It never gets old for me when Thomas clicks the shutter in what seems to be just an ordinary scene and then he shows the final image, and it is just the BEST THING you've ever seen! I just LOVE it.😍
Hi Thomas, up here In Pitlochry, if you planned come up here at the end of this month then I believe the autumn colours would be perfect. Every morning also you see what Welsh called the Dragons Breath. Area from Pitlochry to Aviemore is stunning for photography. If, like you always are looking for new locations…
I know you have a “photo channel “, but I’ve been watching you for YEARS and feel it’s also a THOMAS channel. It’s nice to just sit down and “chat” You could talk about anything and make it interesting. Cheers from Washington state.
Thanks a lot. I did consider hashing an edit together and filming in the van when I got back, but it wouldn't have come across very well. best to just explain. 👍
Hey Thomas, glad to hear your family member is well again. Who cares about photography (even if it's with a Hasselblad), when the family is injured. Thanks for the honesty, really appreciate that.
Glad to hear your family member is recovering Thomas and don’t worry about the content, family always come first. Hopefully you can get the camera back on another trial and give it the going over it deserves. Look forward to hearing more of your road trip in due course
Watching this with rain pouring down on my roof in Adelaide.Really adds to your soundtrack and my experience.Sorry you didn't get to complete your test.
Family first! Glad to hear that your family member is back on the road to recovery. Things like that put things in perspective. Look forward to what seeing what you've got up your sleeve in coming weeks...
Great to have my opinion of you confirmed, mate. Putting photography aside even when you have a great camera for a limited time speaks so well of your character. Family should always come first.
I'd like to think that Hasselblad will get in touch and offer the camera again, from some of the video's I've seen the X2D hasn't received the best of press but it would seem that you like it albeit with reservations about the price. What impresses me the most is that you are shooting hand held for 1/2 second and getting sharp images, I think that that is just superb, I have been amazed at what I can achieve with my Z7 handheld and I hope that the Z7iii or Z8 if that is what Nikon call it has the ability to match or better the X2D's quoted 7 stops of stabilisation, it gives you so much freedom if you haven't got to worry about a tripod on a field trip in fast changing light situations. Pleased to hear that all is good with the family member and that they are recovering well. Nice video.
You Thomas are a breath of fresh air in YT. Other so called YT content creators can only relate to Nigel Danson and your success as being in the right place and being so called lucky. Hard work, and relating to fellow photographers is the key, and I glad to see they are stopping to post on YT. Envy is green ! Carry on with your entertaining content !!!!
Gorgeous to know your family member is ok, there's nothing more important ! I'm looking forward for your next road trip : sounds amazing already !! And yeah : autumn is here !
I loved the lighting, the rich colors and the sound of rushing water in the outdoors portion of the video. It definitely had a “Fall is around the corner” feel to it. Also, it’s fantastic that some of the new cameras have reliable enough IBIS that one can explore areas without always having to carry a tripod. I’m not sure why commenters are bent out of shape about the beer promotion. We all know that sponsorship is part of what keeps the ball rolling, and it sounds like that particular company is positive things in supporting smaller breweries as well as good causes. Family comes first, and I’m glad your relative is doing well.
First off, so glad to hear your family member is on the road to recovery. Loved the image of the lone tree. The contrast between the tree and the rocks in the background. Just lovely.
Family first, of course! So glad to hear your family member is on the mend, and hopefully makes a full recovery! Thanks for the calendar (and print!) - both gratefully received and already on the wall.
Your family always comes first and huge respect to you for dropping everything and getting out there, I hope my family would do the same for me! Very glad its turned out well and looking forward to the next video whenever you manage to make it.
They do make waterproof camera covers. They're like little raincoats for cameras. Fairly inexpensive (a lot less expensive than a brand new Hasselblad, that's for sure!). Just saying.
i got my calendar yesterday after coming from a hectic day at work and it was such a surprise! made a story everybody has seen it but Tom :D ..the calendar is so good that it feels i have won it even though i purchased it! incredible piece of tom's work now decorates my home office wall! thank you!
its so nice to see your sense for keeping the saturation and contrast on a more moderate and restrained level , a european different taste, compared to another taste and very extreme saturation, almost HDR look from american photogs . being a scandinavian the more holding back postprocessing are more appealling
Thank you for the calendar and accompanying print Tom. Delighted with both. I hope you’re family member is doing well. I had a similar experience with a close friend who had to be flown home in an air ambulance from Greece. Best wishes.
Just for the record re weatherproof cameras! I don’t think there is a single camera manufacturer who will cover the cost for damage if a camera is exposed to water, be it rain or any other type of water ingress! I know for a fact Nikon’s cameras are designed to be splash proof not to be used in heavy or even continual light rain without a waterproof camera cover. There seems to be a ‘movement’ within photography circles especially here on UA-cam who think and in some cases even endorse using cameras unprotected even in heavy rain! Guys get you cameras soaking wet at your peril because it’ll cost you if they go ***s up. Tom, sorry to hear about your family member, hoping they make a full and rapid recovery. Cheers. 👏👍😀
Agreed. Olympus is the only one that has IPX rated their OM1 series of cameras. And only at IP1X (the lowest rating). I always bring a waterproof cloth to drape over my camera in rain or snow. Can’t trust “splashproof” wording with no warranty backup.
Glad to hear your family member is fine. At first I thought it was going to turn out the camera took a swim in that gorgeous little river. Glad all is well. Take care of yourself also.
A shame you didn't get to fully test out the Hasselblad but nothing is more important than family. I wish your relative a speedy recovery and look forward to hearing about your road trip.
I'm guessing Hasselblad wouldn't liked the "ooops, stuck in Greece" excuse for not sending the camera back 😉. Happy to hear everyone is well and thanks for an honest video. Sometimes life just doesn't follow your plan 🤷♂️
Hey Thomas -- like others have said, family always comes first. Content is a distant second to that (though God knows we all love the content!) This thing looks like my dream camera. Unobtainable to me now, but I always enjoy seeing real-world reviews of it, especially in the hands of someone who definitely knows what he's doing. Take care.
What do you mean you “hope the content will get better”?!? Are you mad? Your content is fantastic week after week. Love this channel (Hope your family member is on the mend!)
well, at least you got a few super nice photos with the Hasselblad... and got the Fuji for a bit longer. Looking forward to see what you will come up with it 😄
Family first, pleased to hear they're on the mend. Re road trip, that wouldn't be Vancouver Island to Nova Scotia with a certain Mr Gibbs to visit Gavin by any chance? Now that would be worth watching 😉
I'm puzzled by how can the little tree in the first shot can be so sharp with such slow shutter speed. How many attempts to nail that shot? You waited for the wind to calm down? Cheers
Glad all is well with your family. As for that X2D, based upon the title of the video and the first part of it I anticipated that we were going to see a weather-related mishap with the camera! have a great week.
I was worried for a moment that you'd dropped and smashed the camera. . . .glad all is well for your family member who was ill and in need care. That is good news. I will say Thomas - you can make an interesting video out of one image easily . . . . don't know how you do it, but you have.
Note to self: Learn to pour ale correctly. 🙂 I'm glad that your family member has been sorted and is on the mend. You have had a really busy time. btw, I absolutely love your calendar which I received last week, so many thanks! Also, the print of Wast Water was a beautiful surprise. That place is emotional for me. The Screes and me had a big fallout 2 years ago when I accidentally took the 'path' below them laden with a full camera bag. To see your photo just reminds me of how arduous that day became and how I nearly didn't make it. Oh, but such a magical area. 👍
Hey Thomas, just love your enthusiasm to get out there in the thick of it and always producing the goods, watch your channel every week with out fail, and i know a few at my camera club does the same, im glad everything gone well with your family member, wish them well, catch you in the next video 📷❤
Hello from Greece! Hope everything is OK with your family member's health. That's what matters the most. You'll have the opportunity to test the Hassy another time if you feel like it ,the weather was not helping anyways!
Everything was perfect except this Beer52 part. To lift the mood - I got convinced and placed an order and now can't cancel my subscription! What a shame!
As a mountaineering photographer for decades shooting in all types of conditions including semi frozen waterfalls .. I would take my old vintage film cameras in those conditions over my modem “weather resistant” camera. I’ve had my Nikon FM at 6000 meters and so frozen it was caked in ice but it still worked. I guarantee my modern digital would be a brick.
Man, when I saw wet and cut short, I immediately had a M50 survived more weather comment ready to deploy. 😂Glad your family member is on the mend👍👍 Maybe you can get back into review unit rotation, the x2d sounds interesting. I'd certainly watch a rough comparison even though they are way out of my budget. A normal case of beer is 24 cans in the states...sometimes more is better😂 Although, Beer 52 sounds awesome...and I don't drink.
Hey Thomas, can we get a video on what happened with F4. As someone who’s been following you for upwards to 5 years I was very excited to get this course. Yes the price was out of my budget at the time but I recently went looking for the course this month and found that it’s just not available anymore. I know how much work went into this and I think it’s such a shame that it’s just gone forever now. I think the entire following community would really love a follow up and maybe a resolution for us to see the content. I think it such a shame we can’t see it now.
I'm reluctant to give a video a Thumbs Up when I hear a family member has had a health scare but it sounds like all is well. Besides, it's another great, entertaining and useful Thomas Heaton video so Thumbs Up it is!. Love the shot of the tree and the river...amazing that it was hand held! I hope this is the future of digital cameras...that and dynamic range improvements. Can't wait for the upcoming videos after your brilliant teaser. Wish Wisconsin was in the U.K. so I could get those great looking IPAs and help the environment at the same time!
It never gets old for me when Thomas clicks the shutter in what seems to be just an ordinary scene and then he shows the final image, and it is just the BEST THING you've ever seen! I just LOVE it.😍
haha, what a compliment. Thanks a lot.

