I’ve dealt with this deputy before through my job. I’ve had many dealings with several deputies from RSO in relation to my job and deputy Calhoun was hands down the nicest, most helpful deputy to ever respond to a call I’ve made to RSO. RSO has a lot of dickhead lazy deputies, but deputy Calhoun stood out as going above and beyond. I never knew him personally but am very saddened by this loss. Prayers to his family.

This makes me sick to my stomach...we need to refund/ super fund law enforcement so there will be 2 officers per vehicle.
He traffic stopped me and let me go after I was in handcuffs and was in this same neighborhood weeks before and asked if we heard gunshots and I thought he was lying but he was really looking out for us I guess bc we had just parked on the end to smoke, For some reason he gave such a good energy off to me bc I have never been in handcuffs, he also checked on me because i have a restraining order, heartbreaking to hear this even though it was only a 30 min interaction
This is sad. This is the 2nd one within weeks that has happened in this department.
So sad! The fact that the same department lost another officer just two weeks prior is unbelievable!

I grew up in Lake Elsinore over 40 years ago. This is terrible news. God Bless his family. RIP Deputy Calhoun. I heard that there was another recent Deputy killed in the area. My condolences to that deputy's family as well. I remember when police office killings used to be very rare. I would like to have it be like that again.
