what is the biproducts? is this safe indoors?

SBVGaming The byproducts will be mainly carbon dioxide and water vapour gas. It wouldn't be safe indoors, as you would need to conduct this experiment outdoors or in a fume hood.

i performed it inside multiple times, but i used a gas mask then cleared the room of any gas, just in case. thanks though, and another question. i accidently boughht sodium nitrate instead of potassium nitrate. can sodium nitrate be used for gunpowder, and rocket fuel just like potassium nitrate?

No worries mate :) Yes, sodium nitrate can be used as gunpowder; its exactly the same as potassium nitrate.
