- What Is The Best or Suggested Oil For 2 Stroke Motorized Bicycle Premix?
the cheapest of course.
YES. You can use motor oil in a 2 stroke motorized bicycle in an emergency. Use the same as regular 2 stroke oil. I suggest you carry small syringes to measure the proper amount of oil.
*** Temporarily.

Oil / Gas mix ratios:
40:1 Ratio
equals
3.2 oz per gallon
95 ml per gallon
or 9.5 ml per a tenth of a gallon
AND...
25ml per liter

I've used pennzoil outdoor 2-cycle for years now. 4 oz. per gallon. It's cheap ($2.99 a pint) and never had any issues. Thanks for the video, Hughes!
Thank you!
This guy is legendary. 🙌🏽😎 great advice. All the time.
Aww shucks. my momma told me I'd never be seen as handsome, so be handy and help when you can.
Good to see your doing videos again. Hope everything has been going ok.
All good. Back in action. Lots more planned
26:1 since new on my 1 piece china doll. Over 800 miles later running 93 non ethanol Sunoco gas with NO issues. I run STP 2 stoke oil from AutoZone that says on the back it's for motorcycles. Highly recommended! 32mph uphill and 46+ downhill on a 29" bca sc29 MTN bike. Stock carb, no engine mods.
Redline synthetic racing oil has instant 7-10% power gain and excellent piston life. For a couple cents more why not..?.. Echo red does clean the carbon every 1000 miles. In a pinch is use quicksilver marine (Walmart)which yes is for a water motor/air cooled, but has a low flash point because of that burns clean without residue on the rich side.
Ran dollar store brand at 40:1 last summer in my 49cc and Royal Purple in my 80cc same ratio. After taking the jugs off i will never run cheap oil at that ratio again.Royal purple engine still had all of the chrome lining left and many miles to go but the 49cc had lost almost all lining in one summer so as the man says, use what you want and suffer the consequences... of using cheap oil at 40 to 1
I'll offer you also need to think of how cheaply they are plated. Question. Did yours flake off because of inferior plating?
@@HughesMotorized no flaking was noted it looks as though it just wore away. Both are the cheap 1 piece jug style motors but run like champ.I was just surprised at the lack of wear protection from the cheaper oil
@@HughesMotorized you didn't mention anything about 2 stroke generator, 2 stroke generator are often rated to 3000 rpm, which is similar to 4 stroke diesel engines. I think that you can't use 2 stroke outboard oils and sae 40 monograde oils in bikes and any high revving 2 stroke engines, but for generator, it can be different
I just re-use the little oil bottles that have the measurement window on the back.
I use Lucus, and when I'm in a budget, Quaker State 2 cycle for my PK80 engine. 40:1 gas/oil ratio.**
**
I decided to take Hughes's advice and go with 40:1 on the oil. It's doing a lot better!
Thank god a sensible guy
I've ran used motor oil for 4,000 miles (Since new about 5 year ago) Around the 3,000 mile mark the spark plug gap started closing up. I found the wrist pin and wrist pin bearing were worn. I replaced the top end (with original cyclinder that I sanded by hand to breakt the glaze) and it's been fine since. I run a thicker mix, probably 32:1, but I'm not even scientific about it anymore. I just glub a few chugs of oil for every gal of gas. I've probably saved enough in 2 stroke oil that I could buy another $100 bike kit with the savings.
Preach! These things are simple. Why overthink it is the word
lucas 2t oil hands down. i have an engine with 25k miles on it and the previous one with 10k miles on it. both used lucas but the first one used other oils first. i have had the least wear and longest life with lucas. i have sold used cylinders with up to 10k miles on them. people bought them and were very happy as the cylinders looked brand new no scarring and good crosshatch.
Have seen test with outboard oil in chainsaws and no issues, there are some outboard oil that has a JASO rating on bottle so it would work in an air cooled engine, Wish he would had touch base using snowmobile 2 stroke oilas most are air cooled.I have use 30 weight non detergent oil to mix with, a little smoke but worked just fine.
This such B's I only use Pennzoil marine 2 stroke oil synthetic blend it does way better with moisture and temperature s
I used marine oil. At 32:1. Then I went to 50:1 about a month later
I use 100 octane here from arco. 2 gallons of 100 octane 5oz of pennzoil premium multi-purpose 2-Cycle & 1/2 ounce of Marvel Mystery Oil. 😅😅😅
[MMO] ~ 33oz $16
[Pennzoil] ~ 1 gallon $22
[100 Octane] ~ 2 gallon $20
$58 total
I ride my bike 15 miles to work & back.
