You can't beat a Georgian home. They are so flexible in terms of how you can use and decorate. Built to last. People visibly relax and become more themselves in Georgian spaces , everything is calibrated around the proportions of the human body.
Not my cup of tea. It seems these furnishings will go out of fashion too quickly and the place will look old in a year or two. Maybe they will enjoy decorating again but I feel a traditional treatment suits these houses better with some modern pieces thrown in for contrast.
@Bill Miller , your comment makes no sense. 20 years is nothing for a Georgian house. Remember woodchip and panelled doors in the 70s? They all fell out of fashion and looked ugly after time. A Colefax and Fowler look blending English country house and contemporary styling seems to work best for these homes in my opinion. Anything too modern or flash is yesterdays trend in a short space of time.
yes my friend if it was my children I would want to know there every move in and out side of the house me and my wife are very much good parents and we love our children oh yes on the dog sly, Co TIPPERARY IRELAND 🇮🇪 ☘️
I love homes that are completely inconspicuous from the outside. So that passers buy have no idea of the fabulous home within behind the plain front door. Also, 200 years ago it would not have been has beautiful and light has it is today. So why look back.
200 years ago would be the regency esque, it would be this light lol, especially for townhouse it's always minimal and brightly coloured unless it was owned by really rich person then it would be heavier a lot of gilding a lot of expensive tapestry and a lot bigger
Like every city centre. So they have parks everywhere. Go a mile out of city centre and there are gardens everywhere with mostly every house in Edinburgh 🙂
Yes. Especially in Scotland which is already damp and can be bone-penetratingly cold. You fill a hot steamy bath, the steam permeates the bed linen and then you climb into damp sheets that feel wet and become freezing overnight.
Am extremely disappointed and annoyed that the original posting of this series, and the 2019 series were removed. I hope that the money you make from selling the series to HBO or some other streaming service makes you happy. The episodes are not as well edited and some of them are missing.
Maybe I’m just too trad but the decor seems to be more suited to a mod loft in NYC. Some of it looked like upscale ikea showrooms? I get they don’t want a stuffy old look but even an Art Deco style would have been classy and sleek
Hi Marla, I would go further than that, it’s rubbish, there is no sense of the aesthetic in this offering whatsoever. It has been cobbled together by an individual who has zero idea on creating a beautiful interior. Is this a reflection on the lack of culture in Scotland, in my experience the answer is yes. Totally bereft of an artistic eye, all seems to be related to being “new”, I’m afraid it’s a poverty of mind.
Why do rich people have the shittest taste in art? Imagine having all that money and you decorate your home with what look like failed advertising campaigns from the mid-90's.
😍 that kitchen. Not a fan of the tub in the master or that hand that the blogger also has, 😂 if it would had slipped out of her hand she could had gave them hers. j/k 🖐.
Magnificent home! ❤
Georgian homes are everything 😍
Such a beautiful and elegant home.
This is a beautiful home, clearly painstakingly designed and so much work has gone in to the remodelling. Congratulations!
Always curious about the inside of the New Town row houses. It is much larger than imagined and that wonderful staircase.....ooh so pretty!
We love it 🥰 😊
Would love to have seen more
I always adore the Georgian townhouses in Edinburgh whenever I visit. Now I get to adore them from the inside too 😍
Loved this! Wish everyone can afford living like this 🙃
Reminds me of one of the homes in Trainspotting xxx
I loved everything, except the bathtub next to the bed.
Very nice 👍 thank you
What a beautiful home ! 👌🌷

my flat is Georgian and its absolutely tiny because it was built for poor people

@Bill MillerTaste Bud. I avoid thise magazines but each to their own.
@Bill Millerstarted in the interior design business 30 years ago, I guess we are coming from a different approach.
@Bill Miller you don't seem to be making much sense. Sounds like you are looking for a spat. We have different opinions, I am okay with that.
Beautiful 💛🏴
Amazing!!!
Beautiful !
I intensely dislike the painting of a huge gun. I do like the dog Chewy very much.
I don’t think a tub in the primary bedroom works, at least not for me.
Yeah... I suppose the room is probably big enough but the steam would be kinda weird next to a bed.
"And every so often, we meet in the kitchen"..........WHAT??

I wanted to look at the original architecture from the inside

A tub in the bedroom is bad. No matter what the view.
Millionaires have nice house shocker 🤮
So their first aim is to separate themselves from their sons as much as possible, preferably with lots of cushions ...some family home.
Right? I'd want my children spending time with me.
Jealousy is not a good look
Sounds perfect to me 😂
i lived in a similar house.... it's not about seperate but everyone got their own floor/space.... of course we get together
"Lots of cushions", raises eyebrows expressively. Every other husband in design shows- why do we have so many pillows? I don't get it either lol
Edinburgh is a crowded city just like London seems very hard to find a home with garden or green yard.
Like every city centre. So they have parks everywhere. Go a mile out of city centre and there are gardens everywhere with mostly every house in Edinburgh 🙂
I don’t understand the bathtub in the center of the bedroom. All I think of is cold air, wet wood floors. Yuck.

@@tommoncrieff1154 in the winter, yes, but in the summer it must be lovely. It's not their main bathroom after all.
Myself and my other half stayed in a hotel on the Isle of Guernsey a few years ago. A bath in the bedroom. Not very practical at all. 😎

the kitchen, which i feel is the heart of a home was horribly sterile, dissapointed
I get a cold and hollow vibe.

Dark rooms...i prefer more light

There is not a lot of bench space, maybe they are not into cooking.
There are actually 2 benches in the kitchen.

That bath will make the bedroom soaking wet.
This town house was clearly designed for giants!
Georgian proportions :)
Wow i am realy glad it's not my bath i realy realy didn't like how he went in with his shoes.
Who the hell picks these judges, pathetic
Lots of cushions, not much interest. Totally lacking in any charm.
