Watch as we put the Ramblas MTB bike to the ultimate test! The Aventon Ramblas is rated IP67. This means that it is sealed from dust or water. IP67 means that you can have this bike submerged in 3 feet of water for up to 30 min with no damage. Today, we test that theory.

After washing (or submerging) IMMEDIATELY push your bike and lightly clamp down on the brakes to dry the rotors. If not they almost instantly form rust like oxidation that ruins the pads the next time you ride.
Good info to know. I have ridden this bike since this video. All is good. Although, I did take it to my local bike shop to get the sand out of the pads. Thanks for the input!
Definitely a relevant test. last year while riding my fat bike, I came up to what is usually an empty creek bed. This time, there was what I assumed was a couple inches of water in it. Ehhh, no big deal and I hit it pretty fast and stopped like a jet landing on an aircraft carrier. SURPISE! The creek was 12" deep and I almost fell sidewise but quickly recovered. Which was great because my smartphone attached to my handlebars would NOT have been happy. So it's good to see, that if I do the same bonehead thing with my Ramblas, that it should be fine
I'm glad you can relate!
Love the look of that bike, Scott.
I do as well. That paint job is so sexy.
Ahhh the Lake Shore Path in Chi-Town..... Brings back memories
Heck yeah! It's my playground and I try to take as many bikes down it during my reviews.
oh wow now this was the video I was waiting for and you delivered! Well
the bike delivered too! I was a bit nervous when you said you were putting it in Lake Michigan but wow that was great!!! Thanks for the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The most unique ebike test yet. Great job. BTW, I just picked up a bike that you may like.
Thanks man. I will be looking for your review.
Nice Land Rover! Love the content
Appreciate it!
I just discovered you, Scott...and I'm glad I did!!
This test was VERY impressive and speaks incredibly well for Aventon. We're looking at buying a couple of Aventure.2s in a few months and your videos have only lent credibility to our search.
The way you reacted when you pulled her out of the water tells me that this is YOUR bike...not a loaner from Aventon. Did I guess right?
Thanx again, man!! I'll be tuning in for more!!!
I'm glad you found me! Yes, all the bikes I review are mine. They are not loaners from companies as I refuse to do a review like that. I would not advise you try this with your Aventure 2 as it will die. My Aventure 2 saw this review and asked me to please not do this to her as she will die. hahaha
@@scotthardesty- LOL!! I ride around a little man-made pond everyday...with a VERY steep slope...so, I am ever vigilant not to dunk my ass...or more importantly, my bike!
Thanx for the reply, Scott. I look forward to watching more stuff from you! 🙂
Shout out from Northern Idaho love your reviews, forget the EBIKE love your Defender, I have 2022 Defender 90. Maybe you can do a review on your Land Rover 1 time 👍🏻😁
Hahaha… Right on. She’s a 1967 Series 2a. Everything under the body has been rebuilt. New frame and everything.
I love seeing tests like this! Great video!
Thank you!
Another nice video Scott. I'm impressed. I don't intend to ever float or sink a bike but I definitely get them wet.
This will be the ONLY time this bike goes for a swim!
Your best video hands down 👍🏾👍🏾
My most nerve wracking video, that's for sure!
@@scotthardesty well worth it soldier 👍🏾
Short and to the point- Thanks!
You're welcome!
Scott, I don’t know if I could’ve done that or not lol. I kept finding myself as the clock was ticking down saying “get it out, get it out, get it out” lol Great review with proof! 👍🏻🚴
hahaha... It was a struggle
Excellent, you can count on Aventon 😍Awesome review!
Yes! Thank you!
I loved this video! A bit crazy but loved it!
It was my most nerve wracking video so far.
Scott.... fantastic sold me on it, Love all my Aventon bikes. Scott love that Land Rover did you ever do a video about it? Thanks
Thanks Mark! Nah, since this channel is about e-bikes, I never made a review on the Rover. Thanks for the support!
Great video 👍🏼
Thanks 👍
The only thing missing was Gordon Lightfoot singing.......nice test!
HAHAHAHA
Very cool review! Nice meeting you at fedex hah!
Thanks! You too!
Another great review Scott .. Diva and I laughed a lot see in Lake Michigan pushing the bike into lake. I bet it was cold . What did your local bike shop have to say after they got done with it ? thanks
I thought it would be colder actually. They said all they had to do was clean up the brake pads and rotors. They are impressed with this bike.
Can you provide an update on any long term issues caused by the dunk? Did cleaning up fix the squeak?
I cleaned it up and took it the bike shop for repair. I have since done a commuter video (editing it now) where I take it thru all kinds of tests. It will be up next week. But no issues.
Did you dunk your Giant???
NO! I don't know the IP rating of the Giant. But I did just send them an email and asked them.
That was impressive.
Right?! I am glad it worked!
Thanks for the video dude. Gratituous use of the "she" descriptor is a bit odd though.
Hahaha sorry man, all my bikes identify as a she.
Anyone on the beach look at you strange throwing a bike in the lake?😮
Nah. It's Chicago, they see way worse.
Your link got wet, it was in no hurry to load!😂
hahahaha. Sounds like the bike faired better than the link!
Sand on disk brakes hurt me. Thanks for sacrificing your bike for our entertainment and search for answers.
Me too. Thats why she went to the bike shop to get tuned up. Back to new!
Very good to know since my MTB riding dies often cross low water. Another good reason to buy this from a local deal vs Mail order…the service. Thanks for the video
