Just got mine yesterday, and I love this scooter! I'm slightly over the top weight, and even in our 45F weather and with a few small hills, I'm getting about 15mi range with 45psi. Running errands to the corner store has never been more fun!
I have spent the last week comparing different scooters to use for my commute around campus. Yesterday, I finally convinced myself to spend the extra money and go with the KQi3 max. This video reinforced that it was the right choice. Hopefully you can update your website to show these stats.

@@evanday1663 you should be able to. Email customer service with order number and ask to cancel before sends out. Niu also has a good return policy.
I'm a happy owner of this KQi3 MAX, which I pre-ordered, and upgraded from a KQi2 Pro (still have and enjoy as backup).
Legit, a great scooter, and I find your opinions/observations correct on all aspects.
Definitely rides a little firm out of the box, and I also adjust tire pressure to 45 lbs PSI.
Zero-start option is now available on the app.
Outgrowing scooters is an issue, and this scooter solves a lot of it with custom MAX speed increase options and versatile app.
Although I like the style/design of the KQi2 Pro better, the KQi3 MAX definitely follows a function over form design which has it's advantages (like the dual, up-angled rubber-covered deck).
The KQi2 Pro console button provides more tactile feedback, which I prefer over the softer, less-tactile console button on the KQi3 Max.
Convinced my brother to get one for his teenage son, my nephew, and he also loves it after I gave him some pointers on maximizing the app options.
I can't stop riding it! I rode it into work today in the rain. I usually try to switch out my scooters daily, but have been stuck on the KQi3 MAX for a month now!!!! I'm so excited to finally be able to publish this review! -Paul

I'm considering lowering the tire pressure to 40-42 PSI for the colder Winter months since I live in Canada on the West Coast.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide in terms of IP ratings the KQi3 Max is ok in the rain? Oregon gets really wet this time of year. I’m also considering spending a bit more for the Ninebot P65 but I’m not finding a lot about that in the rain either.

Hoping NIU creates a performance high quality scooter like the Segway gt2. I’m sure they’ll price it way lower than the gt2 since they are the masters at not letting inflation hike their own prices.
That would be amazing. It's hard to picture, but then I never would have guessed Segway would bring out the GT2. NIU actually has so much background in bigger seated scooters that something like a GT2 wouldn't be that hard for them to pull off. -Paul

Man I think I want this more than the Ninebot G2 Max. I don't know if I really need suspension as long as I manage my technique, and this just outperforms in so many ways.
I just got mine in the mail, and already i love it. Its so well built. And the scooter app is soo nice. Definitely recommend this scooter over the ninebot max the hiboy 2 pro/max or the xiamoi m365 scooters.

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Mine has a flashing " E save" on the display. I ridden it already to hear the beep so i can change it to custom mode. Is this normal? For it to be flashing like that?
@@BlazinPRChulo86 i was confused ny this at first too. When it is blinking “e-save”, it just means it is in custom mode. Strange but thats just how they have it. There are 4 modes. Clicking the power button 5 times fast will turn it into pedestrian/walk mode, and once each for esave (which will not blink but stay solid), sport and custom.

I have a KQi2 Pro for 6 months and decided to get a used Max yesterday because I was feeling the need for more power and speed since I am 6'4" and weigh 216 pounds. It was scary at first ride but wow, what a difference.
The KQi2 is not bad at all, don't get me wrong the hype is real but the Max is at a whole new level.

I'm tremendously interested in the max. The only thing preventing me from going with Niu is the lack of suspension. Not a whole lot of models available in Canada. Niu and Kugoo and Apollo are ones that stood out. Apollo are a bit steep price-wise.

Yes, the NIU KQi3 MAX has a 2 year "warranty" but what does this mean? If it breaks, who will fix it and where will we send it? Who will pay for shipping? What do we do to fix it after the warranty ends? I don't know any scooter shop who will fix broken electric scooters if not bought directly from them. This is the nasty side of the scooter business that no one talks about.
There are stores here who will, as long as you have the parts.

Exactly, from what i have heard from others on reddit you have to ship the entire scooter back (i think they pay for shipping) but still, it takes time and you are left without a scooter

G65 is still tough to get ahold of/very early in the global market currently. The P series a little too, though a bit closer. We definitely want to do the P series eventually, but we're in a tough place where our content calendar is near 100% full all the way till April lol. The market is growing too fast! (and the team has been crushing it this year-so proud of them) - Chase

KQi3 Max is the best value budget scooter with excellent build quality hands down. I strongly recommend it as an every day commuter.
Had mine just over 2 months now,, great scooter but there is alot of maintenance..
Got to go thru every screw and tighten everything on a regular basis,
Be nice to have some suspension but over all it's a cool ride

That's what's kinda holding me back. I live in a hilly area. Only about 8 miles to work and 1, to the store but the hills. I don't want super speeds either.

