    I just bought a big bus conversion out of Ohio, and me and a friend drove it all the way back to Texas, barely missed the ice storm, the front of the coach was a solid sheet of frozen rain when got to my house that night. It was cool at the truck stops when you pull up along side a big rig, and you are just as big. Mine is a 1982 Custom Coach Corporation, and has the 8V92, the older truckers know that sound and they love it.

    Beautiful set up. I just can’t help but wonder what kind of fuel mileage you would get with something that big (?). I guess, if you can afford something like that, you’re not worrying about paying for fuel. I’m still curious though.

      only residents of HI and DC are required to have a CDL. 12 other states require an upgrade to a non com Class A if it weights more than 26k lbs or over a certain length

    This has to be Louisiana, I could never forget those shitty highways with intermittent bumps for endless miles at a time. Amazing coach and trailer though, it looks like it soaks up those bumps very well!

    • @tingokuman

      It's not a 1/2 ton truck. Last I checked a prevost can tow 20k with 1,850 lb-ft. torque. That trailer even with 2 race cars in it and gear can't be more than 15k.

    Suspension is not setup properly for this tow. The bus is bobbing up and down constantly. Someone didn't get their money's worth

    • @bigbusconversionvideos557
      @bigbusconversionvideos557  4 роки тому

      good observation, but I do want to add, that at the time of all the suspension action, we were crossing a very old bridge from the 1950's and these bridges tend have sections that are arched, which causes all vehicles to rock like this while crossing this area.

      Arun Gobinath 65'

    • @anthonyc362
      @anthonyc362 5 років тому +1

      Arun Gobinath not sure, non commercial class a is 65' in California and that seems to be the same for most states, some are actually less. California is 75' with out a permit for commercial, I don't know if it's the driver license or registration that allows 75'. Many people just risk it, the California Highway Patrol usually uses pick up trucks to enforce these kinds of laws, if you get pulled over by them, they can weigh you and measure you and they are notoriously strict and almost never give leeway. I have never heard of a local cop or sheriff carrying about RV length or weight but I know several people who have been busted by CHP for driving out of classification for their license or over length or weight. Most had to leave the rig on the side of the road until they could find a driver or have it towed. Some just came back hours later and moved it. The CHP has been going after racers and saying that they are commercial because they can possibly win purses or they use racing as a tax write off, they often pull them over for "running the scales" in an RV and ask if they have a race vehicle in the trailer and bust them. Somebody has to pay for these massive pensions and the welfare state.

    • @cobeath1
      @cobeath1 4 роки тому

      Anthony C only 12 states offer non com class a license. If there is advertising on the side, then it’s considered commercial.

    • @azschalter
      @azschalter 4 роки тому

      Clyde Dollarhide Jr you don’t need a non-commercial class A license. It’s an RV. Here’s a list of which state requires which type of license to drive such a rig: changingears.com/rv-sec-state-rv-license.shtml
