In the shop of this type you will often find products with the "Ø" label with the text "State-controlled organic", can be voluntarily put on organic food and certain organic non-food products (eg organic dog and cat food) when prepared under organic control in Denmark.

Those palm trees can easily grow in Denmark, since we have very mild winters. Vinyards are getting more common too. Tou can also find peach trees in private gardens. Plus on Bornholm (a little rocky island) Fig bushes and apricots are popular.

Love your surprise at what you find in Denmark and your enthusiasm in explaining it. Farm shops and garden centres like this are often found in the UK, and they bring a form of entertainment, or a day out, atmosphere to the week-end or even week day shopping. Prices are usually good, and the shops are generally run by people who are interested in customers and in what they themselves are doing in presenting their goods, and it is a rare treat to listen to the joy you bring to your exploration of this particular shop, which does look to be a great example of the species.
@niels lund Thank you! I'll never get to see these places. I started watching Jonna Jinton's page a a few years ago. And thought it was all mountainous areas over there! This past couple years, I see I was way wrong. lol
The restaurant at the village shop is what used to be called a "tea room" in the USA. (Where ladies would drink tea and eat things which weren't messy, and no alcohol was served (so all diners would remain on their best behavior while there). They were generally cleaner than local diners (sometimes nicknamed "greasy spoons"), and knowledgeable travelers would seek out the local tea room for meals, because they knew they wouldn't get food poisoning or indigestion from their tea room meals.
I love these types of shops in the US. It's really a breath of fresh air if you live in or near a city to see green farmland, animals and these unique stores and shops.
Olga thanks for sharing your trip to the village shop .look's like it part green house and a petting zoo with the animals there. Also it looks like a tourist destination. "Cost a little more.." The people that live there who shop there are RICH! Those prices were VERY HIGH, definitely higher than equivalent items in USA. I guess a lot of taxes?
@niels lund Some countries allow VAT to be reimbursed to Tourists as they leave through the Customs check point. Keep your receipts and get the VAT reimbursement documentation done by the shop clerk at Point of Sale, and remember that most airlines will not allow live-edge dining room tables on board as "carry-on luggage"; so everything should go smoothly. The Russian AN-2 single engine biplane (largest operating biplane today), most likely will allow sheep, goats and bulky furniture on board if a whole family is going back to the farm in Siberia.
Anyways I believe they call those tables, live edged, as well as shelves and even the fences outside, all live edge. When they leave the tree bark on them. Beautiful and rustic. We have Amish villages here that look similar to the old world design. The rustic look is making a comeback in architectural design. Ie barnwood, galvanized pipes for shelving brackets and edison lightbulbs and various rustic handmade fixtures that I can also make myself.
I saw some live edge tables about 6 years ago and they were really amazing. Prices were high at around $15,000 to $20,000 USD depending on the size and finish. I can only imagine how much they cost today.

The pasifier tree is for children to stop using the passifier by hanging it on the tree. I have seen one once in Denmark. We dont’t have them here in Norway. I think the olive and palm trees are for indors use, in the Winter.
Right about the palm trees; those varieties are particularly suited to being grown in a pot. If you're in the right climate, palms will grow like weeds. (I live in California.) I once had a girlfriend who had a large palm in her front yard. One day all the seed pods dropped from the tree. She was lackadaisical about cleaning them up. (I.e., she didn't do it.) After about a week it looked like she had planted grass and had a healthy lawn. We spent a weekend pulling those things up.