I was over at ESG site checking the comparison between this and Xiaomi pro, the numbers are quite good for old scooter, the question is , was the Xiaomi tested in the same hill and rider weight ?
Same hill, same weight. Were you looking at the base model or the m365 Pro? The pro was a fair amount faster. Unfortunately, they haven't been available in the US for a while, and when you could findan m365 or m365 pro on Amazon it would be grey market, so no warranty. They seem to be back now with a new model, but it's much more expensive than the m365's -Paul

Interesting ranges for the kqi line.
Kqi2: 25mi advertised, ~16 tested.
Kqi3 pro: 31mi advertised, ~20 tested.
Kqi3 pro max: 40mi advertised, ~23 tested.
Seems like the actual range growth with respect to advertised value is diminishing? Is this perhaps because the max goes faster, and you guys go full throttle for your tests? (17-18mph for the kqi2/3 vs 22mph for the kqi3 max)

Mine was missing a valve cap. Veining a commuter, I want caps. Worse still NIU’s customer service was a truely awful experience. I hate to think what it could be like with a more serious part issue. NIU need to do a lot better. So, no, I won’t buy anything from NIU after this.

Can’t knock niu with quality of these 1st generation scooters but I’m surprised not to see turn signals on any of them. Hopefully on the next ones along with suspension maybe! 🤷♂️ still waiting to see that ultimate commuter at the 1000 there about price point. Think the Apollo air and city, anyhill um2 and niu all have features that tick boxes. Ultimate list for me as someone who is not mechanically minded whatsoever is drum brakes, ip55 or better, turn signals front and back, suspension front or both ends, removable battery, portable so folding handlebars, 10 inch self healing tubeless tyres, decent lighting, 21700 cells and therefore ok range and 500 watt motor with 1000 watt peak. Pretty much a marriage of the scooters named above and should with that spec meet the rumoured uk regulations! 😊

I just bought it ， it takes only 6 hours to charge the battery，not 8 hours in the manual，and the range is 35-40 km for me。I guess this is because the battery has not arrive up to its official capacity，Amazon might sold a second hand scooter to me？ How long does it you to charge it from 0% to 100%？
It’s sometimes faster! Doubt it’s second hand. Always depends on factors

I am more interested in the Warranty , This is what sets these scooter apart . They are all being built all the about the same. Warranty, tell us more about how good it is or who has the best Warranty.
This is the longest warranty out there for a scooter. Support will vary from country to country, but they are an up and coming brand, and are one of very few brands that are public (disclosure, I own a tiny amount of their stock). So they have a lot of incentive to get support right. -Paul

To be honest I’ve seen this taken apart there’s no gaskets to stop water getting in. You get caught in a rainfall and you can kiss goodbye to your scooter. It will fill up with water fast

"Niu" in chinese means Cow or Bull which is interesting to know when you go to look at their logo lol.

Doesn't the KQi3 pro also have self-healing tires?
It's possible that both are self healing, but if you go to the bottom of the Amazon page for the MAX, there's a comparison between the three scooters: The KQi3 Pro's tires are described as "9.5" rubber tubeless" and the MAX's tires are described as "9.5" self healing tires". I haven't removed the tires from the wheels to check though. -Paul

What is the real charging time
4-6 hrs usually!
0:24 Hiboy S2 Max is 48V. Evercross H5 is 48V (although slightly different form factor). All cheaper than Niu.
4:02 Evercross H5 has front and rear disc brakes. Yadea KS5 Pro has front drum and rear disc. Both cheaper than Niu.
Things I wish it has: Solid tires, front or full suspensions, seat option, drum brakes, remove the need of using the app, and make it cheaper. $950 is still pretty expensive for what it has. More and more scooters in this class are $600 to $900 before discount. Hence, not my choice.

Yooo has anyone's KQi3 max scooter like randomly turned off? It won't turn on for me and it's charged. It turns on sometimes but only for a few seconds

How bad is the customer service of NIU? So many customers are talking about their non-cooperation and hassle..
We have not heard of many issues!
No front suspension. No matter how much you reduce the tire pressure, you'll feel the road hammering your shoulders.

It may be a while before we get to that one. Has anyone reported more performance out of it, or does it just have better range. I suppose it could have slightly better performance due to less voltage sag when running flat-out. -Paul

Hmmm.... Looks a little awkward for Big Dawg's at walk speed, looks a little unstable for them in the stem and handlebars. Shouldn't be a problem for young skinny whipper snappers though

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I had the NAVEE S65, but it was stolen. For around $1000, I'm looking at Kaabo Mantis 8 and Zero 9.

No suspension for sure, but what's good about NIU scooters is they also have a decent, built-in, anti-theft Quick-Lock feature through the app, which when enabled, you just continue holding the power button for 3 seconds after shutting down and it goes into Lock mode.
It locks the electronic brakes and alarms the scooter upon motion/movement (audible, but not loud), making it completely unusable without the original paired phone device/app.

If they remove that forced feature in the future I would absolutely be interested in niu future products 😉
Recently they updated their app to allow you to disable kick to start. That was the only real flaw with their scooters but now they have fixed it

The app has zero start feature. Its awesome
I'm the opposite, I always turn on kick to start, it just feels much more natural
stuck on this or a vsett 8

No suspension? No thanks. Anytime I’ve fallen has been on a scooter with no suspension.
Interesting. How did suspension help you to not fall? Which scooters with suspension are your favorites. I love suspension, but I've also found that bad suspension can definitely be worse than no suspension. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide the ninebot which I loved but Toronto streets have huge pot holes. It didn’t even bounce it sank and stopped me from 30km to zero in one second. 😂 cracked a rib and ruined one month of summer. Then I got a emove cruiser. Never happened again !
