PTSD stemming from childhood and latterly in my mid to late forties, early fifties, it is so hard. My dog Rosie and the late Miss Polly have completely saved me and I’m so grateful.
What a wonderful story and sweet man. Lorraine, I mean this as helpful criticism, you talked too much. Agree, she really overdid that. James is extremely relatable because of his mental health struggles and his love for dogs, that's what he was there for, not the interviewer gushing over the royals.
