That is a fantastic story about forging her birth certificate! It's incredible how Melody could look younger or older when she wanted. I had a crush on her back in F Troop. A fabulous life cut short. But she gave us all she had forever.
I met Forrest Tucker (Sgt O'Rourke) when I was a teenager. I was the regular caddy for Mr Tucker's uncle and he came out to play with his uncle and other invited guests a couple of times a week. Mr. Tucker was very nice to all of the caddies and would slip us $10 bills after each round. On his last round, when the play he was in was closing, Mr Tucker gave all the caddies a $100 bill. This was really big bucks in 1969. I enjoyed F-Troop and told Mr Tucker so. He seemed pleased to hear it. Also, he was a hell of a good golfer and could absolutely crush a drive.

Beautiful. I was an early grade schooler when F-Troop was airing. Then as now I saw her as one of the prettiest girls I had ever seen. As other's are commenting it's amazing that she was only 16 or 17 when on F-Troop. This is going back to memory of some 50+ years so correct me if I'm wrong. A tribe of Indians got lost. @@bluelionsage99 👍 When F-Troop was airing I thought if I just had to get married as warranted by grown up society then I desired to be blessed by God that she be just like cowgirl Jane! I was something like 10 years okd then. So like most boys that age to me marriage was a serious impending likely hood and I even went so far as to imagine me growing up, finding Jane in CA and marrying her. I lived in NJ. I even prayed that she wouldn't get married until I was old enough to marry her. Well I am married for basically 40 years to my wife but her name's not Jane.
@@bluelionsage99 You beat me to it!..I was just about to type that when I read yours..To me, the funniest line ever spoken on a show that was full of them...I still think of it, and chuckle to myself, some 50 years later...I think that was Chief Wild Eagle's line, or was it Crazy Cat?..those two were so damn funny, together..Good god I loved that show!..60's had the best shows, hands down!
I fell in love with her when I was 5! Always liked Larry and Forest whenever they played together, which they did several other times. You've got some excellent research skills, Buddy!
It doesn't compare to Brooke Shield's age and roles in Pretty Baby and the Blue Lagoon or Traci Lords' age in the adult industry before going mainstream. Also in those days the male and female love interests could be 20 or more years apart.
Two more screamer roles Larry Storch played were, Charlie the Drunk in two episodes of the TV Comedy show"Car 54 Where are You?", and as a motorcycle cop in the Comedy Movie "Sex & The Single Girl". In the latter, the look on his face as he hung his head in shame after an elderly couple drove their Model A Ford over his motorcycle, is absolutely priceless! I saw it in a theater when it first came out in 1965. I still screamed with laughter when I saw it again a year ago.
Storch also played Antoine the hairdresser. Shari Lewis was his girlfriend. Storch would sneak out to a boxing gym and beat everybody up as a way to destress from his beauty parlor customers. Very funny episode.
If memory serves, the elderly couple was none other than Miss Lauren Bacall and Henry Fonda in a Movie Co Starring Miss Natalie Wood and Tony Curtis as feuding and romancing Magazine Editors!😂🎥🚘📰B.W.
I read an F-Troop book one time and an Indian chief had a really funny line. "You ever try to commit suicide with a bow and arrow? I almost killed myself!" I laughed so hard that I still remember that line today! 😉😎🤦♂️
L loved F-Troop.....It was one of my very FAVORITE after school shows when I was in Jr. high school. I still love the re-runs. I managed to record about 15 episodes. I still laugh just as hard!

I grew up in the 60s watching F-troop,and loved it ,but the sad part of it is most people don't even remember this show, and you can't find it here on y-tube either........
Talented and wholesome with a genuinely bright smile. I’m glad the Hollywood system didn’t corrupt her life and I miss the days when absurd comedy didn’t involve the humiliation of others.
I am not sure how much acting Melody had done prior to F Troop, but one can say that, at 16, she was old enough not to fall too deeply into the exploitive trap that has so often ruined the lives of actors and actresses who landed their first big roles at much younger ages.
Your tone is so relaxing. And there's no doubt you love these shows as I do If I'm not giggling at the show I'm giggling at you giggling at the show great job. You my friend are a joy..

I was love with Melody Patterson in 1971 when i was 4 years old when we used to get Ftroop on channel 2 in Harvey, Western Australia. Melody was simply gorgeous.
I’m here because of the Adam 12 appearance man she was beautiful! Never watched F troop though ,may start now ..she rocked the 60’s hair ,beautiful lady !
Picking the favorite hot chick from the Sixties TV is like choosing a favorite child. It's just wrong. But I loved Melody. The whole cast was brilliant and the interplay with her and Wilton was hysterical; he played it perfect. Great video, well done.
I was a kid and didn't understand at the time but that eating scene between her and LARRY STORCH went over my head but I found it funny anyway. Great video on a nice actress.
I was shocked when I heard of Melody's passing in a small-town nursing home just outside Branson Missouri. Such a tragic loss. When I found out how young she was on "F-Troop", I figured the studio must have been awfully careful in how they handled her relationship with Ken Berry.
I was 10 when F Troop started and Wrangler Jane was a HUGE crush. Her and Elly May from Beverly Hillbillies. And Jeanie from I Dream of Jeanie. And.......
Melody Patterson was a pretty young girl in F-Troop. I had no idea just how young she was‼️. I didn't know that she died so young either. She led a very interesting life.
Interesting that she was only 16. Her character was often "the only grown-up in the room." She played it well. 16 was the age of consent back the period, as well as in many areas still. Ironically, her having a handgun and under 21 would be a sticking point in modern times. She was pretty and a very good actress.
That said, though, it caused trouble for Ken Berry who was literally twice her age when F Troop premiered. The kissing scenes made him uncomfortable because of how young she was.
I'm just surprised at how very few acting parts she had after F Troop. She really was both pretty and a great actress, and I'd have loved to see her in other major roles. But it seems like very few women in TV shows at that time ever made it big in more than one role.
I am binge watching this series for like the 3rd time in the last 10 years. May be the funniest show ever. Before my time a few years but not many. Have pretty much every show of the 60's and rotate them all. Throw I Love Lucy in there and I have enough TV to keep me happy. A time of innocence with comedy and not forced. The 60's and early 70's is best era of Television ever. I two so wholesome and clean

