- If you are new to the channel, Welcome to QUADNATION! In this awesome episode of QUADNATION, I not only reveal back to back drag races between the TRX 450R and Raptor 700R, but we also swapped quads! Both quads are fast and both riders are good, therefore, it's a riders race! Who do you think performed better overall on both quads!? This was my last ride before my injuries! i mean still the launch the raptor was a bit faster buy you kept up, while when u drove the raptor you smoked him big... till the high speed. still he was a good driver better then the others you did. but nobody can beat you :) no mather what quad :) your fast

Again you prove to be a better rider! Lol good stuff! About his bike begging leaving in second, I guess he needs to play around with his carb jetting maybe even the needle! That's what I've had to do with my z400 to get it to leave in 2nd gear right! I definitely gotta ride the clutch right leaving even in second cuz it will throw me off in a heartbeat! Lol hope you can get back to riding soon!

Yeah I expected the 450 to launch better than it did while in 2nd gear but I bet your right, that or he changed up the gearing and it's geared too high for a second gear launch 🤷🏼♂️ I know he has played with the sprockets in the past so I'll have to ask him if he's running stock sprockets or not.

I'm geared for more top end myself, but I guess with all the mods I have, it can handle it! My stock gearing is 14/40 but I have 15/39 now

The TRX450 and LTR450 were so agile and easily manipulated! I love everything about them except.... The Raptor pulls so much harder, or at least it feels that way and I love that mega power feel 🤘
Why did he switch to the very rear of the seat during the race. I'm assuming more traction on the rear wheels???
@@01cbr929rider That's the only thing that I can think of because at times when are side by side dead even I'll see him slide to the back of the seat and next thing you know he starts pulling away 🤦🏼♂️
@@01cbr929rider yes it's more traction the weight shifts farther back and tires spin less. That's the only way I can even get a little traction on my banshee and even at that it's still spinning lol
Think imma try that next time out. I usually just duck way down for less wind resistance. (Maybe cuz I started riding street bikes before quads)
Awesome gloves. Whoever is lighter will normally win if both riders and bikes are about the same. I always launch is 1st gear

Killer quads man and you can RIDE! BTW for all who don't know from other comments I read, shifting wot (with clutch) is just fine because the trans on a bike or a quad is sequential. Shifting without clutch is also fine as long as you let up a bit before you shift. Although, the wot/wc is harder on the clutch...🤷 I rode my buddies mild modded/tuned 700r se and it would pull the front tires power shifting even in 3rd. That thing was a beast 🤤

Cool vid. How does that 450 have more top end than the 700? What are the front and rear sprocket sizes on both?
From factory the stock Yamaha Raptor comes governed in 5th gear at 6400 RPMs whereas the Honda can red line to 10,000 RPMs in 5th gear giving it that extra top end. Once I add a power commander it will allow me to rev to 9000 RPMs in 5th gear giving me that difference to beat him on the top end. As far as sprocket size I believe he's currently running stock size sprockets however I do know that he changed them up in the past so I'll have to ask him.
QUADNATION 929 I did not know that about the Raptor being governed in 5th gear. I have a PC5 to put on my 2019 Raptor but haven’t installed it yet. This gives me motivation haha. Thanks man.
Yeah I bet he went to a larger front sprocket or smaller rear sprocket giving him that extra top end. It will be interesting to see what he says.

@@wildwhiskeywolf8198 yeah I never would have thought that prior to owning one. Then when I got on it and was topping it out on some long straightaways near my house I noticed that it was accelerating and pulling hard until a certain point but didn't seem like it was revving out, more like purring along lol. Then I did some research on it and discovered that the Raptors are governed at 6400 RPMs only in 5th gear. Which means if you redline 4th gear you can go almost just as fast as when your in 5th gear, as 5th gear gives you about another 5 mph and just lowers the RPMs.
@@reggiexp69 that's one point but I've also heard that due to government regulations they have to keep them below 80mph and now with the new quads having computers for the ECU it's very easily manipulated 😭😭

Yes he's about 60lbs heavier than me. I know that does influence the race to some degree. But I do appreciate you mentioning the best driver part 😂 your awesome!
I just recently found out the extra weight makes a huge difference on the small cc pit bikes because me and my brother just raced and he destroyed me on both bikes 😭😭😭 he's like 130 lb and I'm about 170.
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL Actually I was really surprised that at the long run TRX is beating Raptor. Raptor is faster at start, even when he is riding Raptor is much closer to the TRX, but at some point TRX still have power and keep going after Raptor reach some point to the maximum speed. What speed did you reach at this point? Do you know it should be something around 70+ mph?
@@ATVGBulgaria yes I know the exact speed. Max speed is 75mph verified by a GoPro GPS and That Reaching Channel GPS APP on my smart phone. I was quite shocked when I discovered the TRX was faster on top end but I made a shocking Discovery soon thereafter... Raptors are governed from factory at 6400 RPMs in 5th gear whereas the TRX can rev to it's redline in 5th gear, thus giving it the advantage on top end. If the When I eliminate it by means of a new fuel controller the TRX will have no shot at winning 😂

How come he doesn’t let go of the gas when switching gears? Does he use the clutch ??
Yes I'll use the clutch but I don't release the throttle what that is called is power shifting. It gives you an advantage over conventional shifting because the engine stays loaded between shifts.
QUADNATION 929 but that doesn’t affect your bike if you do it right correct ?
2nd gear on the 450 isn't a good launch. 1st gear is high already so doing 2nd will only slow your start.
That's what I tried to tell him but he always loved to launch in second.

@@andrewybarra2304 hummm 🤔 I really like the looks of the YFZ 450 and LTR 450 but I have yet ride the KTM Kawasaki and Yamaha 450's before making a decision I'd like to try to find someone with these quads that would allow me to ride them. If and when I do I'll definitely premier those on the channel as first impression rides! I was impressed with both the TRX and LTR when I rode them 😍😍😍🤘

My 450 has 520cc and cam along with exhaust etc. Wonder what that 450 has? Because I have a 700 raptor guy wanting to race and his has an exhaust and tuner. My 450 is an 04 the first yr they came out.
This 450 here is a 2005 and it's modified with an exhaust system, cams stage 2 and bigger jet in the carburetor.
