This film is waaaaay better than it should be, or needs to be. I’m a Robbie fan, but I didn’t have high hopes for this. It is mesmerising. It’s was over 2 hours and yet when it finished it felt like it just started. Epic, emotional, weirdly more real by being so surrealist. Has to in consideration for Best Film at the Oscars and BAFTAs, I’m not sure what they’re looking for if it isn’t - much more powerful experience than Bohemian Rhapsody’s or Rocketman, as great as they were!

@@alexjohnstonjohnston5374 Absolutely agree with you this movie is extraordinary it blew me away. I was laughing, crying, in shock, singing, it was so emotional. I hope it wins many awards. I loved the other two movies as well but this one is epic.

I just was kinda annoyed that outside his childhood, the film didnt really explain anything. I didnt feel I got an adequate explanation WHY he felt so mentally ill, WHY he turned to drugs or how. Who introduced them, did he dive in hard or did he slowly spiral? It also didnt do well at showing HOW he broke through and became famous, he kinda just shows up on mega shows half way into the movie. It didnt help all the side characters basically didnt exist. His best friend had like 2 minutes of screen time, his partner had like 5 minutes of screen time. I liked the movie, but felt if I just got a bit more reasoning on pivot points in his life I'd have enjoyed it way more. I guess its fitting but a solid 1 hour or so of the movie was just a whirlpool of music and drugs without any actual plot.

Cannot agree more. Bohemian, Rocketman, the Whitney one, and the Elvis one were all just a chronology of things that happened. This one had the depth and layers that we’ve been waiting for in biopics. I had so much fun watching it because it was truly stunning and entertaining but I also bawled my eyes out, touched by the struggles that he and the people around him went through. Such a beautifully made film. And I’m just so glad that Rob got through and we get a happy ending in this biopic 💛

Saw this film tonight. It was excellent. Exciting, entertaining, human with just the right amount of tongue-in-cheek and self-indulgence.

Spectacular musical sequences too.. the ones with Take That particularly hilarious.

this is a really great interview!! i love that the questions were clear, important and meaningful, and got meaningful and considered answers by robbie and jonno, but i most appreciate how Lucie lifted the mood at the end, after her heaviest question, and left everyone in a good mood and everything on a good note. lovely interview!

I'm a life long massive Robbie fan, his music got me into singing and I just adore him. Been to see the movie this evening, absolutely loved the story but the monkey thing didn't work for me. It felt like that kid who realises people are laughing at their joke, then keeps telling it and doesn't know when to stop. I get the concept of it but imo it should have been strategically placed into the story at times rather than played out across the entire movie. It was off-putting and pulled me out of the story too many times, I got disassociated from what it was about because I was looking at a CGI monkey instead of a human. They didn't need to do that for the Queen or Elton John biopic and they were very well received, personally I think this decision whilst brave and an attempt to be different, is probably the reason why the movie is going to be a massive flop.

I am creating the idea that the entire universe is bending to me being hungry for a sugary snack.
