The Triumph Tiger 900 GT PRO is currently the best motorcycle out there.
I Have tested this up against my old BMW GS 1200 (2015) which is my previous motorcycle. NO doubt the Triumph Tiger 900 GT PRO is better in every way. More refined and so on.
I have had mine now for two months. Do not regret the swap. LOVE IT IN EVERY WAY :)

My brother road GTpro as a possible replacement for his 800Xrt, he thought it was better, but not enough to warrant an upgrade. If you want a bargain (same horsepower) also consider the out going 800.

Thank God. What a relief coming back to this channel haha. I just spent 25 minutes watching a review, and the guy spent the entire video talking about heated grips and the switches on his Tiger 900 GT. This channel starts out immediately with a review of the engine. Yay!!!!! My sanity is returning!

I just checked the only two Triumph dealers in my area, Anchorage and Seattle ..both show a starting price for the 2020 Tiger GT pro at $16,400.00 add on to that a hefty $550.00 destination charge plus taxes , license and other random 'fees' and your in the neighborhood of $18,000.00! Better be well heeled if you shop for one!!
I guess you get what you pay for but I dunno...at that price point, I would definitely look at All contenders seriously before committing to purchase. Thanks for yet another great review. Cheers!

I think you are right, me too use to watch 800 to 1000 adventure bikes but lately prices on them made me change my mind So now I really consider a versys 650 with luggage at 7400. That’s a pretty good deal I believe, if the power it’s enough that is.

As a fellow Triumph fan, I have my dream bike, a 2016 Triumph Thruxton 900 waiting for me in the garage, but now seeing your review of the Tiger makes me think it'll be perfect for a first 2nd bike..

Awesome review TMF, I think like a lot of people have commented the price of these are crazy, they have the top of the line GT Pro Rally at the dealer and it’s the same price as the 1200 Tiger when I bought my Trophy SE three years ago, so the smaller model is priced the same as the bigger model used to be. The 900/800 market is ok for single riders but two up loaded down with gear for long trips it’s just too small. I try to buy English built products as you know, 3 mini coopers in the garage and my Trophy, but when I heard mass layoffs and shifting production abroad I’m hesitant giving them another $20K of my money. I’m leaning towards the Africa Twin for serviceability and it’s cheaper here than the Tiger. Dealership network in Canada is 600 miles west or 800 miles east, which is a little worrying when you set off with the wife on the back. Awesome review as normal, it would be nice if Triumph could comment about the future locations of production. It reminds me of an Apple product “designed in California” written all over it but made in China.....

I'm so excited that you did a review on this. I have a Rally Pro in white. Unfortunately the green was back-ordered for my area (100 miles) for 5 months. If you do get to ride the Rally Pro here are some differences you are going to notice; Can't flat foot, might be close though (i have a 32" inseam, its not to bad with boots). The center stand seems a bit of a hassle to use unless you take off the passenger foot peg (its right in the way for where your calf wants to go when pressing down)... however once you take that peg off it goes up unbelievably easy. If you do take it down a green lane, its going to be really confidence inspiring. The suspension is not electronically controlled, but is really soft and yet you can still really lean it into corners and never feel like you lose any grip. The rear break can be adjusted up by simply lifting up and rotating it to make it easier to use off road (not going to lie, its going to be a pain in the butt the first time you try to do it). One thing you did see or note, that took me a while to realize, is that they only put one sticker on the beak of the bike to tell you what model it is. I just find that funny and weird at the same time. Since you have the bike for a couple of weeks one thing you'll find is that at 65+ mph the screen at the high position will cause buffeting, but in the low position its perfect. If i was to give my two cents on the things I don't like about the bike its really only two things, one is if using GPS through the Triumph app it only gives you turning information and not a full map on the screen even though they use google maps. The second is that the screen needs a rework of the way the rpm is displayed. Honestly both can be fixed with a software flash so its not like its not achievable. Other than that I'll be excited to see the next video on the bike! Great job as always!

G'day TMF, I have ridden the Rally Pro and it is amazing! The handling is great on twisties considering it runs a 21 inch front. My off road usually consists of fire trails and solid tracks so the Tiger would suit me to a Tee. On the highways, it is so comfortable. Now I have a drama in that as I'm getting a little older (61), would It be a more practical bike to own than the R1250 GS Beemer that I have always admired. At least I have a little time to weigh up the pro's and con's of both machines, as the bike I choose will be a retirement pressy to myself. Great stuff as usual brother. Have a good one.

