Gender is just kinda a feel you have. As a young girl I ran with a pack of boys, stomped in the mud, got into play-fights and loved video games. I had no dolls and refused to wear dresses. But I still know I'm not trans. I don't feel uncomfortable in my body or in the way people perceive me. I don't want to be seen as a man. I'm just a less-stereotypical woman. It's really all about how you WANT TO BE SEEN. Everyone deserves to have that want to be validated. Addition: And the beauty of childhood is that those boys I ran with considered me one of their pack, no question. I was so sad when I hit puberty (and moved) and suddenly boys wouldn't come within 10 feet of me because cooties or whatever. My peers started to look down on me for not conforming. I wasn't allowed to be what I wanted to be anymore because of stupid societal norms, and that made me so upset and angry... Huh, doesn't that sound familiar? I understand a fraction of what trans people feel through these experiences. I think we all can, to a point, if we just open our hearts a little.
It's reasoning like this that me feel like I can never really identify as a 'man' in the sense that a lot of people seem to expect. If you're just validating the words that I say then are you really understanding me? It just feels like it lacks a sense of foundation. This is why I like religions like Christianity. If there's a creator that created us for a purpose then I feel like that's something I feel I can base my identity on. But this system of mutual validation for the sake of validation that your comment suggests just seems so empty to me.
@@Kurushimi1729 True understanding of course comes with time. You're never going to understand everyone you meet. But you can still respect people's identities and autotomy even if you don't know them very well.

A trans man friend of mine answered the question of what it feels like to be a guy really well. He explained that it feels like having a liver. You wouldn't know what goes on in their body or mind and outright dismissing their problem doesn't solve it.
@@galaxyocicat5660 Not, a good argument. The hip pain can be caused from spinal problems to infections, and the hip was replaced with the help of abstract physical evidences ( X rays, mri etc) . The 'boy plays with dolls so parents decide he is trans' thing is always so weird to me. My little brother was obsessed with Barbies growing up and so my parents got him a number of dolls over the years until he was like 8 and stopped playing with them. I think there was a Halloween he wanted a princess dress too and they let him. Fast forward 15 years and he is still 100% cis and a lot more masc than a lot of other guys. He figured out/accepted he was gay pretty easily some time in high school. Meanwhile I am actually trans, absolutely hated all the girly things my brother enjoyed, and didnt accept that I was bi/trans till starting college.

@@kindredspirit9703 Yeah its something I think about on occasion. I had an extremely similar experience. My family said my friend was a tomboy so I asked them about "tomgirls" and they just told me that doesn't exist. Now I'm trans 20+ years later
I am Cis but used to play with my sisters dolls and put on their shoes, probably also tried makeup when I was really young. I was curious of woman, having only sisters and dad was away a lot. This was in the 1970s and I remember my sisters making fun of me and telling me boys don’t do that. I also kept asking why it was like that. Because it’s just that way Michael wasn’t any kind of logic I was concerned with hearing.
When I was going through my tomboy phase, my peers would ask me if I liked boy things or if I wanted to be perceived as a boy. I said I just like guy things, but I am a girl, and that was that. They just wanted clarification. This was 2002/2003. The outrage over trans folks is just clearcut learned negative behavior. It's all projection and a desire to control others. ❤ Blessed be
The funniest thing about this argument to me is that I'm a trans man and I still like wearing dresses. The clothing I wear has nothing to do with my gender identity, the only reason I dress more masculine is that I feel a need to "prove myself" to cis people. I dress a lot more feminine around close friends because I like it, and I can trust them to see the real me beyond the clothes I wear.
I'm kind of the same as a trans woman. I prefer men's pants because pockets, I'm a raging lesbian, I was the only person in my house who watched the Super Bowl for the football, my musical preferences lean towards metal, punk, and progresive rock, you get the idea. I'm pretty sure that if I was a cis girl I'd be a tomboy verging on soft butch, and as a trans girl I see no reason to live any differently. When I was trying to settle on living as a very feminine man I kept a lot of the more masc elements of my personality hidden. I felt like I had to scrape and scramble to claim every last bit of femininity that society would allow me, to get something close to what I needed. Now that I'm just a woman I don't feel that need.
Same here. I'm a gay transguy. I love dressing feminine and stopped caring what other people perceive me as. Yeah it sucks being misgendered but going on T has changed it for me. I feel super masc, I just don't like mens clothing cus it's boring and boxy lol.