I love the transparency and authenticity...never lose that, it's such a refreshing commodity these days. A long-time fan.
Thanks god for beer52. 5 minutes of additional content to pad out the vid. Looking forward to the possible road trip on the horizon.
Glad to hear your family member is recovering Thomas and don’t worry about the content, family always come first. Hopefully you can get the camera back on another trial and give it the going over it deserves. Look forward to hearing more of your road trip in due course
Thanks, Scotty. Much appreciated 👍
I always will vote for beer drinking and talking about photography!
Glad to hear everything is ok with family.
Watching this with rain pouring down on my roof in Adelaide.Really adds to your soundtrack and my experience.Sorry you didn't get to complete your test.
You'll see me here every week! Also, my signed calendar came and it's beautiful! I will definitely keep it beyond 2023.
Wish I could have seen you do the comparison but family clearly takes precedence. Glad it worked out well.
Glad to hear your family member is on the mend, Tom!
Family first! Glad to hear that your family member is back on the road to recovery. Things like that put things in perspective. Look forward to what seeing what you've got up your sleeve in coming weeks...
Gorgeous work as usual. Living in the drought in the western United States, your videos seems so lush. Please send some of the wetness our way.
Thank you. All the best. 👍📷😎
Great to have my opinion of you confirmed, mate. Putting photography aside even when you have a great camera for a limited time speaks so well of your character. Family should always come first.
I'm pretty confident that Thomas really is a great person. (If he's not, and it's just a UA-cam persona, I don't want to know!! ;)).
I'm glad to hear everything turned out well.
intriguing what you have planned ! thankfully your family member is on the mend
Glad you’re family member is doing well! Love your content ❗️
Thomas, WHAT a beautiful shot from that tiny tree... Just brilliant!
Family is first always. 👍😊

