I am making the bag and am confused on the strips of Velcro on the lining. Are they meant to face the plastic base or face outwards into the open space of the bag?
At 7:21 the strips of velcro that go on the bottom face up away from the plastic board. The idea being that velcro pouches or compartments can be put inside the bag and won't move around. Hope that helps and good luck with the build
I just used a duck canvas from my local Joann's. Because I planned to wax it I wanted a natural fiber that would absorb the wax well (this stuff was perfect). It is strong enough for what I wanted, I have filled the bag with textbooks and didn't even feel a hint of it falling apart. The design is quite smart for putting reinforcement where it is required and a lot of the wear points or fail points are quadrupled over. Hope that helps
I had some Grafix Dura-Lar Roll leftover from another project (think overhead transparent sheet) so decided to give it a try. I got it at my local Hobby Lobby. I have heard of people using painters plastic as well but the Dura-Lar had a nice stiffness to it.
Coooool looking bag!!!
Well done!
how you did the sticker? its just regular paper? ingoust colors? but if you put water on the sticker than collors will leak down or?

I am running into the same problem of finding sail cloth. What kind of canvas did you use, and do you think it was heavy enough for your use?

@@craftybeetroot2829 Thanks a lot, sir. You've helped me a lot. I owe you.
My pleasure, good luck with your build
Awesome bag.
One question though, what did you use to trace out the pattern on?

nice work. honestly i'd rather have this than the one he sells on his site.
Thanks, yeah the waxed cotton worked way better then expected.
I think the waxed cotton might be called oil cloth.
It's hard to get a good look at the finished bag in this video, otherwise pretty cool!
Thanks for the feedback, always appreciative of tips to improve my videos
