    My take away was that I realized how the wet floors and fog change the entire scene quality, and the safety you guys are used to shoot the car drift part, and mostly the liquid texture effects you guys made with a large glass water tank were really awesome! , thanks a ton for this whole process video, please make more tutorial videos like this, by the way, your sound design tutorial was a real gem for me thanks for that as well.

      @@artlist_io Honestly I would like to dwelve more into the billing part. I still can't get my head around those 50Ks though. Now I do see all the hard work behind it and yes it is of very very good and high quality but this is just my taste and my opinion which is not an attack or anything, but I didn't like the commercial one bit. Like I said.... It's just a personal taste.

    • @artlist_io
      @artlist_io  4 роки тому

      @@Leprutz Maybe we will make a detailed budgeting video in the future. Do you feel like 50K is too much for the end product or is it too cheap?

    • @Leprutz
      @Leprutz 4 роки тому

      @@artlist_io I don't know. I would say too cheap. Like I know commercials that don't look that good as yours and they cost about a million. So I would deffinitely say way too cheap. But it also depends what kind of people have been hired. What was the directors dayly fee? DoP, Catering, Stunt team plus their equipment (don't forget saying of how many people the stunt crew alone consisted) Insurance, thransport, catering, rental equipment, water tank plus suspension, led light for bowling, securite screen while stunt car scene, the whole stunt team with car rent, camera with dolly.. and the 50 people on the second day shoot, all the art props, the CGI work, editors pay, rent for editing room. How much did or the company make out of it or was it just spendind those 50K... the Director was hired or was he part of your team, which also might reduce costs. I mean. thinking about it... the commercial looks very very very good, for that low budget.

    Yuval!! You are genius! This helped me so much, the anxiety of filming big a production suddenly became "a little more easier" after seeing this. I love how specific you describe the process. The best take away from the video for me, would be how creative the team used the lightings in the Disco hall to create more depth of field, atmosphere that matches the colors of the whole video, "blade runner look" by using colorful smokebombs, clothes and sci fi props, the glass to protect the Arri when the car was drifting, "so safety first" and most of all how specific the treatment was. "The more reference you have the clear your vision will be" I will from now on always put a lot more time creating a well thought treatment to seek for my vision. Thank you for this videos!
    "And till the next time suuugh stay creative, boop"

    I actually have two takeaways, the treatment and pre-production. The commercial is great and seeing how the commercial was made through the treatment and how to the tee it was with its reference and inspiration is amazing! The treatment is like an in-depth process book and without it I feel this whole commercial would have been a disaster. Same with the preproduction. I appreciated how thorough the preproduction was from the location scouting to have everyone gather on the third day and do a dry run through of what it takes to nail the shot.
    Very educational as it was impressive!

    Only takeaway worth mentioning is that Artlist is officially the best music service... Hands down 😎
    But in all seriousness, it's that ability to achieve an artist vision through non conventional means that makes a commercial such as this a masterpiece. To fully encapsulate the feeling and atmosphere of the reference photos for the night time editor, you used the ingenious technique of placing a water trough beneath your lighting rig to add a very unique texture and vibe to the overall image. This, along with several other golden nuggets just shows that creativity and improvisation is critical in any creative environment/job, especially filmmaking! Cheers 🍻

    My take away: lighting, pre-production and lighting! When you plan your shots and think about your lighting, you’ll save so much time later and the overall product will be so freaking much better!

    Amazing video! My take away was from the scene of the man in front of the computer and then floating in the room: the tip of using people dressed in black instead of a green chroma was really impressive to me and how the effect with water in a tank was achieved made me realize that it is not necessary to always make special effects in post-production, it is also possible to do them with organic means and playing with light and different materials. Really cool and interesting!

    I'm transitioning from a run and gun shooter to a small team, looking to start getting bigger budgets.
    This vid helped me grasp why there are sets with bigger budgets and visually showed where all the budget line items are going to.
    I liked some of the tricks that you used for depth and light softening- things like the LED strips in the background, fog as a natural soft box, and water on the ground for reflections.
    I also liked it as a nice model on how to shoot better BTS videos.
    Overall, great video and mad insightful- this was the one that made me subscribe to your channel.
    Cheers!

    Your breakdown of the steps involved to make a high end commercial are easy to understand, and though I have not the budget to create such a high end commercial, you have inspired me to attempt various filming techniques in locations in and around my city to help further my understanding and open my mind to film. This was a great video theres a lot of things to take away from this! For a start I didn't even know that a treatment was a thing in film production, another thing was the amount of work that goes into lighting the set is crazy!