Although they probably mean it like "those people are narcicists", the thought itself is quite interesting. Not like going BOOM and turn a rock into a car with the snap of a finger, but in the matter of creating. Story-writers are a good example for that, since, through words, they can create a world of their own, where they act as an omni-potent-being able to manipulate that world through writing, using their mind and their creativity to shape the reality of this world one might reduce to mere fiction when, in fact, it is a form of meaningful art. Btw, love your N-profile. Looks super cool. 😎
It's so weird seeing a clear Roman Catholic use the terf argument of "Trans people reinforce gender stereotypes" given the church has entire branches that are gender segregated.
What's ironic is that for years, trans people HAD to be present themselves as extremely binary to get any healthcare at all. The Catholic church knows that men and women have different roles, it doesn't say that women can only wear certain colours and play with certain toys. Have you ever heard of Joan of Arc?? She wasn't a typical girl and she is a Saint and highly revered in Catholicism.
Being a woman is more multifaceted than merely wearing dresses in our church, we have figures of great feminity driving tent spikes into the heads of tyrants, of great women, whom in times of dire need, rise up to the occassion and joins the men in military conflict, and women whom through great grace, forgave her rapists and murderer as she lay dying on her death bed. Being a woman to us catholics is something significant, not a costume to be worn, but a life that is honored by living it correctly. You leftists degrade what a woman is, we give honor to femininity

@@Seanain_O_hEarchai Having been debollocked myself, I can assure you I'm a much more functional member of society as a woman than I ever could have hoped as a man. @@Seanain_O_hEarchaiapologies to the girl you were talking to for answering on her behalf, but removing your balls isn't like removing a hand, you don't need them whatsoever because your worth isn't dependent on your ability to procreate, that's just a bad take overall. You will struggle with day to day tasks if you remove a hand, but not your balls. Also, improving one's quality of life is purely beneficial, and she said she feels loads better after seeking gender affirming care. That's that, we needn't ask any more.
I was reading an article on how gender exploration therapy is unethical and one really important part of care that was brought up is that it is incredibly important to take the patients wishes seriously because if you dont they will be unwilling to share their feelings or seek help for other problems. For example if having anxiety is seen as a reason to not give gender affirming care then trans people will avoid getting help for anxiety.

His beginning argument is kinda silly given, imo, Gender Identity is a individual based factor, that we simply wish for others to embrace. You can't force these ideas of trans-ness onto someone just because they show signs. No matter how involved you are with them, you will never 100% be in their head space and really know exactly how they feel. You can't force or not force it, because it isn't up to you to encite the change, it's up to you to accept that change, or not if you're against trans people ig. You can be anything you want in your own mind, but physically you can present as such to allow others to understand and process that, you can't have this imposed onto you.
You’d think. But they’d say god wouldn’t make that mistake. You were born in the body you were supposed to be in and you have a path to follow that reflects that. I’ve heard it all before 🙄
Ah, yes, infants with fatal mutations or deformities got the correct bodies too. It's wonderful how easily justifications for religious arguments can be pulled apart with a little bit of, "So what about X case?"

I'm a trans women and I've only worn a dress out of the house one time (my very small wedding, maybe 10 people max saw us)

Although they probably mean it like "those people are narcicists", the thought itself is quite interesting. I mean, if you think about it, we all are developed into a species that is above nature and have the ability to shape our surroundings into what we desire.
Lou Sullivan was a trans guy who made it possible to be trans and gay, since before then you had to be straight to be allowed to medically transition. There have always been plenty of gnc trans people, especially now (fem trans men and masc trans women and the like), but they get invalidated by these same people 😭. We can't win either way, it's such nonsense.
Because that how real life works. Your own existence came from a man and a woman so stop yapping
I'm 63 he is ex-gay I'm almost a thousand percent sure cuz he's talked about it in the past. I may be wrong but good points vosh This makes I'm so tired of it it's the same old talking stuff. ❤

I've never heard the term "ex-gay" but I have heard a lot of people say that they know it's a choice because they had gay urges and chose to ignore them... It's very strange.
@@Reed5016 not only that, they are furious at all the gay people living thier best lives in happiness.
I got an ad for this guy after watching this video and I was like: HELL NO I AIN'T F****** LISTEN TO ANYONE WHO THINKS I SHOULD JUST STOP THINGS I PHYSICALLY CANNOT STOP
Doesn't the whole "your soul has a gender" fall apart when you retort it with "yeah, my soul is female yet I've been put in a male body"?
You’d think. But they’d say god wouldn’t make that mistake. You were born in the body you were supposed to be in and you have a path to follow that reflects that. I’ve heard it all before 🙄
Ah, yes, infants with fatal mutations or deformities got the correct bodies too.
It's wonderful how easily justifications for religious arguments can be pulled apart with a little bit of, "So what about X case?"
@@CyreniTheMage in that case they throw their hands up and say it’s gods plan and it’s not them to know. God had a plan for that baby and blah blah blah. You can never win against a being based on faith ☹️
@@Haiisu And that path would be... to transition. Trans people aren't harming others by transitioning, so you'd think God would make it obvious in some other way not to do that if the price was eternal torment.
@@Haiisu and makes sense
Being a Man (or a Woman) doesn’t feel like anything at all. We only know what it feels like to be ourselves.
