You need to do a super improved steak challenge. So you can only use grocery store select or choice, so common stuff and no special cuts. And you have to use all the things you learn from experiments to make a steak that punches up above it's grade class. And you could do this by making you and the guys each make a steak based on what they think would work best.
yes but you're being creative and the fear of ridicule and doing something stupid/wrong reduces creativity, and soul creativity is the corner stone of authentic expression
The part of guga accidentally grabbing the hot handle of the pan just makes me feel so much better about myself knowing someone even as amazing as guga still does this 😂
You guys genuinely looked like you were having fun in this video. That’s great to see. I’d love to see Guga’s steak with Nick’s lobster cream sauce on top 🤔
Gugas dish definitely looked nicer and I’m certain the flavors combined for a more unique and interesting taste but Nicks creation was pretty unique and interesting as well. I’d love to try a little of both. You guys are awesome working together.
Nick is a great cook but Guga is just a master of cooking beef. He has all these absolutely nuts experiment videos but when he wants to actually make something proper he absolutely crushes it. He's in a league of his own when it comes to steak.
As a Korean, born and raised, Guga’s pronounciation of 고추장 is spot on. There is an old rice fermented yogurt called EeHwaJu 이화주 and I think it will be great sous-vide or dry age etc. Hope Guga tries it.
Two of my favorite chefs going head to head! And I’m a Japanese that is fussy as heck when it comes to food. And I am really really impressed. Hats off to both of you.
Yo Nick's was MAD creative! I like the idea of a meat lava cake and the thought of a lobster cream sauce literally had me drooling. The end product looked a little messy but I'd still smash! But nothing beats a tried and true Guga Steak! Perfect looking crust, perfect pink, things that you can taste with your eyes! This looked like a lot of fun to do. Thanks for this!
Functionality over creativity when it comes to my food. Had he made it as well cooked as Gougas then sure, maybe Gouga can even do what Nick did but better since he knows meats
Wow. The chemistry between them in the kitchen is absolutly phenomenal. Very entertaining to watch , 10/10 . I laughed my a** off and the recipes and food were as always looking mouth -watering. Thumbs up.
I love how they are in competition but yet they compliment each other and stay focused at the task at hand which is to win! But I love both of them to be honest!
The battle theme is a nice idea. What do you think about using the same ingredients for the next time? The twist would be trying to cook two meals that look as different as possible
Dear Guga, Please make a seperate channel for all the side dishes that you have made (and will make). Your side dishes deserve its own channel! Like this so Guga can see.
and that is certainly how you become a great chef. you don't take a loss with shame but as a learning experience, and you continue to challenge yourself with others again. loved this video!
Honestly you both did a great job! Nick had a little more creativity and experimentation-which is great to have!-but in this head to head, Guga’s expertise and sticking to what he knows tastes best worked in his favor.
If I had to choose one, honestly, I think it would be Nick's purely because it's two for the price of one. I love Wagyu and I love lobster. I think Guga edged ahead on the presentation though, which came as a surprise. Surely that should have been Nick's speciality regardless of the meal? Great video, great friendly rivalry, great food. More collaboration videos in the future please. With side dishes. 😁
Always great to see inventive and interesting things between 2 great chefs, especially you Guga Also Guga you gotta do a ceviche or even another steak tartare but don’t use filet using flank is a secret that’ll give you extra bite but still be tender and delicious
I already liked Guga and I think he makes fun and creative vids but my respect for him just tripled when he didn’t censor the lobster ofc you have to leave that in its part of it and it’s humanly dispatching a food animal if someone is offended by that then stay mad bc no one can help you and we’re not censoring it for you
Yeah I could've understood if there was excessive blood or gore or being concerned over YT's weird vague every frame has to be family friendly policy but it was a quick cut, no liquid. I don't like watching food animals die even tho they're delicious but Nick wasn't brutalizing the lobster.
he is brazilian, probably joking about being korean, he often does videos with picanha ( most popular cut in brazil ), says his favorite drink is Guarana ( popular soda in brazil ) and also has lots of videos speaking portuguese, and he has said that he's brazilian before also.
Just love watching these 2 good guys making food. They are developing a circle of funny, entertaining and excellent chefs. I don't eat steak, but I still learn a lot about cooking from these guys and get some laughs too. Both winners IMO!

I used to work in a fish market, and mad respect for the way Guga handled the non-censorship of killing the lobster. It's a part of eating. I know it can make some people squeamish, but it's the reality of consuming, and it was handled humanely. For those not in the know, Nick asks Guga to "throw it in the water." Presumably he's asking Guga to throw the lobster in an ice bath. This will stun the lobster, so that when they cut into the brain and down through the rest of the vitals swiftly, its less likely the lobster is going to feel any pain. I think if Nick let the judges cut into the steak the idea of the dish would have worked better. I would have been very happy to eat both dishes. Fun channel and challenges.
Boa tarde Guga! Thank you for your video! May I ask a few questions about how you prepared your steak? 1. When you seared it in the pan, did you use oil? If so what kind? 2. For the first butter basting, did you use salted or unsalted butter? 3. For the compound butter, did you use salted butter? 4.