Hard work, and relating to fellow photographers is the key, and I glad to see they are stopping to post on YT. Envy is green !
Carry on with your entertaining content !!!!
A much better lesson from a video - Family is more important than photography.
Lessons in humanity are just as important as taking photos!
Glad all’s well in the family.😊
Thomas - family always comes first. Good to hear your family member is doing OK.
Glad to hear the family member is OK. Health is most important.
Well done Tom. Everything else can wait...we'll still be here!
Great shot. Hope the family member gets well soon.
So sorry to hear of your relatives operation and glad they are ok now. Wish you’d be able to take X2D with you!
Best pitchman ever! Bourbon sponsor next!
Family first, always. Glad things are going OK for them now.
Family comes first Thomas - glad to hear all is well. Looking forward to the Fuji review.
Heat On - Heat Off - Thomas, WHERE ARE YOU - 20th October and NO fix - What will I do - Farewell cruel world - SOB ! ! !
Gorgeous to know your family member is ok, there's nothing more important ! I'm looking forward for your next road trip : sounds amazing already !! And yeah : autumn is here !

Thanks, Ben. yes, the ibis is incredible and I'm keen to test the GFX, which claims to have 6 stops, I think. 👍
Looking forward to it (the GFX video) Thomas.
First off, so glad to hear your family member is on the road to recovery. Loved the image of the lone tree. The contrast between the tree and the rocks in the background. Just lovely.

Hi Thomas, have been looking for a direct image quality comparison between the GFX 100s and the X2D! If that's possible, it would be great to see.
Thanks for the video. We'll continue to watch no matter how short the content. Also, you should do more videos while drinking.
i got my calendar yesterday after coming from a hectic day at work and it was such a surprise! made a story everybody has seen it but Tom :D ..the calendar is so good that it feels i have won it even though i purchased it! incredible piece of tom's work now decorates my home office wall! thank you!

