    3:37 That's a lot of standby power😮

    Great idea. Look attractive as an experiment that might prove dependable. The Risk I see is: If you have a smart meter like I do in California, and that limiter function malfunctioned; that could mean scrutiny and problems from the utility supply company. Might be better to use the grid as backup for an island type solar back up (possible with All in Ones like MPP LV2424 configured properly, or others).

      Works fine so far ... I hope it stays that way

    I like your explanation that your goal is to take the edge off your power bill. You're currently in a rental right? So you're just investing the bare minimum that you can pick up and take with you should you have to leave. I hope to one day see you in your own place because I think that you will DIY an amazing solar system......all this you are doing right now is prep and learning for when that time comes.
    I also want to take the edge off and am looking at something similar....not necessarily decreasing my power bill but allowing me to use more power like letting my daughter run the AC in her bedroom for longer hours and running the AC in my home office when the sun is producing.
    Cheers, great video.
    Edit: Maybe you are in your own home, apologies if I got that wrong. Either way, I am sure your solar journey will just keep growing :) and we, the viewers, will enjoy your journey :)

      @@vegasromaniac great stuff, looking forward to watching your solar system grow. You have great ideas and explanations for what I've seen so far.

    You can have only 1 meter and have to use option two, same meter will split the load to two inverters, e.g. 500 watts load shown on meter, each inverter will produce 250w. I am doing this way in Australia. I use it on 24V battery system, solar charge the battery and night time only load is powered by the battery. Yes design is bad for these inverters, they are named by many other names, mine are soyosource brand.

      I have a month since I posted this video and I pushed 100 kilowatts through the network so far This is what I can give you as an update So far the performance was flawless and also after further investigation I realized that this is the only brand that works with my type of a meter setup because where I could actually install the probes there's no room in my fuse box to install subtractor probes from the different brands so I'm stuck with this particular setup and I just order my second one that way I could basically produce about 12 00 to 1400 and split among the two phases and I'm golden

    So, I was thinking of connecting a Y&H 1200W grid tie micro inverter to (6) 12V 100W ECO worthy solar panels wired 3 in series and then in parallel so you have two 36V solar systems going into the 1200W grid tie inverter. In addition I have a voltage boost solar charger (the same on your video about charging a Sur Ron on solar) on a switch so I can charge my Sur Ron when I don't want to be plugged into the inverter to supplement my system. The outlet I have on it is a GFI and nothing else is going to it from the panel to the inverter. Is there something I am missing where this could be a potential fire or should that be sufficient enough that I can continue to supplement my house and switch to charge my Sur Ron when I don't want it to. This is all on a small shed I have in the backyard. I'm just trying to pick your brain if you see anything I'm not seeing, please let me know if you would like me to elaborate more. Thank you.

    Do you know if someone makes a limiter sensor for regular power inverters to back feed the home? Would be cool.

    I have 4 245 watt panels I just got used from Santan Solar here in AZ. I was hoping to keep this as minimalist as possible. But when rewatching your videos very carefully, I get a lot of info that is incredibly important. And in this case I believe you stated if I only grid tie to one of the two 120 volt phases coming into the house, somehow the energy company will know (and even charge me for the power I am using from my own panels). I really don't want to buy two of these grid-tie inverters; but this whole project is pointless if the energy company is going to nullify any monetary savings I am working to create for myself.
    So my question, is this true? Or did I misunderstand?

      I've discovered that if I push thru one leg and use thru the other the meter sensor gets fooled , so I am still getting credit z my meter is not smart enough to read per leg and only counts total flow .. both directions

    If home already had previous solar installed with credits can you just run them without the limiters?
    I’m only doing this to add a bit of power

    • @vegasromaniac
      @vegasromaniac  4 місяці тому

      No, because they installed most likely a second meter to your house where the solar is feeding power and they subtracting from your meter that meter, So the systems are not compatible You basically going to get charged for extra power If you just plug this one in

    • @cenval999
      @cenval999 4 місяці тому

      Not compatible even with dual sensors?
      Has anyone fixed the issue to have dual sensors or is it best to run two of these inverters?
      I was thinking of running 1 set of 1k’s or 2k’s inverters

    Ha ! I knew you would break down and get the limiter i got the soyo 1k 172 no lcd shipped. I heard you could hook two ct in series one on each line. I got 24v of batteries and only 400 w of panels i could probably just set it at 60w 24 7 until i get more panels.

    • @vegasromaniac
      @vegasromaniac  5 місяців тому +1

      That's another way to do it . I have 1400 panels , planning to get 600 more and max it out

    So basically because you only have 500watts of Solar you can't show us it this unit can actually produce 1000watt, or what its efficiency is?
    Efficency means me being able to pay my system off in 1 year or 4 years with this unit...That's a big question that you failed to answer.

    • @vegasromaniac
      @vegasromaniac  28 днів тому

      It can do 650 watts on batteries , that's how I use it , racially if you can feed it power and you have a need , you can do 14 kWh in a day .. but don't be super Nazi about paying the system off , sunnis never perfect, also power demand is never the same , also solar power efficiency changes with heat and angle of the sun , so it's not a formula to do the math. It's a huge range with 50 percent to 100 percent difference
