if the adjective ends in -ний replace any а, у or о with я ю е.
На 4 пишется синяя рубашка.

funny in norwegian we also have a word for "turning red" = rødme, and red is "rød"
Interesting... You know, in brazilian portuguese we also say that when a fruit isn't ready to harvest/eat it's "green" (verde)

Nice to know about the meanings of some colors. I would like to ask about your example for "blue", regarding the Mas., Fem. and Neu. endings. You imply that it is the same as all the color adjectives, like black and so on. Is this true? would you show the 3 endings for blue?

When I spell out how the word green should sound in English I come up with zyelyonee but when you say it you say zeeyonee. What am I missing on this word?

a simple example of why it would be a dumb step to throw the alphabet almost completely covering all sounds in Russian in short form

Some sounds like ы х ц щ ш cannot be represented accurately when transcribed to Latin.