Life's happens dude!! Is cool!
I'm glad about your family member being well but i initially thought you dropped the camera into the river or something😂😅
I thought that the camera got rained on and failed 😂
its so nice to see your sense for keeping the saturation and contrast on a more moderate and restrained level , a european different taste, compared to another taste and very extreme saturation, almost HDR look from american photogs . being a scandinavian the more holding back postprocessing are more appealling
Was waiting to learn more . Nice to hear you share your personal stuff . Hope your family member is safe and in good health .
No matter what Tom , family comes 1st and foremost
Always family first, Thomas. Glad things are coming along well for the family member. What a terrific package deal on that beer sponsor. Yummmm!
Thank you for the calendar and accompanying print Tom. Delighted with both. I hope you’re family member is doing well. I had a similar experience with a close friend who had to be flown home in an air ambulance from Greece. Best wishes.
Life can get chaotic sometimes, your honesty is partly why I watch your channel
Glad you are fine and your family as well. Take care, be safe and cheers from Spain (Garrotxa, Olot).
got my calendar yesterday with the square print - excellent - Thank You
Glad family is OK.
And thanks for the calenda and print!

A shame you didn't get to fully test out the Hasselblad but nothing is more important than family. I wish your relative a speedy recovery and look forward to hearing about your road trip.
Don't be so hard on yourself, Thomas ... that was a perfect pour! Can you imagine if all that carbonation ended up in your stomach?!
Life happens. Glad to hear person is doing okay. Look forward to next video.
I love your honesty!
Want that beer. Damn I’m in Canada. The cans look like art pieces. Watta deal!
Cheers!
I'm guessing Hasselblad wouldn't liked the "ooops, stuck in Greece" excuse for not sending the camera back 😉.
Happy to hear everyone is well and thanks for an honest video. Sometimes life just doesn't follow your plan 🤷♂️
Thanks for providing entertainment.
Hey Thomas -- like others have said, family always comes first. Content is a distant second to that (though God knows we all love the content!)

I just received my calendar. It's absolutely amazing! You did a fantastic job with it. I love it!
Calendar arrived 🍻
What do you mean you “hope the content will get better”?!? Are you mad? Your content is fantastic week after week. Love this channel (Hope your family member is on the mend!)
Thanks for an enjoyable video! So glad to hear your family member is fine.
I've done similar shutter speeds hand held with my R5. IBIS is a brilliant invention
Family always comes first. Perhaps if someone at Hasselblad sees this they might give you another few days with the X2D.
well, at least you got a few super nice photos with the Hasselblad... and got the Fuji for a bit longer. Looking forward to see what you will come up with it 😄
the ASMR part was legit :D
Family first, pleased to hear they're on the mend.
Re road trip, that wouldn't be Vancouver Island to Nova Scotia with a certain Mr Gibbs to visit Gavin by any chance? Now that would be worth watching 😉
That was evidently the 52nd take on opening the can Thomas. I would but I'm coeliac these days, so Gluten free option would be nice.
Some beefy looking cameras, very interested to hear more 😁
I'm puzzled by how can the little tree in the first shot can be so sharp with such slow shutter speed. How many attempts to nail that shot? You waited for the wind to calm down? Cheers
Great video Thomas and great beer from beer52 mine arrive yesterday 👍👌
Glad all is well with your family. As for that X2D, based upon the title of the video and the first part of it I anticipated that we were going to see a weather-related mishap with the camera! have a great week.
Thomas your videos are inspirational...thank you!! Love your images and your work!
I was worried for a moment that you'd dropped and smashed the camera. . . .glad all is well for your family member who was ill and in need care. That is good news. I will say Thomas - you can make an interesting video out of one image easily . . . . don't know how you do it, but you have.
I was pretty sure you were going to get rain in the camera and short circuit it - but then life intervened and you had to run. Glad everything's okay.
Note to self: Learn to pour ale correctly. 🙂 I'm glad that your family member has been sorted and is on the mend. Greetings from Greece👋
ASMR - LMAO.. I was eating at the time and now my screen needs some very careful cleaning.
Hope your family is all good.
Everything was perfect except this Beer52 part. To lift the mood - I got convinced and placed an order and now can't cancel my subscription! What a shame!

Glad your family member is in good health Thomas. Hope your road trip works out for you! Looking forward to the Autumn content!
I always love your rainy woodland shoots! Beautiful video, and I'm glad your relative is doing alright.
Same as me, only a small group of people like raining days like us. Really like the "white noise" in the raining forest.
Man, when I saw wet and cut short, I immediately had a M50 survived more weather comment ready to deploy. 😂Glad your family member is on the mend👍👍

As an alcoholic, I really hope to not see more alcohol ads inside your lovely videos! But you do you..
Video's time line is marked. Skip them to the next sector
Someone really enjoying the sponsor... ;)