Closely related to the Fukawee tribe I believe.
F Troop was my favorite tv show at that time! Lots o laughs!
I also liked the name of the Indien tribe there - the Fakawi. Which really means "F***, where are we." Surprised it made it through the censors.
@@AusNetFan13 It was Hekawi. The writers couldn't get Fugawi past the censors.
Larry Storch!!! The last cast member standing at a young 98 years old!!!!
He also played the voice of Mister Phineus J Whoopie on Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales.
Storch is still alive. Wow, that's cool, didn't know that.
I fell in love with her when I was 5! Always liked Larry and Forest whenever they played together, which they did several other times.
You've got some excellent research skills, Buddy!

Always loved Larry, I think all little kids learned what cool looked like with the groovy guru, may the burglar of Banff live for ever😃🏴☠️
Thank you for an up date on Melody Patterson & F Troop
Cannot believe she was only 16 on "f" troop.
That was my first reaction when he said she was born in 1949. F Troop started in 1965. How on earth did they get away with that?
It doesn't compare to Brooke Shield's age and roles in Pretty Baby and the Blue Lagoon or Traci Lords' age in the adult industry before going mainstream. Also in those days the male and female love interests could be 20 or more years apart.
@@orlock20 Well, Traci Lords snuck in without revealing her age. Somehow.
I forgot about Brooke Shields.
@@scvandy3129
Look for him as Charlie the Drunk in an episode of Car 54 Where are You? where the guys get him a job as a diamond cutter.😮😁
That's funny ! Thanks for sharing, wait, this isn't an AA meeting is it ?

I remember one line from DeCorva,
" It is balloon ! "
Wow. Thank you for that (essentially) tribute. That was great.
I've always been a leg man, and the clip at 10:44 with Melody in a short dress shows she had pair of top notch stems!
That was a great story!
Love that she had support from her parents.
Melody sure was easy on the eyes. A real woman & a real sweetheart too.
@Ross Smith I loved her everything. She certainly was a beautiful woman. Just saying.
And very talented as an actress.
L loved F-Troop.....It was one of my very FAVORITE after school shows when I was in Jr. high school. I still love the re-runs. I managed to record about 15 episodes. I still laugh just as hard!
They are great and still make me laugh :)
I've just stumbled upon your channel and I can tell from your voice all the love, respect and appreciation you have for those you portray. It's so nice to find so much about the people I grew up with in TV land. Thank you.
you're a great u tuber, love your content and especially your narration... great work, cheers
Much appreciated!
💜
I loved this show as a kid, on Channel 53 in Pittsburgh in the 70s. Great video, thanks for this.
Always liked her. She was my favorite on the show. Along with Larry Storch… he was hilarious…
I agree
I’m binge watching your videos, they’re awesome! I’m a native of St. Louis myself from Overland, MO. 1983 graduate of Ritenour Sr. High School. Keep doing what you’re doing, I’m learning so much cool trivia!!!
I was love with Melody Patterson in 1971 when i was 4 years old when we used to get Ftroop on channel 2 in Harvey, Western Australia. Melody was simply gorgeous.
The Wrangler Jane and Agarn “eating” clip is actually a parody of a scene in TOM JONES (1963)!
Your channel deserves many more subscribers than it has.
This show was so funny... it should have continued. Loved it!!!
Thank you for posting this video !
Sad to see her career fizzle out so early after such a bright start. But back in the old days there simply weren't that many productions available.
Larry Storch was riot ! I went to school with a guy who looked like him ! Most under rated comedian !
I can’t believe only 16 she was amazing . So sweet 🥹 .

And.......
Yeah, Barbara Eden (I dream of Jeannie) and agent 99 (don't recall her name) from 'Get Smart'.

Melody Patterson was a pretty young girl in F-Troop. I had no idea just how young she was‼️. I didn't know that she died so young either. She led a very interesting life.
Born in '61
Addicted to TV since.
Totally agree! Often the only grown-up in the room! Good writing, and acting. Edit: And a good role model for girls, come to think of it.
I loved "F" troop. It was funny. Thanks!!

As a a kid growing up in the 60s, Melody was my crush. Not Jeannie, not Maryann, not ginger ...Melody.
Same here! Same age group. I even prayed that she wouldn't get married until I was old enough to marry her! Cowgirl Jane beat out all of the leading ladies of Hollywood for me at that age they were too stuffy and boring! Ha-hah! aka these days as lol.
Jane, not in front of the men!
Nothing better then a beautiful, sassy, country girl...NOTHING, ...R.i.p.Mel!
I met Melody at a event in Massachusetts and she had a booth there for autographs and I was waiting to meet a different star and passed by her booth nobody was there so I asked her who she was and when she said her name I knew who she was right away. she was board because lack of people looking for autographs and such so I hung out with her for over an hour what a sweet lady she was. she told me some wild story's about her career. I have her photo here someplace I got her to sign it and did a personal pic of us together. as I always do with others at these shows. I still have her email address as she wrote it down. when she passed I was a bit down on hearing the news as many were at the time.
