  • It's about time the Battleships got a chance to shine, so here are not one but TWO Battleships on the same team who have mastered the art of looking at their map, pressing the A or S key and breathing at the same time.

    That team kill was totally accidental by the Nicholas and completely understandable. He launched at the Omaha, Omaha turned, Fujin steered towards them. That guy played a good DD game.

  • @josefhlavsa2891
    @josefhlavsa2891 8 років тому +3

    I actually think that the FUjin friendly kill was not NIcholas' mistake at all. I think that he fired the torps as an area denial measure which can be very important as well and then the Fujin stupidly blundered over. Later one you can see that the Nicholas did a superb DD job, torping the New mexico and then saving Joe with the smoke-screen. This guy was to me another hero of the game.

    The IJN Yamashiro (Fuso's sistership) is the one that I'm most intrigued by. Yamashiro survived the run of the gauntlet through the interlocked torpedo arcs of the DDs in the strait and made it to the end: facing off against Admiral Jesse "BB" Oldendorf (my nickname, not anybody else's) and his old, slow BBs. These were almost all Pearl Harbor survivors...and that night they got their sweet, sweet revenge. USS West Virginia, one of the most heavily rebuilt of the survivors, basically got the kill on her. WeeVee fired first: her SG radar got her the best solution, and by the end of the engagement she was basically walking 16in shells up and down the length of the Yamashiro

    The only torps that usually get me, are the carriers that drop them 10 meters away from you...there is just no way you can avoid getting hit by atleast half of them, even when you see the squadron coming.

    • @Cailus3542
      @Cailus3542 8 років тому +5

      The moment you see strike aircraft coming for you, turn your bow towards them and keep it pointed at them (unless they're DBs, then show your broadside). It won't always work, particularly when a smart CV driver drops simultaneous torpedo salvos from multiple angles, but it helps.

    • @BoZoiD57
      @BoZoiD57 8 років тому +5

      Actually you can and will avoid every torpedo if you begin to evade before the TBs get into attack range.

    • @MrAlumni72
      @MrAlumni72 8 років тому

      Even the ones that get dropped over an island (that you are sailing right alongside) or from outside the map edge?

    • @cobrazax
      @cobrazax 8 років тому

      +Cailus Griffin
      yes it helps but against good carrier players u wont evade most.
      the best way is to do these evasion moves while focusing the torp bombers down with CTRL click, especially the ones most threatening. while u turn to avoid them u can at least keep shooting them down for as long as possible, which works very well especially on US BBs from tier 7 or 8 and above.

    • @cobrazax
      @cobrazax 8 років тому +1

      yes, so your only option is to turn to avoid one, while focusing your AA on the other

    When you were talking about the advantages of the fuso, I think Jingles you should also discuss the fact that she has the lowest dispersion to max range ratio in the entire game of any battleship she will ever fight, which is nice considering dispersion will decrease with firing range from the maximum dispersion... in fact even some cruisers would love to have her dispersion to range ratio...

    • @jasonwilhite9473
      @jasonwilhite9473 8 років тому

      Agreed, massive weapons platforms were out of date however, in the pacific the battleship did very well weakening fortified beaches and bases. Also, battleships were part of large fleets or battle groups that helped protect them from subs and aircraft. It also cannot be stated enough the psychological impact a battleship has on the enemy. I dont think we will ever see traditional battleships in the future; due to the fact that aircraft carriers have assumed that role.

    I'm pretty sure that torpedo hit was the Fujin's fault. He should have had no trouble seeing it coming, and even if he did, he should still have had plenty of time to maneuver from when the torpedo warning came on. The only possible excuse he could have had would be if his rudder were jammed and his Damage Control was on cooldown.

    Jingles it's taken me some time to get up the courage to write this. But I believe that when someone does something to brighten the life of someone else they deserve to know it and be recognized. There's no gentle way to put any of this so I'll just come out with it. A little over a year ago my 16 year old daughter was raped. She became withdrawn and shut everyone and everything out. I was at my wits end and had no clue how to help her. Then one day she sat down and watched an episode of mingles with jingles with me and she loved it. So much so that we sat and watched every back episode until she caught up. Monday's became a special day for her and we became closer and bonded just out of our love of your videos. We continued this tradition up until her suicide in January when the pain and horror of what had happened to her finally over came her. It's been indescribably hard these last few months but every monday there's a new Mingles with Jingles so I sit and I watch and for that brief period I feel like my daughter is there and everything is normal again. Thank you for what you do. You may be helping more people than you realize but now you know you're helping one.
