There was indeed a cut when the camera focused on the police helicopter. I think the camera rising over the gate with Rust and Ginger is a brilliant piece of camera work also. It's been one hell of a ride rewatching this season with you. Nic Pizzolatto, the writer, is the barman who chats to Marty. And recognise that Marty's personal life is mirroring Rust's a little more right now; Rust's family broke down after his daughter was ran over on her tricycle, now Marty has lost his wife and children, just days after drunkenly driving to Lisa's and colliding with a pink tricycle outside of her apartment. "Time is a flat circle..."
To me it's a shame that McConaughey's performance overshadowed Harrelson's in the media. Woody was equally good and got a lot to chew on. Part of it is probably that he's playing a generally unlikable character, but I love watching the unlikable characters, as long as they're written and performed well.
The way Marty deflects blame is so hilarious and frustrating. Accused his wife of self-pity and victimizing when he does that when he has to confront his actions. “YOU BLEW UP MY LIFE” how about don’t cheat in the first place lol he did it to himself

yea im pretty sure the reason it took 7 takes was because of the issue with the camera once rust and ginger were at the fence.
This show is incredible. I wish it was longer but then again, its already flawless as it is.
