The Hellcat is more of an all-purpose car, while the Demon is pure drag. You can't even push this thing to its limit at an official drag strip without a proper license and safety equipment. For comparison, this has a 9.65 second 1/4 mile, according to Dodge, while the Hellcat is about 11-12 second.
By leaving the roll cage out, you make it the customers responsibility to build a cage. Each owner will have different taste as to how intrusive they want their cage. Some may want a simple cage, some may want a cage that extends throughout the body, single seat vs dual seat cage etc. Plus u open up a huge aftermarket cage kit arena for companies. This car raises the benchmark big time and will send gm and Ford to the drawing board. Should be really fun to watch.
I feel like Dodge is going to make a replacement for the Viper since they are stopping production this year. I'm am truly excited to see what this thing looks like!
They might as well bring back the actual demon if they are bringing the name back. With the rounded off body lines of the 71 72 demon it would make for a nice remake of a modern version.
