I have met a young couple in Thailand recently. They were from US and they were traveling from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and then to Cambodia and Vietnam and before going back to US.
We have happened to have a casual friendly conversation and I have asked them since they are so near to China, why not go to China just for a few days to see China. I told them China is very interesting. But I was surprised of what they've told me. They said, according to all their media reports in US and advice by their government and many people. They were advice and told not to travel to China. Even their parents don't allow them to go to China. They were told China is not a safe country to travel. Very dirty, poor rundown infrastructures, poor transportation system, polluted, homeless people are everywhere waiting to rob tourists are common even in broad daylight. Chances of been detained for no reason by the Communist is very high. Because China is an authoritarian state and all foreign visitors are monitored by thousands of cameras everywhere, every minute where foreign visitors go. Foreign visitors from western countries can be detained for months or even years for no reason.
All these is what they know about China. The couple is like below 25 years of age and already so badly brainwashed by their government and controlled media. This is really sad.

@@arsenal_84 I have spent these days around the Chinese New Year in a rural area. It's the first time I've met my family there. They came from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and other cities to our ancestors' place. It's so different from being in a big city. It's not very developed and is more impoverished; the people there live more self-sufficiently, growing vegetables and killing their own animals to save money. I am really happy to have had this experience, but couldn't live like this. Living like this has a different vibe, but I have truly enjoyed it.

This old boomer would do almost anything to go to the country my beloved late son traveled through and lived in for 12 years. 🥰 Unfortunately though, you are right that the majority in my country have been so brainwashed-we can’t get them to even consider that they have been fed lies-purposely. I’m afraid it gets overwhelming, so frustrating, trying to fight the lies and misinformation every day. 😔 My best friend, her wonderful husband, who is from Russia; has promised that if we can get me through my current health crisis…we are applying for VISA’s to go to China. They lived in Harbin for 5 years about 25 years ago and are excited to go back and see the changes.
In the meantime-it’s 1AM here and I am going to go hang up my lanterns and put my couplets up on my front door. This year I have cameras, so hopefully my neighbors will leave my New Years decorations alone! 😁. ❤️🇨🇳☮️ 新年快乐!🐉

1:54 China is the worlds biggest economy not the United States anymore. Nominal gdp is rly being held onto by the western economies to make them appear relatively larger than they really are. Besides purchasing power, using nominal dollar gdp to compare the US economy to Chinas is a rly poor metric given that China devalues its yuan so it won’t represent the true value of the economy when it’s converted to dollars. Adding to this artificial discrepancy the US economy is inflated atm with a nominal gdp that is substantially higher than its real gdp which takes inflation into account

Now that China has dropped visa requirements for Americans visiting China, Chinese tour companies should once again offer cheap tours and bring many more Americans to China. There should definitely be more of these programs among all countries of the world. The description of planting seeds is so apt. It's a long and hard process but we can't be afraid to take the first steps to building a better world. We should be eager to learn and do our best to overcome biases and prejudices that are spread by those with an interest in keeping people divided. That being said, it is going to be an uphill struggle for the US as the mainstream media relies on outrage and reinforcing the doctrine of "American Exceptionalism". I would NOT be surprised if the footage of the emotional students at the end of this video was repurposed to show "how badly they were treated by THE EVIL AUTHORITARIAN CCP!!!!!!!!!!!" 🤫

Seeing is believing, the world is really big and there are better ways to doing things. There are places that are actually better than here in many respect, much much better in some respect. I learned that as an expat 20 yrs ago. What an exciting country that never sleeps and slow down!

The message "Future lies on the youth" is so pure and non-political. That's the true spirit of friendship - something US seems unable to provide due to jealousy. But it is a good sign that, at least, US allows this event to happen

Must be there to see and feel the beautiful culture and mega infrastructure with high technology incorporated into it. No other countries in the world can showcase close to her achievements. The Western Democracy are painfully envious of how a communist country had in a few decades, transformed into a magnificent dragon of successful endeavors. The Western and US greedy US hegemony will never want to face this reality of humiliations. Modern China is true Democracy.

As an Australian, 26 year old me wants to move to China or Russia. I’ve had business relationship with Chinese Factories. I admire the people of China, work ethic and creativity is unbelievable. Everyone is Australia hates China due to Western Propaganda. It’s stupid. Question though; how wheelchair friendly is it? The city’s are advanced so I assume it’s great?

I’m very pleased to see these types of trips by students. What great experiences for the young people. Not just to China, but trips to all countries of the world. Because the future does lies with the youth. Growing up in a western country, I was always afraid of China and Russia and never wanted to visit either country. As a student, I was taught that communist countries are brutal and bad; coupled with all the negative propagandas from MSM. My parents and grandparents said that these countries are not as bad as the western countries painting them to be and that I should visit the countries to see and experience myself. So, while I was in college, I had an opportunity to visit China and Russia. It really was an eye opening experience for me. There really was nothing to be afraid of. The people, especially the young people in these countries are just like the youth of my country. We all want the same things. I made life long friends without prejudice. I have also hosted them in my country.

Hope this works for the sake of both people of the two countries. We know what the old and greedy Oligarchy of the other side would do to fatten their already bulging wallet. They would send them to war to feed their MIC.

if we sow mutual respect, curiosity, understanding and learning form each other, we will reap love and harmony.
if we sow arrogance, distrust, ignorance and prejudice, we will reap hatred and conflicts.
for the world, it is THE choice of our time.
it is not just every country and its government will have to make this choice, in the end the choice is up to us, every individual, we will have to make our own personal choice, and our collective choice will determine the future.