That’s 30 miles .
I ride 5 times out the week for the past 4 years & I haven’t fcked up the motor yet 😂🎉
Edit - I just started to add motokrote 1oz for every 2 gallon in gas ⛽️
That lucas oil is awesome thats the only oil i run.
the thing is with my I'm still young and I'm definitely not going to be allowed to buy a new engine if it breaks down. So I got the good oil PENRITE 4L MC-2 FULLY SYNTHETIC 2 STROKE OIL. I bought 4 liters of it it was around 80$ I'm trying to make this engine last for a long time.
Ps that's in Australian dollar too
Okay Tq
Love how to the point he is
i run 50 to 1 lucas now and can get it a local Walmart thanks man and btw to hell with 4 stroke lol there junk
I just bought a gallon of marine oil but it says it’s great for small air cooled engines.
Some have been formulated for both
What should I use to break in a new engine it’s a 80cc
According to his other videos he says run 40:1 from cradle to grave.
If I use 4T oil in a 2T engine it could damage it or it doesn't affect...
It's not ideal but way back in the day people ran used motor oil in 2 strokes.
@@HughesMotorized oil of any type of vehicle or motorcycle engine or just motorcycles....
I run a full synthetic 3 or 4 oz to 1 gallon , just wondering is full synthetic is better quality than universal or not.
I don't think it matters so much since these engines are so poorly built. Some can run one forever on cheap and expensive oils. Some self destruct with the best oils so it's luck of the draw. Build, explode, fix. Repeat.
4oz per here, it's perfect in between ratio for long range riding without either overheating or losing a ton of power
My first time building my Motorized Bicycle next i need gas mix with oil for my motor to start and run good my question its ok remove the top bolts/srews and cylinder head pour some gas mix with oil inside the body cylinder where the piston move.
You can. But far easier to prime the carb, turn choke on and get plenty of gas for starting
Are usually use the top of the oil bottle I just put two capfuls in every time I fill my tank I use bridge and Stratton oil though
there ya go
@@HughesMotorized I was just saying what I do just like you were doing in your video that I liked and watch the whole thing I actually want to see what happens when you put marine oil in one of these Motors just to see the damage there’s a video how much abuse can these motors take
@@trevormurphy7041 I gotcha. Coming soon I will do some destructive testing and let some engines rip. I'll build a metal box and torture the engines till they crater.
@Hughes Motorized I’ll definitely watch that video I have a about 10 year old Skyhawk motor I put it through torture and it still running you got me wondering what you’re going to do stay safe I hope you have a blast 🤯doing it 🤙
@@trevormurphy7041 I'm going to build a steel enclosure w/ one side open for lights & a cam. Start the engine and film it w/ my butt on the safe side then let it rip till they explode. I'll run different things to push the engines like no oil or dust etc.
I learned 3.2 oz Now I could just throw it on the scale👍
That's fluid ounces, volume, not weight.
Love your vids! Learned a lot from u
Glad to hear it!
Can i run Detergentless 4 stroke oil long term
I don't think there's an issue w/ non-detergent. Give it a go
@@HughesMotorized but hey, 2 stroke oils also have detergents
@@danteerskine7678 Agreed. It's not ideal but back in the day lots of people used old motor oil on 2 strokes without serious issues.
@@HughesMotorized of course, using crankcase oil presents a major drawback, the mixed gasoline with the regular monograde/multigrade engine oils should be consumed entirely the same day.
Is Stihl oil good
yes indeed
Can you use chainsaw oil?
Yes you can!
Can we use petrol for motorized bicycle ?
2 stroke require a 40:1 mix gas/petrol to oil. 4 stokes run on straight gas/petrol
@@HughesMotorized But where should i get the oil
@@HughesMotorized Sir can i know which oil should mix with petrol
@@HughesMotorized Beacuse im wanted to motorized my bicycle
@@jagatisharivalagan4669 any hardware store like Autozone idk you Americans have different stores to Australians
Sticky subject. There is even a train of thought that advocates very high ratios of oil, like 50:1 for breakin. The theory being that at 16:1 you will never run it in, or not in a very long time, and the parts never get to bed in properly.
Exactly.. definitely not 16:1 . You need for them rings to seat in. And the carbon buildup isn't good either with so rich of premixes
@@HughesMotorized I absolutely love your approach. Entertaining and informative, and dare I say, REAL... Also amusing that you write like you speak. I come from a toffee nose background in the Colonies, where everything is PC and we speak so called "proper" English.
break in 16:1=no synthetic 4 break in 1 gal, then 32:1= organic, or 40:1= synthetic
