  • Happy Birthday Howlin’ Wolf! You would have been 109 years old today. Here’s a little tutorial on one of his most famous tunes. Hope you enjoy!

I found three versions and they are all different! I will try this because it seems the most correct 😉

I found that doing 1-2 instead of 1-2-3 and 3-4 instead of 3-4-5 on the chord part makes it sound darker ,more like the record i think

Your video sounds so much more like it than the other so-called professional big-name videos

You play it pretty good but I'm not sure why you would start the lick by using a -2 3 -2. Those are both the same note of E on a key of A harp. You could just do -2 -2 -2. ;)

1 it sounds different 2 it helps with the breathing pattern 3 it allows for tongue slap on holes 1 and 2 when played tongue blocked.

Super confusing: "???draw???; two hole draw; three hole blow ; two hole draw..."
Super confusing...what is the first draw? Can you clarify??
People's explanations on how to play anything is always so confusing.

2 hole draw is first, then 3 hole blow, then 2 hole draw. Have you considered taking private lessons? Just a few might give you enough of an understanding to find videos like this useful. There are plenty of good players out there teaching online, one-on-one video lessons. If you need help finding a teacher, I can recommend some. Sorry you found this confusing.

@@jakegrovesharmonica Thank you kindly for your reply it helps a lot. I will keep working at this till I get it right. I apologize for the lengthy reply.
About lessons: I would like to take lessons but that would cost money I don't have. I stay in Africa...which means low pay and no blues clubs or teachers anywhere. If I convert my pay into dollars I make about 400 dollars a month if I'm lucky. I can barely afford the 67 dollars to buy a harmonica let alone a whole set.
All I have is the internet (since 2018), my ears (since birth) and the music of the blues (since I left home). I've made it this far...I can make it further. It will just take time.
Your videos are a good help. So too are the videos of everyone else who posts blues licks and stuff I can copy. Having a teacher/mentor/friend who plays blues harp would obviously be ideal and help immensely.
Despite how naïve my plans may sound, my big goal is to open a blues club (at night) and a school (in the day) to teach the blues to kids who would otherwise end up doing drugs and listening to negative music. I got plans...I just don't have the money to make my plans a reality.

@@brandonleroux6059 Brandon, that is a mighty reply! Glad to help you learn with these videos. I'll post more tutorial videos soon hopefully. Keep on playing and I am sure your worthwhile dreams will become reality.
