Had this done three weeks ago. Currently still have little squares on my face. Certainly didn’t sign up for a long recovery on purpose. Where the needles went in, I have little open spots, still. I look like a pointelle pattern. That three day marker was so appealing, and I definitely got fooled by marketing. You say your recovery was longer than most but the only accounts I can find are like you and I, squares that linger. I could have recovered from a full facelift by now. I don’t have a provider that is offering light or laser to assist. As a regular person without great access to recovery extras I absolutely do not recommend this procedure.
We are all different. I had it done a month ago, and the little squares lasted only a few days. That being said, I won't do it again, not until prices lower significantly. As for results, hard to tell yet.
@@dammar117 I’m glad you had a good experience. We can all agree, that falling outside of the manufacturer’s literature and the provider’s expectations on social downtime is distressing. Minimal results are one thing, wondering when your face won’t scream that something is wrong is another.

@@aml_maven3771 Yes. This is why I'm on the fence regarding laser resurfacing. I'm tempted, but I've heard horrible recovery stories. I’m 68. Had this done about 3 weeks ago. Want to make sure that I took good care of myself afterwards, so I kept a thin layer of Vaseline on my face for 10 days. I didn’t understand what “until healed meant”. My face is horrible with pustules that look like acne all over my cheeks and neck where I had the Ellacor. My dermatologist called it perioral dermatitis and she put me on Minocycline. I hate taking pills and now I’m worried about scaring. If I were to do over I would clarify exactly how long for the Vaseline. Fully healed might mean different things to different people.
This is extremely helpful, Brianna. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. My takeaway is: it’s still a very new modality, which we should approach with some skepticism or caution until we have more robust patient data. I dislike that the marketing skews overly positive. It’s troubling and anti-science. It should be made clear to patients that the square patterns may persist much longer than the “1 week” average that they disclose. If there’s a patient population that heals much slower, those people could have their lives disrupted by the worry or anxiety of whether their skin has been damaged. If this treatment was a one and done, I’d say it’s promising. But needing to do it….3 times? You’re then nearly approaching the cost of a facelift, and the recovery and predictive outcomes have much more robust data behind them for a facelift. Your results feel very subtle. Nice - but I’m not sure it’s worth thousands. : /

Appreciate your posting about this procedure! I've been reading about Ellacor elsewhere and opinions are mixed. It seems the majority don't think it's worth the recovery. Recovery after a facelift appears to be shorter with obviously more dramatic results. I think the results in your case are negligible and you would probably be the only person who would notice any change on yourself... which is why I'd really like to see results on an older person. I do still see a darkening of your skin in the treatment area on the left side of your face. Not happy that the company minimizes recovery time. Surely they're aware of the truth and it makes one question their ethics.
