The cipher the zodiac used in his letter that supposedly had his name in it was incorrectly made making it nearly impossible to solve, after finding a couple of discrepancies they fixed the errors and were able to translate it. It does not in fact contain his name, and it discredits that guy who called a radio show pretending to be him.

I highly doubt this guy was the killer. Law enforcement has done this several times. Non law enforcement groups have claimed this person or that person is the killer. I think this is just one of those cases we will never know the truth. Not every case gets closure sadly.

Problem is that, it has been announced many times, and it was always wrong. I hope for the victims' families that this time it's for good, that they can at last end their grief and turn the page. Otherwise, this kind of news should remain hidden until 100% sure, as it can renew distress and grief for the famillies, and bring turmoil for the suspected persons' families as well.