Every since my 95 Triumph Sprint set up with all 3 monokey cases I have loved me a Triumph triple. I think this will be my next bike. Especially with all the nice features being factory and not after market. Definitely a plus when the features (both heated seats, heated grips, cruise control, usb ports etc) are calculated during engineering you know they are meant to all operate together going down the interstate. I have had most of the name brand motorcycles at some time but have always been partial to Triumph. Great review!

Just bought a 2021 Red with added Arrow can crash bars and a few bits and pieces for £13,000. A sort of impulse buy with itchy fingers to go touring again. For the money I thought it was a steal and I can join the TOMCC again which I missed. I am engineering a Clutch Fluid bottle as I agree with you on that one but an Italian chap makes top quality screens deflectors to order and I had one on my last Triumph which was superb. Bigger and wider with a few strategic slits and a slight centre spine to push the air round you. They are quality products.

I'm getting a 900 GT (to replace my V-Strom 650) in a couple of weeks. My regular pillion (her indoors) found it easier to mount than the Strom. Was going to add Triumph connectivity as an option but gone for shift assist instead, reason; prefer phone nav (Osmand) to turn by turn.

    Hi Andy,
after being smitten by the good looks, watching the reviews and reading the specs for this 900 GT Pro, I was convinced that this was to be my next bike.
I rode my T120 via my chosen test route en route to the dealership and then retraced it on the GT Pro.
I loved the suspension and flickable handling, kept looking for higher gears that weren’t there and was surprised how skinny the hand grips felt in comparison to the Bonneville’s. The seat felt plush initially but it wasn’t long before I started to try to find a different position to sit on it. The real crunch was how tiring the vibes through the bars were, I haven’t ridden the 800, which is often described as being “buttery smooth” so I can’t compare but the new T plane crank and firing order didn’t do it for me.
Riding home on the Bonneville felt so comfy and satisfying in comparison and I’ve never been so disappointed after a test ride in well over 50 years of motorcycling.

Had the 800 and now the 900 and yes the indicator and joystick do slot into muscle memory so are not an issue. If I could of done so I would have kept the 800 (still get the 900) as the "eagerness" of the 800 was fun but the 900 can be ridden very lazy (as if it were just a twin) if you wish to do so. Definately more low/mid range grunt will pick up from 25/30 mph in 4th or 5th without complaint.

Hello mate, just wanted to ask a question if you don't mind. I was in the market for a new 900 Rally Pro, however that might now be more realistic in another 18 months. So based on you're a previous 800 owner, would you (if in my position), consider an 800, with the fact I could pick up a fully loaded second hand XCA for less than £9k, saving me a whopping £5k and be happy with it, or would you wait, be patient and go for the 900?

In America with their huge long roads it didn’t miss a beat but with such tight twists , room etc in the uk environment, I’m sure I would not enjoy it as much. The plastic is not good to view through it. I am 5’4” touch the ground with toes. Short riders would view through it. I have 3rd party fly screen in another bike which is very good to see through it. Great video. I've taken this bike for a test ride back to back with a Ducati Multistrada 950 S and the BMW F900XR. I eliminated the F800XR right away because I didn't like it much. I really enjoyed the Tiger GT Pro. I think it has the best quick shifter in the market and the standard heated seats and grips are awesome. The Ducati definitely looks better and comes with the spoked wheels and it is actually a cheaper bike in the US at the moment ($3,500 cheaper). I watched your very positive review of the Multi 950. I've sold my 2019 800 xrx low. 5 things done under warranty within a year! Not happy at all with Triumph, they really don't like negative feedback so I hope you don't like it after the 2 weeks (corrected in my next comment, that sounded wrong) 😉... their employment attitude sucks too apparently, I know several employees/ex employees. Will do an upload soon. ☺

@@TheMissendenFlyer that's good news. Such a shame though. Tft screen totally packed up, cam chain tensioner went on both our bikes, condensation in headlamp and indicator and paint wore off the switchgear where my 25 year old Pan European is fine. I didn't mean I hope you don't like it, I meant I hope you don't have anything too bad to say. Lol. That sounded so wrong. ☺

Looks a nice bike looking forward to the long term review, just an observation but try adding what your inseam leg size is rather than you’re 5’8” not everyone has the same body and leg measurements. This would be a lot more accurate sizing for all I think. Great vid keep up the good work.

