I don't know why but this interview brought a tear to my eye - to hear such a Great 60's music icon speak so humbly about opportunities being given too him - its almost as though he doesn't recognise how talented he is as a singer songwriter musician - but we do 💕
    Thank You 🙏

Well, he'll be 76 in March and he still looks good for his age. I love his song Welcome Back which was the theme song for the TV show Welcome Back Kotter which ran on ABC from 1975-1979. One thing that I don't know is if the cast even got the royalties from the syndication runs of the show?

His lyrics were amazing. He actually used words and phrases that were rarely or never used before. Such as in Jug Band Music: "I'd begun to see things as they ain't." Do You Believe in Magic: "It'll start with a smile, it won't wipe off your face no matter how hard you try." Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind: "And just when you think she's that one in the world, your heart gets stolen by some mousy little girl." Nashville Cats: been playing since they's babies, got work before they's two."

And the second time we met, he remembered my name from the first time! At the time Steve Boone's brother Charlie was in charge of the road crew. Their song Nashville Cats is/was sooooo true.
