It is important to always listen to your body first and Yoga teacher second. Many people cannot do twelve or eleven rounds or need to do them slowly, that is perfect. There is a lot of history and significance with Classical Sun Salutations, that we will not cover here. In short there is a correlation between Sun Salutations and Gayatri Mantra as well, twelve rounds, meaning twelve on the right and left sides make twenty four. Today is my 32 day of continuous 12 rounds of San Salutation and I already feel so much brighter and stronger,thank you for making my every day Better!Still remember our practice together in Edmonton and at the retreat...sweet memories.I do have a question for you, if I may..Ivor every movement, every mantra, there is one either inhale or exhale (inspire-expiro-fantastico ;) ). But when I go to plank pose and transition to cobra, I feel the need for one extra breath in while in plank. It seems natural, but still “extra” as per mantras count.Can you please clarify this.Thanks a lot,Hari Om!,🙌🙏
Thank you for these videos. I have an odd curiosity about how these are counted. Twelve SN just like this seems perfect for daily practice. What if a person would like to train to complete a mala (108 SN)? Would you suggest counting these the same way, or would you count this video as 24, where one side is one SN? I think a full mala is a big accomplishment already. If each count is both sides... wow!
i observed that in the 1st round of surya namaskar the right leg is stretched back first and in the second round of surya namaskar left leg is stretched back first. do we have to alternately stretch right and left in each round of surya namaskar.

I have been suffering for my emotions blocked for a years, I've tried many things, they helped open my blocks, but the emotions kept back and goes.. after this 21 day sequence, I finally felt my self granted and stayed, and I can manage my emotions way better!

I don’t know enough about yoga and would appreciate some wisdom, I ideally I would do my beginners sun salutations 24 minutes after sunrise as You said that is the ideal time. Now I have to do my Sun salutations as the sun is going down after work. Is it ok to do it at this time or are there any negative consequences for my body?

While performing them ideally during sunrise is considered auspicious in yoga tradition.There are no negative consequences however, it might affect your sleep hormones. . beautiful setting and I enjoy your videos. You are giving the ae sound to the ending of all of the mantras whereas, from what I see in the sanskrit spelling of the mantras, seven of the twelve end in the uh sound.
Namaste John! We hope you are well. Thank you for joining us for this wonderful practice along the banks of Ganga Ma! Yes, the mantras end in the 'ae' sound as Vishva-ji is pronouncing. Many of them end in "aya" or "ay" producing that 'ae' sounding.
I have been doing this wonderful practice every morning, just after the sunrise, and i can feel the difference!
I am energetic, happy, i feel healthy and my day flows in harmony😊👍

Namaste Vandana Ji. Thank you for your feedback. We regularly create and share new content here and on Akhanda Yoga Online. It is important to always listen to your body first and Yoga teacher second. Many people cannot do twelve or eleven rounds or need to do them slowly, that is perfect. There is a lot of history and significance with Classical Sun Salutations, that we will not cover here. In short there is a correlation between Sun Salutations and Gayatri Mantra as well, twelve rounds, meaning twelve on the right and left sides make twenty four. Today is my 32 day of continuous 12 rounds of San Salutation and I already feel so much brighter and stronger,thank you for making my every day Better!Still remember our practice together in Edmonton and at the retreat...sweet memories.I do have a question for you, if I may..Ivor every movement, every mantra, there is one either inhale or exhale (inspire-expiro-fantastico ;) ). But when I go to plank pose and transition to cobra, I feel the need for one extra breath in while in plank. It seems natural, but still “extra” as per mantras count.Can you please clarify this.Thanks a lot,Hari Om!,🙌🙏

I have an odd curiosity about how these are counted.
Twelve SN just like this seems perfect for daily practice. What if a person would like to train to complete a mala (108 SN)? Would you suggest counting these the same way, or would you count this video as 24, where one side is one SN?
I think a full mala is a big accomplishment already. If each count is both sides... wow!

i observed that in the 1st round of surya namaskar the right leg is stretched back first and in the second round of surya namaskar left leg is stretched back first. do we have to alternately stretch right and left in each round of surya namaskar.

I have been suffering for my emotions blocked for a years, I've tried many things, they helped open my blocks, but the emotions kept back and goes.. after this 21 day sequence, I finally felt my self granted and stayed, and I can manage my emotions way better!

I don’t know enough about yoga and would appreciate some wisdom, I ideally I would do my beginners sun salutations 24 minutes after sunrise as You said that is the ideal time. Now I have to do my Sun salutations as the sun is going down after work. Is it ok to do it at this time or are there any negative consequences for my body?
It's wonderful that you're interested in practicing yoga and sun salutations! While performing them ideally during sunrise is considered auspicious in yoga tradition.There are no negative consequences however, it might affect your sleep hormones.