Sold my 2019 GSA 1250 and bought a 2020 tiger rally pro, no issues with the BMW have had several of them ....I basically sat on a tiger, riding position was perfect for my 5’10” height and said I’m in...I would summarize the tiger as just really fun to ride and has more of giggle factor than the BMW....Also for the first time ever I sold my BMW bought a new triumph and put $8k in my bank account, first time ever that’s happened ! :)

Very small detail between the 900GT over the F750GS: The Triumph has bosses for paddock stand bobbins. This is especially important if you get the lowered versions, because they don't have center stands.

I'm so happy this is available. I had my eye on a 2018 Tiger 800 XRT, and I'm assuming with all the great reviews this new 900 is getting the leftover 800s should be getting discounted.
I'm sure the new 900 is a fantastic bike, but a two year old, top of the line 800 will do for me, especially if the price is a few thousand below the 2018 price.

Good review thanks. I’m just not convinced (yet) it’s enough to change my Tiger 800 XRX for. Interested to know what the vibrations are like at constant motorway speeds. You’re spot on with the paint schemes, not too much effort being put in there! And that TFT, although (looks like) a class item, the graphics / layout look poor. Couldn’t really see a rev counter on the screen you’d chosen, and why the need for a ‘0’ before the mph? Just add the ‘1’ as and when.

At motorway speed in road mode as comfortable as my 1050 Sport.. but.. if its in sport mode there's much more vibration through the bars, not noticeable if your on winding stop, start A roads

I’ve been trying to understand why Triumph have gone back to the old style mirrors on a completely revamped bike. I had those style of mirrors on my Tiger Explorer and swapped them out for the newer style as they were constantly undoing themselves on the second joint.

One thing I didn't see mentioned was the heat on your left leg, I test road a carry over 2019 xrt 800 and loved it except for all the heat coming off the radiator on your left leg. How is the heat coming off the radiator on the gt pro 900? Is it more balanced with the dual radiator setup? The xrt 800 is $14,600 OTD and the gt pro 900 is $16,900 OTD here in Montana USA.

Recently rode one when my 2019 Tiger 1050 sport was in for service after lock down. I was very surprised with the performance of the engine. Having not ridden the 800 I wasn't comparing it. It was light and very responsive. May a strange noise at idle and low revs but sung once it was revved. Enjoyed the heated grips and the quick shifter. Plus no need for brakes as engine braking is amazing. However when I got back on the 1050 sport I realised how much smoother the engine is in normal firing order and the road handling was far superior. For general ROAD riding which is what the majority do in this country and the GT Pro targeted for; the 1050 is so much better if you can sort the buffering off the screen. You'll also be harder on the brakes as the 1050 doesn't match the engine braking of the 900, but you'll quickly adjust. Yes it won't go off road but who really does. Also discovered recently that whoever invented a single rear swing arm should be knighted as changing a tyre was a doddle.
    Good review.
I bought the 1050 on your recommendation and very happy ( still fiddling with the screen though )

    • @BrianTigerRider
      @BrianTigerRider 4 роки тому

@@TheMissendenFlyer oh yes. Currently on my 3rd screen with not much luck. However 1/4" tap washers seem to be working the best. Increasing the rake by placing the washers under the standard screen has improved the buffering. Need to get a longer bolt though to put on a couple more. Still noisy but no itchy nose. The issue is I have a tall seating position as I'm 6ft but short legged. Lol. I've thought of the lower seat option but tap washers are sooooo much cheaper.

I’d been waiting for your review of the Tiger 900, but when showrooms reopened I couldn’t resist a test-ride. The difference between this and my 2017 800 XRT was night and day. I was that smitten I gave up on my shortlist and bought it!! I concur with everything you said, and I’m happy it seems to have your endorsement! Loving the new engine sound, low down grunt and handling over previous. I have to say I’m having issues with the connectivity side of things and I’ve given up on it for now, but other than that I love the new (white) bike. Green is definitely the best colour, but didn’t want to compromise the road handling by going for the Rally.

Test rode one a couple of weeks ago. Liked almost everything about it. The only negatives for me was that it was a bit gutless at the top end, not the best looking bike (as with most adventure types) and I bet it would be a pig to keep clean....Oh, and a wait until November for the red one!

This is the review I’ve been waiting for! I’m actually scared to test ride one because I know I’d want to chop in my trusty 800. The mirrors are a backwards step though, and although I would personally choose black anyway the colour schemes are boring. Ironic considering the great paint jobs Triumph have done in the past! Also disappointing that the service intervals are still 6000 miles when many rivals are longer.
