This is sad. Too many comic shops are closing down. Especially since covid.
I guess CBS didn't get the memo from Rich Johnston or Heidi MacDonald that you're not supposed to say that the average age of the clientele is in their 40s and that the store is being beaten by a bagel shop. You'd never read the sentence dropped at 2:11 on bleeding cool or comics beat.
The only comic book store left in Concord and it gets replaced by a bagel shop. Hopefully they get a better location and an affordable lease.

Sad to see another shop close down I still go to my local LCS but it's just to dig through the dollar boxes or discounts on graphic novels because the current crop of comics are garbage.
If you are any bit a Star Wars fan, I highly recommend their modern comics. Most of them are so-so to VERY good. Rarely are they ever bad.
Yeah the only modern stuff worth a read right now to me is MoonKnight, Predator, and Ultimate Spider-Man the rest are meh but with bloodhunt going guess I will have to wait a couple months to get back in.
I was a big Casper, Mad Magazine, and Archie comic book fan. I especially loved the back page where you could order stuff for a dollar and a self addressed envelope. I remember ordering a Locke of Beatles hair and a self powered radio. It worked off a radiator or heater and a ground. You adjusted the antenna to tune in local stations. Best of luck. 🙏💪🌍🌏🌎❤️🇺🇸🖖

Such a shame when landmark places like Flying Colors loose their lease because of greedy landowners raising their prices to out of reach levels. I hope they find a new place soon and can get back to business. Would be an even bigger shame to lose them permanently.

Comic shops are closing, because NOBODY IS BUYING AS MANY COMICS ANYMORE! ESPECIALLY when they get woke, Free Comic Book Day, people pick them up, and resell them online. Manga IS KILLING IT, and beating out American comics.
Manga stories are just better, hard to digest but true

It has everything to do with the landlords blindsiding FlyCo by not renewing the lease & not seeing the value of this legendary spot in the community, sadly the bagel shop had no idea what was happening here...

Well, the comics that built the industry went out of publication years ago. Currently they are agenda driven politics with a characters name slapped on it. Sales tanked years ago and so comic shops are closing everywhere. This isn't a news story, just a comment on the new reality of a dead industry.
